Hi Dee, My Husbacnd has suffered from TIA's in the past. This is from Merck Manual. Transient Ischemic Attacks or mini strokes, Treatment Treatment of TIAs is aimed at preventing a stroke. The first step in preventing a stroke is to control, if possible, the major risk factors for it: high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, smoking, and diabetes. In addition, antiplatelet drugs, such as aspirin (Trade Names: ECOTRIN, ASPERGUM), and dipyridamole (Trade Names: PERSANTINE), can be taken. When stronger drugs are needed (for example, for people who have atrial fibrillation, another abnormal heart rhythm, or a heart valve disorder), doctors may prescribe anticoagulants (drugs used to inhibit blood clotting), such as heparin or warfarin (Trade Names: COUMADIN). http://www.merck.com/mmhe/sec06/ch086/ch086b.html Dee wrote: Thanks for this, it is just that my husband has to take it because of ischaemic attacks. Re: CSaspirin
Hi Dee, I don't know of any other form of magnesium in pills like aspirin other than magnesium stearate. this is what Wikipedia says: Magnesium stearate, also called octadecanoic acid, magnesium salt, is a white substance which is solid at room temperature. It has the chemical formula C36H70MgO4. It is a salt containing two equivalents of stearate (the anion of stearic acid) and one magnesium cation (Mg2+). Magnesium stearate melts at about 88 °C, is not soluble in water, and is generally considered safe for human consumption. Because it is widely regarded as harmless, it is often used as a filling agent in the manufacture of medical tablets and capsules. In this regard, the substance is also useful because it has lubricating properties, preventing ingredients from sticking to manufacturing equipment during the compression of chemical powders into solid tablets. It is also a common ingredient in baby powders. In pure powder form, the substance can be a dust explosion hazard, although this issue is effectively moot beyond the manufacturing plants using it. When used as a filling agent in the manufacture of capsules and tablets, such as vitamins, the source of this ingredient is typically beef. However, there is an increasing number of vegetarian options in which the product specifically indicates it contains magnesium stearate from vegetable sources. I do not know if this form of magnesium is even used by the body. I have never heard of this source being used. It is just an anti-caking agent from my experience. I do work in a pharmacy. CSAmemia + Hysterectomy
HI all, I have a medical situation, in which I have had pretty heavy bleeding for the past 12 days and am now very anemic. I have been told that a hysterectomy is eminent and by rights I should be having a blood transfusion right now. Regular counts should be 120 and mine is at 77. Transfusions around 85-90. Tomorrow will tell if I need one. I have been doing some research but am appealing to my health lists for any information good or bad towards the situation. I have presently 3 weeks to wait for the surgery unless things go from bad to worse over the next few days. I have been put on medication to help control blood flow and iron to build the blood back up. If things get worse the surgery date will be moved up. I don't want the surgery but I am out in the middle of no-mans land with my specialist leaving in 2-3 months. The alternative specialist for this surgery, if I wait until after this one leaves, is not a very good option. This doctor is worried about the anemia being really bad on heart long term. I really have been putting this off for sometime and have also been turning a blind eye to it. I would like to hear if anyone has had this procedure and what are some pros and cons of the effects. Hi V, I hear you are the person to talk with about LED lights. My cousin has an LED belt which che used for a couple of years over her abdomen-liver area. Re: CSCMO Boron
Does anyone know what the difference is between borax and boric acid? We have boric acid on the shelf in our pharmacy. One website says this: http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/aug2000/967602781.Bc.r.html Commercially, boric acid is used for fireproofing cloth, glazing pottery, hardening steels, making electroplating baths and making artificial gems. Boric acid; however, is never to be ingested, it is a poison. It is used in powder form as a pesticide to kill ants, cockroaches, fleas, silverfish, crickets and other pests. another web site says this: http://www.natbat.com/docs/boron.htm If you believe aspirin or table salt is dangerous, poisonous or in some other way life threatening, then you probably should not use borates. If, on the other hand, you can rationally look at the comparative data, you will probably come to the conclusion that boric acid and Boron No. 10 are among the safest of choices for making cotton-batting flame retardant. I think zeb was talking about systenic Candida Albicans, not just vaginal yeast. This is yeast in the digestive tract, ears, blood, etc. I don't think one diflucan would be acire unless you have drastically changed your eating habits as well. Fermented foods and all high glycemic carbohydrates should be eliminated as well. it takes months or even years to successful fight Candida. Re: CSNiacin - Stomach acid test
Hi Everyone, I received this off from one of my other lists. I don't know how accurate it is, but it can give you an idea Whether you have too much or not enough acid. G Murray http://www.drdebe.com/BAKESODA.htm STOMACH ACID ASSESSMENT For this test you will need some fresh baking soda. The purpose of this test is to give us a rough indication as to whether your stomach is producing adequate amounts of hydrochloric acid. The most scientific test for assessment of hydrochloric acid levels is the Heidelberg test. Gastrocaps can also be used to measure hydrochloric acid levels with good accuracy. Both these methods are somewhat cumbersome however, and involve a visit to a doctor for you to swallow a special capsule, which is used to measure acid levels. Hydrochloric acid is important for digestion and absorption of many nutrients. When hydrochloric acid is lacking, malnutrition results. Also, because hydrochloric acid kills many bacteria, yeasts, and parasites, its insufficiency is associated with greater incidence of gastrointestinal infection. Hypochlorhydria (inadequate hydrochloric acid production) is linked to not only gastrointestinal symptoms, but also to autoimmune diseases and degenerative diseases of all kinds. To perform this test: mix one quarter teaspoon of baking soda in eight ounces of cold water, first thing in the morning, before eating or drinking anything except water. Drink the baking soda solution. Time how long it takes to belch. Time up to five minutes. If you have not belched within five minutes http://www.drdebe.com/REVLWHCL.htm stop timing anyway. If your stomach is producing adequate amounts of hydrochloric acid you should probably belch within two to three minutes. Early and repeated belching is consistent with excessive stomach acid. Belching results from the acid and baking soda reacting to form carbon dioxide gas. The Heidelberg or Gastrocap tests can be employed for confirmation of the results of this test. Re: CSeye twitching, parasites and CS
Wendy I had a very bad eye twitch for about a year and a half. I'm not sure what causes eye twitching. I am more inclined to believe deficiencies or even parasites before listening to main stream medicine saying that the only cause is stress. Which is what they all told me and they blew off any other questions I asked. Mind you it was always worse under stressful situations, but it took a lot of cleansing and magnesium supplementation before it went away, I started doing series of Master cleanses (fasting on lemonade made with lemons, maple syrup and cayenne pepper) and liver cleanses last summer, along with doses of cs, bioxycleanse, and magnesium. After starting that routine I felt so good and the eye twitches vanished. Thinking about them, now makes my eye feel like it could twitch, but it has not returned since early last summer. I need to do that all over again as I feel myself going back to my old habits again. I feel my liver is starting to feel congested. (I have no gallbladder) My feet are starting to ache and I have something going on with my main index finger knuckle. It aches and it is getting large bump in the side of the joint. It could very well be parasites. I never tried cs in the eye. I drank it at night between the large amounts of lemonade. I do have the odd floater in my eye that has been there since I can remember. CS has not made them go away. : ( Just in case that it might really have been just stress, I told myself that I was not going to let the stressor in my life bother me and that also seemed to help. Hi Marshalee, Yes, these would be all good things to try. I can't seem to get the kids to swallow pills yet, so I have to find liquid remedies. They have coughed up more pills trying to swallow but still can't. I'll see if I can get some liquid forms of the things you suggested. Yes, tea tree oil, would be a good choice too to try on the hands. These kids can be doing relatively normal things and big blister like spots (quarter size or larger)will come off and leave a very raw spot for weeks. Right now they only have smaller peeling around the finger tips but even some of that looks like it is getting deep. I seem to forget about that product as I use mostly H2O2 and CS for most fungal and bacterial problems. They don't get migraines at all. I never hear them complain about headaches. The one most plagued with canker sores seems to eat pretty healthy lots of fruit and veggies. I'm wondering if it is the fruits that bring them on as he just had a new one pop out yeasterday and he has been eating a fair amount of grapefruit and grapes this past day or so. Maybe some of the fruit is too acidic for his system. The last 2 days he has also been complaining of a very sore back. He is a very tall boy for his age and seems to have fast growth spurts and has complained about leg pains before. They both of them have had the red sandpaper type skin every year right around christmas. The very first year that the kids had this. I was so worried that it maybe measles and did not want to go home for christmas and give it to all the rest. The kid never actually got sick. But it has happened in various forms every year since. This past winter, besides the rough dry bumpy skin, the buttocks area of the boy had broken out in a pimple like dry rash. Very sore and we suspected clothes washing detergent, but it seemed that the CS seemed to relieve the pimples even though the red rash does not seem to want to clear up. It has faded when the weather got a little nicer but each time it snows the rash seems to come back. Like I said I am down to mostly washing the clothes with just tiny amounts of soap that he seems to tolerate and triple rinsing them but the rash seems to persist. I have been putting moisturizing cream (glaxal base) for sensative skin and that makes it feel better but that rash does not let up. I tried Keri bath oil to see if the oil would help the dry skin and that seemed to exasperate it. Not winning with much I do. The kids love the CS tho they are always asking for it for any thing that hurts. It really seems to take pain away. G Murray Marshalee wrote: Hmm, the bumps sound like what I had as a kid. Hi Terry, I have looked into lysine. I have been looking for the recommended daily dose, but I have not found a quality product here that would give methe proper dosage. I have found one with some lysine in it but it is mixed and only says it has lysine in it with no amounts listed. I am sceptical. Do you have a brand name as I do work in a pharmacy and maybe I can get them to bring it in? Who supplies it? Are you saying that they come in 1000mg capsules with 100 per bottle. That is only a 10-20 day supply. It would be very costly for a maintenance dose even. Give me some info and I'll get them to check it out. Thanks G Murray TC wrote: You mentioned cold sores or canker sores. Both these respond to generous quantities (5-10,000 mg/day) of lysine, an amino acid. I buy mine from a pharmaceutical supply house, much better price than any HF store. It has a very mild, slightly tangy taste, dissolves into any liquid, can be taken on an empty or full stomach. Ask a pharmacist if he can order it for you. Buy more than 100 grams (that's only the equivalent to 100 thousand-milligram capsules). Hi Bamboo Chik, Thanks, I was looking for the dosage that I could give the kids for Vit A as I know it can be toxic. They do get yogurt fairly often in their school lunches and freeze it at home and eat like popsicles. I suppose that might kill a few? Thanks for your info, G Murray Bamboo Chik wrote: I agree with the nutritional supplements. (ages 8 and up) After symptoms abate you can just make sure that they take a good complete multi-vitamin/mineral pill/liquid daily. I would strongly urge you to add yogurt and or kefir to their daily diet, making sure it has active cultures. Lots of fruits and veggies can be good, but could also be too much of a good thing, for example, if it is displacing needed proteins and fats. Growing kids in particular really need essential fatty acids for their brain growth, these are the omega 3's... if for example they are on a lower fat kind of diet, they might not be getting enough of the fat-soluble vitamins, A, E, D, and K. CSkids with skin peeling
Hi Everyone, What would cause skin to constantly peel around the finger tips palms and soles of feet? Is there other causes than fungal implications? My children have been plagued with this problem for a long time. I have thought about diet but their diets are about as night and day as they can be. I have a 9 yr old daughter that loves all things carbohydrate and sugar and salmon. The other, 8yr old son, could care less about sweets and loves fruit, vegies, bones ( his version of any meat on the bone) and muffins. A Fairly healthy eater. I do suspect candida with the one, the other can eat till the cow comes home and won't seem to gain an ounce. The son seems to have some nasal problems and both have a bad rash usually every winter all over their backs. Dry little red bumps, almost like a fine sand paper. My son's hair does not grow hardly at all. It seems to be agravated by the laundry soap so we have been trying different soaps but may have to resort to what they uses as a body wash in the bath ( Soft Soap aloe vera) Seems to be the only thing they doesn't react to.Amway's LOC does good, too, but I don't have a supplier for that any more. My son seems to always suffer from canker soars in his mouth. Right now they both have a form of cold sore. My daughter's lower lip burst out with a huge one or several all together, and my son has a form of one that keeps popping out on his nose every 3-4 months. The Dr. says that he needs to use some real expensive anti - viral salve on it but he just soaks it with colloidal silver and it seems to take away the infection right away. but they still take several days to go away. A I am going to see if they will soak their hands in some H2O2 but not sure how long they will have to soak. They use Colloidal Silver for almost all that hurts. They are very good about asking for it. I will see if it will clear it up, but I am interested to get to the root of the problem. I am thinking maybe trying an intestinal cleanse and some liver cleanses, but not sure how to proceed with children at this age. CSRe:CScathode/anode question
I hope this clears this up some: ) How to Define Anode and Cathode * Definition http://www.av8n.com/physics/anode-cathode.htm#i-def: The anode of a device is the terminal where current flows in. The cathode of a device is the terminal where current flows out. * Our definition applies easily and correctly to every situation I can think of (with one execrable exception, as discussed below http://www.av8n.com/physics/anode-cathode.htm#i-zener). Good examples you might have heard of include cathode-ray tubes, the cathode/grid/plate in an amplifier tube, the rotating anode in an Xray tube, common-anode LED arrays, and the sacrificial anode on a boat. * Ours is the original, time-honored definition. It is consistent with the Greek roots ανα- and κατα-. There is no other sensible definition. I’ve seen several attempts at definitions, but unless they were equivalent to our definition http://www.av8n.com/physics/anode-cathode.htm#i-def, they were grotesquely overcomplicated, wrong, or both. * For the vast majority of people, there is no point in memorizing the meaning of anode and cathode. The terms just aren’t very useful, unless you get a job in an electrochemistry laboratory or some comparably narrow specialty. If some day you do need to know the meanings, you can look them up that morning and forget them again that evening. * Note that when we say current-in, we mean current flowing into the device from the external circuit. Similarly when we say current-out, we mean current flowing out of the device toward the external circuit. We are treating the device as a black box, and we are not talking about whatever currents flow within the device. This black-box terminology is standard in all branches of engineering and science, unless the context clearly requires otherwise. * To avoid misconceptions, remember that the anode/cathode distinction is based on current, not voltage. Anode/cathode is not the same as positive/negative or vice versa. Illustrative example: for a battery being discharged, the positive terminal is the cathode, while for the same battery being recharged, the positive terminal is the anode. Bottom line: Anode/cathode means current-in/current out. Dan Nave wrote: Everything that I've ever seen defines the anode as the positive electrode... Yes I can attest to that, as I do not have a gallbladder and have passed many stones. They are made in the bile from cholesterol and other foreign bodies (parasites and liver cells sloughed off), so the bile in the liver will make stones if the conditions are right. Re: CSFasting
Hi, While I'm not putting down water fasts, as I have not gotten up the gumption yet to do this, I have been following the Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs. It is not quite the same as a water fast, but in my mind accomplishes almost the same end results with maybe a few more benefits. It is a lemonade drink of lemon juice, grade C maple syrup and tiniest pinch of cayenne pepper in pure water. The lemon cleans out the system and alkalinizes the body. The maple syrup provides all the nutrients the body needs for sustenance as well as sweetening. The cayenne pepper also cleans the mucous out and is a very good blood cleanser. Nothing else except for the nightly lax tea and morning internal salt water flush is ingested during this time. It really does give the digestive system a rest and pushes the toxins out. This can be done for 40 days with little ill effect for people who have accomplished this time frame, but is also very beneficial for 10 day cleanses which I have done previously and for shorter 2-5 day cleanses which I also have been doing ever couple of weeks. I believe it has helped me most beneficially by alkalinizing my body, in which a lot of symptoms seemed to have cleared up, like psoriasis and metal allergies liver problems. I have also done 1-2 liver cleanses with each MC. I have only felt better and better while doing this type of cleanse. I am on my feet at work running constantly and have never had a lack of energy at all. I may be an exception, but there are support groups that will help keep one on track while experiencing these fasts or cleanses. G Murray P.S. I also ingest my daily allotment of silver but do so after the nightly tea. scl...@netzero.net wrote: Fasting if done properly gives the body a chance to get rid of toxins stored in the liver, kidneys, skin, etc Transitioning slowly from solid food to juice to water is preferable so the body can adjust. Re: CSpeirced ears
I tried pierced earings for several months they never healed at all. I tried the alcohol and peroxide, but it kept getting worse. I was putting earings through and more or less having to find a new hole because of the swelling. I found nylon earings and tried them but by that time the infection seemed to have such a strong hold I just gave up and tried to let them grow in. Now I have holes front and back with a large amount of scar tissue in the middle. I had hoped the nylon would have eventually made things better but they never seemed to get better until I took them right out. That was many years ago before I know of SC. Re: CSpeirced ears
Hi Garnet, You maybe right about the acidity. I went on the Master Cleanse (lemonade sweetened with maple syrup) for 10 days the first of July and have never felt better. I'm sure I had change my body's Ph. The spot under my watch clear up since then as well. It was always made worse with sweat. All my metal sensitivities have been made worse by sweat. I still get some sore spots where my glasses touch. I have nail polish on these spots and it helps until it flakes off. I'm probably not making it any better by using the nail polish as I'm probably getting a lot of toxins from that too. I need a safe alternative that's not going to cost $650.00 like the new Titanium frames with the appropriate lenses. : ( I have been doing mini cleanses every 2-3 weeks for 3-5 days with this lemonade and the health benefits have just been compounding. I have lost 30 lb. over all and fit into clothes that I could not fit in for about 9 years. I have also been doing a liver flush with each cleanse and no longer feel tired after eating and the pain to my shoulder blade and under arm has disappeared as well as the chronic diarrhea I've had since the disappearance of my gallbladder 7 years ago. I suggest that this is a good cleanse for ay one wanting to detoxify. Even just adding a lemonade a day to alkalinize the body. Garnet wrote: Is your system possibly too acidic? Re: CSpeirced ears
Hi Sol, Like Garnet said the body in an acid state may be the culprit. As I alkalinized my body it seemed to have gotten better. Watches are the only jewelry piece I have worn since the ear piercing. I have usually worn plastic frames but went with metal this last set or two. I'll have to try Garnets other suggestion for aquarium silicone, that might also help, as the nail polish only lasts a few days before it flakes off. G Murray sol wrote: This sounds like classic nickel allergy. I have it and react to all the same things. I can wear 14 kt gold (yellow gold, I react to some white gold) and I can wear sterling silver, but only if the entire earring is sterling, and no other metal or alloy touches me at all. The backs of watches bother me too.And sometimes the clasp of a sterling necklace or the attachment rings to the clasp will be alloys to which I am allergic. I have to make sure my eyeglasses have only plastic temples, as metal temples give me raw sores where they touch. -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. Re: CSGatorade (homemade) and CS results
Hi Sol, I think the reason that you would not add salt to the start of your cs batch is the chloride that is with the sodium, making silver chloride, which is bad. I have never really heard of the sodium causing bad effects. Now, I don't know if gatorade has chloride in it I have never checked. Hi Bill, It's funny you should mention it, as I seem to have the same problem when I run Norton Internet Security during a full scan. It seems to be working to protect the machine and I can do daily virus updates but It wont do a full system scan saying I'm out of virtual memory.
