[WAMUG] Missing emails from "Mail" on iMac - how to restore from back up

Hi Today for some unknown reason all the emails in a folder on Mac Mail and its two sub folders have gone missing. I can’t find them anywhere. I have a reasonably recent back up and I have found what appear to be the missing folder and emails under User>Library>Mail. But p

Hi Severin, I would not suspect you could have a Virus, I would suspect a Spammer. It could be what is known as 'Backscatter' - bounceback messages from legitimate e-mail servers that have been fooled by the spammers. Have a look at the 'All Headers' of the returned (bounced) emails you might
