Well I've now finished the last two stories in skeleton Crew, The ballad of the flexible bullet and The reach. flexible bullet I did rather like. The start is ponderous and most of the people at the cocktail party are just place holders really to react to the story the old editer is telling, but the story he tells is quite a unique one. I did spot some typical kingisms,  like the obsession with writers and writing, though some of the observations about madness were fun. Beware! spoiling spoilers ahoy! One thing I found a little odd was that King  randomly imply the little boy was controlled by something perhaps the evil Fornits, however he just seemed to be behaving like a typical sadistic six year old brat, indeed while Redge the writer  wy over board with shooting at the kid, not to mention shooting his wife twice, I  can't blame him for getting irritated when he sees a child behaving like a monster upon finding 
 a helpless alien creature. One thing I did find a bit odd in this story as well was the way he dealt, or didn't deal with women, at the cocktail party though he names both women (and interestingly enough not the men), they are still only talked about in narration as "the writer's wife" and "the agent's wife" which was a little off, especially since he makes the point of how nice a person the writer's wife is.Similarly, Jayne, Redge the insane author's wife we're told a lot about that is admirable, in particular how she loves her husband, however other than doing laundry and writing pleading letters to the editer on her husbands' behalf we didn't really see her do much or have a lot of personality of her own, which contrasted rather oddly with how much she was talked about. This in fairness is something I've seen with some of Kings' female characters, but it struck me as odd here given how much
  of a  part Jayne plays in the story.The reach was cute, and surprisingly gentle for King. There is something though that troubles me about the story and it took me a while to put my finger on it. It is almost too! folksy for it's own good. The hole "the island takes care of its own" and all the "this is cousin Jo who's mother I knew" the insularity, even down to when the ghosts turned up I actually found a little more unsettling just in terms of how  and completely inward looking it is, especially with how King tells us that the people on the island are quite happy to murder physically handicapped babies just as readily as child molesters. Maybe its me I don't know, but I've always found that "this place looks after its own, the local geographical feature of note is in person x's bones, all the men have  same job like their fathers before them and all the women exist to look after the homes like their mo
 thers" a bit disconcerting, if not actually slightly repellent. Then again for someone who grew up in a large city and then moved  a large university and now has friends all over the country maybe its just an environmental difference.And that wraps it up for Skeleton crew. I'll probably stick another king short story collection onto my victor soon enough next time I'm in the mood for some short horror, since  I didn't like everything, there was some good stuff here.Next up, later today my lady and I will start the green mile,  I'll likely save my comments on  until we've finished it.

Some very valid points here. I should have probably mentioned that this project wasn't meant as something big. It's already gone far beyond what I invisioned, even with the amount of people playing. That's quite humbling. I was working on the FPS and encountered a problem, so wanted to get my mind off of that and create a short, quick game I could release in a week or two.That week has now turned into months and I keep having that thought of this not being what I wanted to end up doing. I thought I would release it, fix some bugs for a few weeks maybe and have time to work on the FPS. But it seems like people are expecting more than that.Because of this I think it's crucial that I start working on the game's open source release. I love this game, but probably not as much as some of you do. i hardly play it anymore, only like others said, for 10 minutes to jump some ramps and grab some coins. I was trying to learn my environment and it w
 orked, I wasn't trying to make an amazing game. But it's spiraling for some reason.Although most suggestions should be pretty easy to implement, like the time factor or the length factor, to a point where the game will have an end. Something to look forward to, something to cause a break, no matter what. But again, i was more designing the game after something like Lane Splitter - and I had never reached an end in that game.So I guess we'll see where this project goes. I'd much rather focus more on my FPS, if I'm completely honest. I'm so much more thrilled about that, but I see a lot of people enjoy this game a lot as well so I don't want to let anyone down. Hello!Maybe someone can provide me some info about a Eurofly problem which I have encountered several times now.Sometimes when I am on a long flight it takes much longer than expected. Off course I always use the turbo mode on such flights, but even if I accelerate to 10.000 km/h the flight often takes much longer than it should.By pressing d both the flown distance as well as the elapsed time are announced.There are flights when I fly only 7000 kilometers in one hour even if my speed is 10.000 from the beginning. However, this does not happen all the times, sometimes I am much quicker.Maybe someone knows about this problem – the only idea that I have is that wind is somehow influencing the speed, but I am not sure about this.Greetings from Daniel!

Ghorth, the same thing happens with many other games that get released. We don't get as many games as sighted do, so we all jump on the games that we do get and want them to be something big. If you don't feel like making it into that, that's fine. If you want a break, nobody can stop you. What you've made is already good. Not amazing, but it's a small game that you play for a few minutes to relax. That's fine too!

I tested it hovever and gave this results:Deletion of me created zone was done succesfully, algorithm removed it reliably, hooray!Deletion of biom zone was successful too, for better imagination forest size is 100*100, and three blocks above the ground are always zoned as forest, this all was successfully removed, hooray!And finally, deletion of cutted tree zone, hem, application crashed, wtf?Really, I stand in a tree zone, pressed ctrl+r and program crashed, when removing zone of a normal tree. And this is happening again and again, nowhere else, just when removing tree zone, it does have problems. I can not understand it. Only explanation I do have is, that some limit of recursive calls was passed, hovever why, when
  removing of whole biom zone did not made problems? Is there something like recursive limit, so this theory is possible? I really haven't imagination how many blocks of trees are zoned, one tree is about 12 blocks tall and about 7 wide, zone is allways used to distance of two blocks from object, hovever trees are relatively near themselves, so zones of few trees can be joined to one large, or it can be also from few tens of trees, it depends how thicky is forest generated.Hovever, that is not important, if there is zone from more trees, algorithm should to delete it full, not crash the application. Hi,that is not problem, but feature. Eurofly dev has discussed influence of a wind to aircraft with real pilot, and did similar mechanism in Eurofly. Winds are often used by pilots to long flights, especially above oceans, because in high altitudes are strong winds and when these are blowing from behind of you, they are speeding up your aircraft, so you are saving fuel. Hovever it also works reversed, when wind is blowing from infront of you, it is slowing down your aircraft. Good pilot can track this and fly from altitude to altitude depend on wind strength, so when wind is from infront, he descend to altitude where it is weaker, when it is from back, he goes up to go faster. Wind from sides does not affect your aircraft, so don't scare you will be out of course. Hope it helps.Best regardsRastislav

hello everyone, I saw this thread and just thought I'd weigh in here since this is a topic that peaks my interest thoroughly which is why I became a mudder in I believe 2009 or so. The reason I love roleplaying so much is because it quite literally allows you to do things and go places you would never even think of doing or going in real life. On that knote, when I play roleplaying games, and by the way, I would love to play dungeons and dragons, but the audio chat room has gone away and they just haven't brought it back which stinks. As I was saying though another reason I love roleplaying so much is because it allows you to think such things as hmm, if I had powers and abilities like this in real life, what would I do with them? how would I use them? for example, when I play some sort of mud, I never ever ever play an evil character. I'm always the guy wielding the sword and on the side of law and order. Usually the paladin or warrier, and if the world allows it, 
 a warrier mage wielding both sword and magic proficiently. Another plug here, I absolutely love anything that iron realms entertainment does because their muds are so in depth and well written, and you can really do a lot in their worlds and I'm looking forward to seeing starmourn come out. In achaea for example, my character is a paladin named quanshee. Well that's my two cents for what they're worth, this is a fun topic. Would it be cool if I shared my experiences in achaea as the character quanshee? that is, it would be Quanshee speaking and sharing his life here. Let me know, and if it's not cool that's okay too if you'd rather I create a separate thread for that.

If you have infinite recursion, it can crash the program with stack overflow. You could print a message every time the function is called, so that when it crashes, you have an idea of if it's stack overflow or not.

Hi, nice game. I had an idea. Why not just make an off-line version of the universe mode? You could replace human players with AI players. I really think it would be cool, because if you finish the story mode it would be nice to have something like that just to mess around with. I know it won't be as good as the real game, but I think it would just be awesome to have a game that reminds me of mass  effect Andromeda.

Again what I can gather from post 16 is that the game is not playable. Areas are wide open and there's just no way they are easier to navigate even if some sounds are upgraded. I did some digging and found out that the controls are the same as in the original RE4, so going left or right will only turn your character in that direction, so there's no way for you to know which way you're facing. Plus, when you bump into a wall, the character keeps walking. So we might as well forget about this game being playable. To the OP, I managed to kill the last boss on ps2 by spamming the button to grab items while walking to grab the rocket, then center the boss and shoot.

Philip probably had no idea was he would've gotten into, but probably thought just as much as it is a legitimate offer why turn it down? I suppose it would only make financial sense for him. Turns out it ended probably as he never intended it to, i e, q9 was tied into an expensive package. @Garret and all others detracting q9 as it were, you gotta remember, this was 2009, and the game was written in c++. It's not something that could've been cranked out like a bgt game could be. Coding in c++ is a pretty overwhelming task, which is the main reason he made bgt, to simplify things and make something that is designed with audiogames in mind, that takes care of all the low-level functions required for the average game (sound handling, keyboard input, text to speech, you name it.) So coding a game l
 ike q9 took a lot more time. As for whether it holds up to today's standards? Say what you will, but I say definitely yes. Sure, it's not Adventure at C:, but it certainly holds up to today's standards a lot more than some other titles do.

I of course wish that all blind players encouter a playing with mouse, it is really fantastic and can not be defeated by any keys, because you do have more accuracy in your hand, than in pressing the keys. For first, rotation is very important. Of course, normally person doesn't have compass, but he does have eyes. So he don't need
  to know where is north, south or west, he know where is infront, where left and right. Hovever this is not case of stw. If you rotate yourself in stw to direction different than 0, 90, 180 or 270, you are getting lost, because your orientation is totally broken, and your can not fix it. Sighted person, when he turns to some specific angle always returns back, knowing where to rotate from trees around, from mountains in farness etc. Heh, I want to see you how you find your original direction in stw from direction of tree.In Blindcraft, this is possible because it do have full 3d. And this is again a difference from STW. I am not talking about audio now, I am talking about the surround. Tree is a good example. Let's compare what do means tree in STW and what do means tree in Bc. If you do have tree in Stw, you can climb there, you can cut it, you can break your bike on it. Hovever, when you climb that tree, you aren't climbing real tree. From programs side, there is a

Hi everyone, just letting you know that while the original release of Madden 18 doesn't have anything new for you, we're adding additional accessibility options in our first title update, which is coming soon after launch.This will include additional rumble and audio for the kick meter, plus rumble to indicate play type of suggested plays. This means you should be able to kick the ball with no issue and know how well you kicked the ball. It also allows you to use suggested plays and know if you selected a run or kick play - so you don't have to memorize the advanced menus unless you want to. You'll also know exactly when snap occurred.I've literally blindfolded the game play test team to test this, and they were able to win the game with these changes.  I was able to get touchdowns using only rumble - my TV was totally off.I'll give more updates as we move closer to release. The semantics are a bit tricky to explain, but I'll try my best.When you start a new program, such as a game, a command prompt, or any other program out there, interpreted or otherwise, it is always allocated two things: heap memory and stack memory. Heap memory is a dynamic store of memory that can be allocated and deallocated at any time. If you create a new variable, heap memory is allocated for it. If you then delete that variable, the memory is returned to the heap for reallocation later; it is not "truly" deleted. Instead, "true" deletion happens when the program exits by either crashing or exiting normally. However, beware that heap memory allocation is random. If you allocate a variable with the address 0xfff7, the chance that the next variable you allocate will be at address 0xfff8 is incredibly slim, and rarely ever happens.The next part is stack memory. The
  stack is where all the really interesting things happen. (The stack is also known as the 'call stack'.) The call stack keeps track of all the active functions (those that have been called but have not yet terminated) from the start of the program to the current point of execution, and handles allocation of all function parameters and local variables. The stack can be visualized using the plate analogy:Consider a stack of plates in a cafeteria. Because each plate is heavy and they are stacked, you can really only do one of three things:1) Look at the surface of the top plate2) Take the top plate off the stack (exposing the one underneath, if it exists)3) Put a new plate on top of the stack (hiding the one underneath, if it exists)The stack is almost like an array, but, whereas an array lets you modify elements in any order you want, the stack is very limited. The stack only has three main operations that can be performed: topping (or peeking),

This simply makes the stack larger, as when the function is called, it is pushed onto the stack. So then it calls itself again and again, and pushes more and more of itself

Hello.Well actually, At the moment, Or i better say since a bit a go(a fiew days maybe), I've been thinking why most of the game developers (At the moment, Sam and ivan i mean), kepped using some sort of sounds in their games that are really not realistic. I think they can use some better sounds for there development. I know how hard sam tupy and his friends designed and edited those sounds, But things may be more realistic if for example, Sam changes the shotgun sound in redspot. Or ivan soto changes the machine gun sound in the killer. Since 2015 or at least since when i learnt these games and got into them actually, We had these footstep sounds this long. Why not changing them, Oh btw before anyone tell me that how hard is doing that, And devs need to buy new libraries but with which money? Or stop playing the game if you don't like i want to say that i know all these stuff lol but these opinians were suggestions. Not a force or something.Another thing tha

But i think devs can make their players feel better about their games. Like my suggestion is that when a player makes an account(enters the game), they don't have no more than a simple pistol.  r's guns. And other guns may be found on polices hands. Yeah, I mean AI's that may shoot players if they do something wrong(In this case, Shooting at them or others). Each player may have some money, And when a player kills another player, He/she may get their money, And buy stuff from the "stores" around the game. Each store may have a shopkeeper(Which is an AI), then player will buy stuff from the shopkeeper. Shopkeepers need to be able to die when they get hit by bullets or similler things, But that should not be easy. Shopkeepers have to be equipped very well so not everyone dares to do anything wrong to them. (In this case, Getting help from alter aeon's gameplay)Players should have clothings like stw, But they should not be for fun. They have to raise or decrease player stats like max HP, Their defense and their damage or strength. Also players may be able to steel others cars and by the way! If you mean the old note takers that are Windows Based, as far as I know yes, there is an SDK. But it was only available on request and you first had to demonstrate that you know how to program to obtain it. I read this. years ago on a Polish site specialising in AT news. For the Polaris, you shouldn't need one as it's Android based so you can just program using the standard Android SDK.

According to all the sources I use, there are several because none are 100% accurate, Speed 2: Cruise Control was never released on DVD or Blue Ray with audio description. So your only hope is if a broadcaster like the BBC or Sky TV decides to have it audio described in preparation for broadcasting and somebody decides to capture the audio.

"How to program in Java" is wonderfully nonspecific. In one sense, it's kinda like C++, except everything is in classes and you don't have to worry about garbage collection or pointers. Except then you have Java turning everything into classes, including class creation, until you have to define a 5-class deep hierarchy just to do some simple thing, like catch an exception that you were just going to read the message for in the first place. I can't tell if Android programming is more like programming, or more like classes all the way up.

It might be a tendency for flare to trump overall design in game development, but I've never found a propper 3d audio game to be very accessible at all. It's sort of an uncanny valley thing, where all you have is HRTF, and it is just realistic enough to be confusing and make things like inaudible walls all the more troublesome. The way Swamp does it, IMO, communicates much better than any of the HRTF-enabled games I've played, even though most of the latter include spoken messages to try and help.In real life, if it can be helped, we don't ever navigate by sound alone—there's texture and proprieception and the way the air moves, smells, and the way sound is affected by the environment (something I have yet to hear in a game, probably because the calculations are kinda extreme). 3d sound alone changes nothing but to distinguish the y/z directions. That's great and all, but so far, it's been a gimmick rather than especially useful.I'm walking around as I type this, between 2 rooms and a hallway. I have neither taken my hands away from the phone, nor ran into  anything, except the one moment I realized I was doing what I was talking about and so my knee picked that moment to find a protruding couch-cushion. When I play free-movement HRTF games without Swamp-style direction-snapping and sonar, I find myself desperately wanting a "put the wall you keep hitting on your left/right" button after 5 minutes of getting lost. So yeah, Swamp doesn't have HRTF, but it lets you align to the compass (IRL you'd do this via walls, curbs, or the sun), and the radar functions a lot like a simplified cane. If we could 'find a way around needing these features, great! It hasn't really been demonstrated, so far as I can tell.

yes, the controls are exactly the samei tried to play re 4, with all my heart, but it was not posible.some years ago i tried to play re 5, and that one was easier. i reached chapter 4 with a crapload of patience, but the game is also umnplayable. i did it because i wanted to advance, but people.. walking 80 minutes to find a door don't know the english _expression_ for this, but i'll say i had lots of time in my hands indeed

Firstly you'll need a Braille Note that has Keynote Gold such as the MPower. Then somehow you interface that with NvDA. If you don't have the device, you can't do it that way, and there is no reliable software implementation of it on Windows that I know of.

I agree. Probably not one of Philip's smarter decisions. As for the game I definitely enjoyed it a great deal. Heck, I did a let's play of it on YouTube a while back LOL. I still have my registration (although remembering on which specific storage device I backed it up may take a while), so I'm spared the necessity of buying the overpriced scripts. I won't go so far as to say that JFW isn't worth the price, although after ten years of using Window-Eyes the switch back has been a little hard, more emotionally than anything else. But getting back on topic I love the atmosphere of the game not to mention the music.

Hi Simba. There are bomber platforms above. If you have the sonar thing you can detect them. If you walk underneath these platforms, it starts the bombs falling and if you hang around underneath them you won't live long. Carla doesn't set them off, nor do enemies, only you do. The trick is to use your sonar to know where they are, then speed past them and fight in  the space between each one.

I think what I did was once I saw the platforms, I just grappled up to the top and walked across there. No speed necessary, just make sure Carla isn't underneath.

not sure what happened to the dev of a dark room iOS and Ensign

Hi all,I recently started playing A Dark Room and the Ensign again.I wanted to relive what hapened when these games were made accessible, and re-read what the dev had put on the subject. However, I have noticed, that his big post about the blind community seems to ahve vanished from his website. In fact, his website is no longer a blog and seems to have completely changed, but it is still, definitely, him, that much I can tell. I think he once had reddit but even the posts on that are gone.I don't know what's happening now, and it'll be a shame if some of this info has been lost to time again. At least for now we've still got the games.

Don't get Adblock plus. Their motive isn't completely driven by people who hate and despise ads, and will allow businesses to pay them to not block ads. Get Ublock Origin instead, if you want a true ad blocker.

Hi.An extra step would be to not only have a BrailleNote Classic or BrailleNote mPower, but you'd also need a cable with serial on one end and USB on the other. You'd have to go to Remote Synthesizer on these devices in order to interface it with a screen reader of your choice. Sorry Apex users, you don't have Remote Synthesizer on there. Alternatively you could TRY to find a Keynote SA hardware synthesizer somewhere. Older BrailleNote units are found pretty cheaply these days, so those would be your best bet.

I just use the MVPS hosts file from MVPS.org, and I get no ads, and the nice thing about it is that it works with all browsers because it blocks the ads  at the TCP/IIP protocol driver. No additional software to slow down your browser is needed, assuming the software even supports your choice of browser in the first place. It simply uses a feature that's been built into the protocol driver since Windows 95 and probably earlier.
