Anyone know where I can get a single user copy
of Office 2011 for Mac Home / Business locally for a decent price
(need it for tomorrow PM).
I can get it mailed for about $200. HT has it for $231 but no
local stock. It's $279 elsewhere and $379 as a MS

It's connected via USB to a Windows 7 PC (with printer sharing and LPD

Our old faithful Dual 2.0 GHz PPC G5 is doing the "3 flash" boot. Even
though this is supposed to indicate bad RAM (tested with other RAM with
same result) I know this is likely to be a logic board. I'm sure I'll
dig up a service manual somewhere and explore further.

I'm not the full bottle on things DNS.
I've got a domain foo.com with web / mail hosting off-site.
I'd like to setup a series of domain entries site1.foo.com,
site2.foo.com etc so its easier to SSH / connect to machines located
at a variety of site offices.
I've used Dyndns.org to do this
Logic, Pro Tools etc.

I've got an 8 page PDF (1.5Mb).
I've opened a single page in Adobe Illustrator to make some changes
(delete a line of text and add a caption) and resaved the document.
It's now a whopping 5Mb and remains that way after trying to use
Acrobat to reduce the file size.
Any ideas on a solution
I was trying to connect to a .dyndns.org server and couldn't work
out why my password wasn't working.
Under closer examination I noticed fumble fingers had typed in
dyndnsD by accident.
I was curious as to if the failed login attempts (passwords) are
capable of being stored and thus if
I frequently SSH / SFTP in to my machine at home with Interarchy to
grab needed files.
How do I deal with dragging files over with resource forks such as
clippings etc?
Can I command line gzip them or something?
Or should I try Samba or something else in future? (I'm not quite
ready to get

I recently moved two machines (a G4 and a G5) from 10.3.9 - 10.4.3 - 10.4.4
I swear I am spending more time than ever before 'waiting' with that
damn Pizza Wheel o' Death. Be it copying files, starting apps and the
like.

Its time for some more HD space...
I've always been a fan of the Seagate Barracuda PATA / SATA drives
which I find to be fairly quiet and reliable.
Several of my suppliers also stock Western Digital and Hitachi
drives. Anyone got any experience with these brands?

I have slowly over the years pieced together a tasty home theatre setup.
I'm a bit fussy when it comes to quality, always going for the
component video / digital audio source wherever I can (I'm only using
100cm CRT technology at this stage).
I keep wondering if I should be using my G5 as
