For the really big book users out there, like me, audible offers a platinum subscription, which gives you 24 credits. Of course you have to pay for that all at once. But the cost per credit then becomes less than $10. You can carry 12 from one year to another. I have never had a problem using

Wow, not using credits… that should happen to me! I used to pay for the Platinum membership up front, $229 for 24 credits, but since my wife arrived here from the Philippines I don’t read quite as much any more and of course the low Canadian Dollar makes Audible more expensive here. My $14.95

I use Audible less now than I did, but there are some books that have a great human reader that are not available through BARD or the CD package costs too much and is Audible usually has the best price on audio books. Plus, their books, listened to with their app, have the best book navigation

Mark, Since I only buy my audio books through Audible, I can't answer the iTunes question exactly. You used to be able to access books loaded through iTunes, but I think speed adjustment is not available on non-audible books. But, yes you can navigate by chapter and can put in all the bookmarks
