Hello TB! Users, I use the HTML editor on some of my accounts. One of the disadvantages of doing this is that The Bat! does not have a Paste Plain Text option. This means that text pasted in brings in the source formatting, and I have to spend some time removing this again, and it is sometimes impossible for HTML text. Enter Get Plain Text, a free 70Kb application that you can pin to your Windows taskbar. Its sole function is to convert clipboard contents to plain text so that you can paste it in without any formatting. Brilliant! I've saved the installation time already this morning! Google for Get Plain Text. Hello TB! Users, Whenever I start TB, the file Kludges.txt is created in my startup Windows7 toolbar folder. I am sure that I have had the problem before, but I cannot remember what the cause and solution was. It started appearing after my last update of Outpost, but I can find no mentions of Kludges.txt anywhere in the Outpost help forums or in wider internet searches. Word is involved in the composing of Outlook mail, so there is a potential interaction between Word and email. I would have a look at the Email settings in Outlook - check what the default settings are for sending messages (and switch to text only as a test). It would also be worth what the default programs are for email related activities are (in Outlook 2007, look under Tools|Options|Other|Default programs. If TB is not handling all the email related activities then change it. The other thing that can sometimes cause strange application crashes is a graphic driver issue. It would be worth checking whether there are more up to date drivers available. The final thing, as others have mentioned, are firewall and anti-virus issues. Turning off these (one at a time and then both) may help to rule this out. Both are likely to have a hand in the sending of mail. I hope that you find a solution soon. For down-arrow, tab, I was thinking of the autocomplete in browser (Firefox) fields, where you can select the entry by using the down arrow to select the entry you want and using TAB to fill the field with it. Looking at the headers in my messages, everything appears to be normal, but then I noted that one email I sent does indeed have the incorrect time. I am in the GMT timezone plus an hour for Daylight Saving (BST). My PC is set to GMT and has added an hour for Daylight saving and the time is correct. Normal Message: Date: Mon, 3 Aug 2009 12:38:30 +0100 Received: from [snip] by out1.messagingengine.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id *; Mon, 3 Aug 2009 07:38:32 -0400 (EDT) Incorrect Message: Date: Mon, 03 Aug 2009 10:56:23 + Received: from [snip] by out1.messagingengine.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id *; Mon, 3 Aug 2009 05:56:26 -0400 (EDT) On the normal message, the Sent Items folder (IMAP) correctly shows the Sent and Received times as 12.38. 2 TB Icons on Task Bar in Vista
Hello TB! Users, I have a problem with two icons for TB appearing on my taskbar in Windows Vista. It affects both Vista machines. When I first start TB, two buttons appear on the task bar. One has the TB icon and is labelled "The Bat!" and the other has the icon but is otherwise blank. The blank button usually goes away if I close and restart TB. I have tried various things to get rid of the second button without success.
