Hi,
I am wondering if Airstream ever made a Truck camper. I have someone
telling me that they have an old Airstream slide-in truck camper. I have
never seen one, I have seen AVION truck campers, but never Airstream. I
thought I would ask you guys, I have never seen anything on truck campers
made by Airstream.

Check out Mystic Springs Campground. It too is an Airstream only CG and is owned
by the members of the Pensacola Fl WBCCI unit. Its about 30 miles north of
Pensacola near the Alabama border and is on a river.

I have not seen an airstream camper either. I bet this person is mistaking
it for the Avion campers.

Hi Don,
The rear shocks with coil springs work well for me. That's what I've been
using on our Suburban 1500 for the last 10,000 miles of towing our '67 22'
Safari.
BUT - when I installed rear adjustable air bags inside the factory "cargo
coil springs" on our 1975 Mercury Station Wagon, I didn't like the results
when towing our '67 22' Safari. I'm no expert, but the air bags seemed to
negate the intent of the spring bars for weight distribution.
End result is I deflate the air bags for best weight distribution and sway
control. In my opinion, there are betters ways to increase carrying
capacity and achieve ideal weight distribution while towing our Airstream
than by adding adjustable air bags.

Tim,
If you can lift/tip the front of the stove cover up, then the two
connections at the rear (fulcrum) can be seen. Usually, it's a matter of
aligning the connecting posts with two partial holes and sliding the stove
cover posts out from beneath them. Whatever the variation, the principle is
the same (yeahhh - right!!).
I'm sure others will offer suggestions. Among us, one of the ideas will
match up to your stove cover and do the trick for you.

This one pops up every now and then. Airstream never did make a truck camper.
It is an Avion, most likely.

Hi Don,
A couple of years ago I was in the market for shocks for my Ford F150
4x4. I did some research and came to the conclusion that I didn't need any
extra payload capacity, so Coil Over shocks weren't needed. I opted for
Rancho RS 9000 adjustable shocks, with the front/back dual air adjustment .
I an completely satisfied with the shocks. The air adjust only affects the
damping- more air= more damping, less air = less damping. That way you can
tow with max damping and when you get where you're going, air the shocks
down and have a softer ride. As I recall, the entire package was about $400,
I installed them myself, and other than some difficulty finding a relatively
cool space under the hood to mount the compressor, was a piece of cake.
Instruction package was VG, and the performance is excellent.

Hi!
I'm a student planning to conserve money by buying a trailer to
live in while I study.
I've fallen in love with Airstreams. I have $2750 to spend. Size
doesn't matter. If you have an Airstream (or one of their cousins,
such as the Silver Streak) that you would like to sell
for this amount, please e-mail or call me.
Thanks!
I look forward to talking with you.
Chris
P.S. I live in Palo Alto, CA.

Don,
Unless you are overloading the suspension on your suburban I would just
stick with normal shocks.
