Re: The selection contains groups

2005-12-21 Thread MAU
Hello Mark,

The selection contains groups. Do you really want to delete them?

That's what I get when I want to delete a group of messages with the
 combination Ctrl-Shift-Del.

Of course I want to! Why make a key-combination and then cripple it with
such a (rather useless) additional question?

While I agree it is a bit redundant, it may help some people that are not
fully aware that even if you just select one message in a thread (group)
the Ctrl-Shift-Del combination will delete the whole thread (group).

3.63.15: AV when moving a folder from one account to another one

2005-12-21 Thread MAU
Hello all,

I wanted to move one folder from one account to a different one, so I
Alt+Dragged it and, when placing it in the target account, I got the
following AV:

---
The Bat!
---
Access violation at address 00404C3C in module 'thebat.exe'. Read of address
FFDD.
---
Aceptar
---

After clicking OK I could not see the moved folder in the target
account, it was still showing in the source one. So, I tried to move it
again and then I got a warning that a folder with the same name already
existed.

But no, I could not see the the folder in the tree of the target
account, it was still in the tree of the source account. Although this
time I noticed that it was showing 0 messages instead of the 11 that
were in it.

I decided to re-start TB and there it was! The folder in question now
showed up in the target account and with all the messages. But, to my
surprise, original folder was still showing in the source account and
showing 0 messages.

Looking at the actual folders with Windows Explorer, I could see that
the original folder still existed but it did not contain any TBB or TBI
files.

Also, I had an Incoming filter in the source account that would move
certain messages to the folder in question and this filter was not
modified to point to the folder in the target account.

For the moment, I have not been able to reproduce this.

I have opened https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5493

IMAP: Message list problems still remain here

2005-12-21 Thread Curtis
Hi all,

Ok. After doing some more testing using the current beta both at work
and at home, here is what I've noted.

When I started up TB! at work and looked in my Inbox, there were a lot
of old and long ago deleted or moved messages. Perhaps, this was a
remnant of one of those sessions that I had started and not finished
with TB!. A compress didn't do anything so I cleared the cache. That
cured the problem.

I read mail at home etc. and came back to work this am to again see
the same messages in the Inbox I had left during my last session at
work, in addition to new ones. Those messages that I had left were
moved to other folders. A compress didn't get rid of them. The
messages aren't there when I open the Inbox in Mulberry. Again, I had
to delete the cache.

My TBOT folder at work was just now stuck in a mode of insisting that
one of my older messages, in addition to others, were unread. I moved
to one of them and got the perennial message not loaded indicator. A
restart and usual initiation of folder updating etc. didn't cure this
issue. I had to delete the cache and rebuild it.

IMAP using too much cpu time

2005-12-21 Thread Curtis
Hi all,

I've been noting problems with smooth user input response while
composing messages. It's as though the system is very busy. When I
check TB! in the task manager, it's consistently using at least 15%
CPU time. When it's actually checking the server, CPU time goes up to
spikes of 45% and is at least 35% at all times!

I note the problem more on my office system which has less RAM and CPU
power than my home system.

I have AVG installed and have since deleted the plugin to see if this
could be the cause and nothing has changed since doing so. I have no
other plugins or spam proxies installed here. No firewall either
except that for XP.

spikes of 45% and is at least 35% at all times!

I note the problem more on my office system which has less RAM and CPU
 power than my home system.

I have AVG installed and have since deleted the plugin to see if this
could be the cause and nothing has changed since doing so. I have no
other plugins or spam proxies installed here. No firewall either
 except that for XP.

On my home installation, TB! does fall to zero% CPU activity in between
server checks. I'm using AVG there as well. Hmmm. I probably need to
clean the caches for all folders at work.

Anyway, the expunge/compress function doesn't work anymore it would
seem.

Hello Goncalo,

How long has this been going on now?

M I see you have been reporting this or similar problems at least since
M 3.63.08, but I don't recall anyone else having the same problem, at
M least for so many versions. Is there anything that could make your
M system sort of 'unique'?

 That means nothing, of course.

I recall when I reported that the backup procedure had a bug and, at
first, nobody cared and/or was able to reproduce it.

It was clearly an example that, because only one person is being
affected, the problem may be global and not local.

Of course. My statement doesn't not imply, I think, that the problem may
not be due to TB. But it may be a problem that only shows up in quite
specific and 'unique' circumstances.

Re: Message list tab

2005-12-21 Thread MAU
Hello Curtis,

What about trying View/Message List Tabs? ;-)

This was not in my view menu, but since you have it, I had to go hunting
for it in the customiser (and boy, was it a hunt), found it, and added
 it.

That's probably because you had customised your menus before the 'Hide'
option was introduced. This happened to me and what I did was to re-do
my customisation from scratch and using the Hide option instead of
Remove. That way, when you go into Customise, you can always see the
'full menu' even though you may have to select each of the options to
verify which ones you have hidden. This is why I have logged this BT
wish that you may want to support:

 http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5474

and perhaps these two also:

http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5477
http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5475

So, if we customize our menus in anyway and there's a new menu addition
by Ritlabs, does our customization and departing from the default menus
prevent the addition of the new item to our own customised menus?

I don't think so. If it is a new menu entry I think it would/should
appear in your customised menu because you have not either removed it or
hidden it. But I'm not sure, because I'm not sure now how customised
menus are saved in tbuser.def. H..., I'll have to take a look.

Right. I have to clear the Inbox cache when I get to work and when I

C Me too, though I wonder if these are genuine duplicates. Afterall, I
C used to see duplicates prior to IMAP. :) Did you verify these are bug
C generated duplicates?

Yes this was one message received twice. Actually the counter showed
it as 2 new unread messages, but when I opened the folder 1 message
was already marked as read, but the count still showed 2. I went to
fastmail website and looked to see that there was in fact only 1
message (which there was) and then I moved it to a different folder.
At this point when TB refreshed both messages disappeared.

C For example, I thought it was TB! responsible for these:

C mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

C and

C [EMAIL PROTECTED]

C However, they are the same message sent twice and hence the different
C ids. I guess we may see a few duplicates because of the recent list
C problems. Some may have sent their messages twice thinking there was a
C problem with delivery rather than the listserver.

Yes I did notice a few duplicates on the list, but as you say I think
this was the lists problem.

Also as an aside, I had 1 folder here that would not show any
messages. I tried clearing cache to no avail and then a purge and
compress which seems to have worked. Strange days indeed. :)

Also, new version 3.64 has just been released.

The hilarious part is that hitting the 'clear cache now' button led to

The message count updates for new messages added is Ok. Do you filter

Re[2]: IMAP - 3.64.01 Christmas Edition

2005-12-21 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello Curtis,
A reminder of what Curtis typed on:
  Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 13:49:08 GMT -0500

C The message count updates for new messages added is Ok. Do you filter
C your messages using TB!? If so, maybe that's the difference. My
C messages are filtered server side, except for the filter that colours
C replies to my messages a particular colour.

My sorting is done on the server as well, just the color groups are
applied here and I just noticed that it is kind of hit and miss as to
what gets colored.

Same here. Not that it's an excuse for it to be reeking havoc. The
passing user will try manipulations too.

My messages are usually showing OK, but my counts are not
 consistent.

They're a lot more consistent here, though it could be better. I still
doubt them and with good reason.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to TB! and to everyone on the
 list.

Same here from myself. :)

... and thanks to Ritlabs for their efforts to date. There's still a
LOT more to do before I'd recommend TB! for IMAP.
