Sounds like you have corroded/dirty contacts under the mode selector dial, have
you tried working the dial through a few full cycles (I know it's difficult

That's certainly a good point however for me it's more trust in my equipment
and a realization that pampered gear often results in lost opportunities, of

focus manually 95% of the time. My criticism
has nought to do with speed etc it's simply that it's rare that the AF finds
the spot where I need it to focus, be damned if I'm going to focus - compose -
shoot on a tripod and rails.

believe that Bokeh was a criterion in the design of the Oly E-10 zoom (which is
what it was shot with), its barrel distortion and chromatic aberrations aren't
great though.
