Koursk,
The X_MODE_0 is the correct keyword to use,
but you have the wrong value specified.
You can either have just a resolution,
as in:
X_MODE_0 = 640x480
Or, you can specify an entire modeline,
as in:
X_MODE_0 = 640x480 37.44 640 656 720 832 480 480 486 501 +hsync +vsync
But, the
John,
Let me clear up a couple of things:
1) If you are using LTSP v3.0, the correct path
for the root directory is /opt/ltsp/i386. The
lts.conf file is in /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf.
If you want to use your own custom XF86Config file,
it belongs in
Daniel,
The kernel isn't named in the lts.conf file. If you can
let me know what you are talking about, I will fix either
the docs, or the package, or both.

I know this is going to sound silly, Jo, but,
Paul,
Jason Pattie described a similar (maybe the same) problem
to me last week, with an i810 based mobo that would cause
the screen to quiver.
Maybe it's a problem with the Xserver. That's the biggest
difference between LTSP 3.0 and previous versions, because
we switched from 3.3.6 to 4.1.0.
Jo,
The docs are incorrect. The proper place to put the
XF86Config.ws001 file is the /opt/ltsp/i386/etc directory.
I'm updating the docs now, and I'll post the update soon.

Roger,
The floppy image has a boot loader that only knows
how to load from floppy. It won't work from hard
disk.
I think that using the lilo image is the best way to
go, if booting from hard disk.

Andres,
The config files for the kernels are in the ltsp_initrd_kit
package, which you will need, if you are building your
own kernels.
I don't know who is using bpbatch, but lots of
people are using pxelinux for booting with PXE
bootroms.

jon,
Could be anything.
We need more info.
Your dhcpd.conf file looks fine, but I see you are using
your own custom-built kernel. Have you modified the /linuxrc
script at all ?
What distro/version is running on your server ?

John,
The only fix I've seen for the i810 and agp memory is
to increase system memory on the workstation. 64mb will
work just fine.
It does seem that there should be a better way to fix it though.
You might try adding 'VideoRam 4096' in your XF86Config file.
As for the mouse problem, you
Well Bruno,
There's a lot of different ISA nics, so for us to help
you, you need to tell us more about the cards, like
maybe the brand and model ?
As for getting the image to the floppy, you can just
dd the file to the floppy disk.
Something like this:
dd if=file of=/dev/fd0 bs=10240
