Sorry for the short response...
For electrochemical batteries, it would be temperatures or air cooling
maybe ventilation.
For Lithium batteries, there is electronics internally, high altitudes
would affect cooling, and the components..

I have to agree that the voltage is pretty aggressive for that system.
With, absob timers they are typically based on how much current is going
into the battery bank when in Bulk.
The inverter current realistically would be around 130 to 140 amps... at
that rate 3.5 to 5 hours at the most...

You definitely don't want interchange BTS's... If you use a Midnite sensor

putting into the battery is a pipette to remove just a drop or two of
electrolyte...
The Extech RF40 or RF41 are available on amazon and are generally priced
well.

Hi Steve
Thanks
I would only add that those self discharge rates are for good condition
batteries.
As they age, it increases.
Question.
How does the self discharge rates vary between, VRLA and flooded, or do they?
Thx

As for the drop mode, I’ve never has much of a use for it… But when mixing
firmware revs normally using the most current version is best… this may be
something that wasn’t tested as Outback has a lot of software mods.

HI Steve,
Can you explain the difference between plate temperature and over all battery
temperature?
What sort of temperature difference are you seeing? IE post is hotter or
cooler and by how much.
thanks

Best way to explain it is when the battery bank is charging and you remove the
charge, the battery is a chemical reaction... it's still charging for a short
period of time even though you have removed the source.

If you have the most recent Mate firmware revision (Mate2, Mate) it’ll work
this way. I do not know about the Mate3 as I left Outback shortly after the
