Divorce certainly did happen back then, even among Catholics. I'm sure it was
not sanctioned by the Church, as it isn't today but it did happen. And it
wasn't uncommon for people to have themselves listed as widow or widower in the
census rather than divorced. In that non-electronic age,
but you should, at least, be up front about it.

There are several ways of doing this, but the easiest is to copy the entire
image. Once you have the image up that contains the record you want, simply
right-mouse click on it, bringing up a menu of options. One option should be

If you aren't aware of the importance of Alien Registration Forms to your
research, you should know what a wonderful resource they can be! Briefly, ARs
began to be required in 1940 as a way to identify all non-citizens living in
the United States. They registered at their local Post Office.

his research of the genealogy of some of the Flemish colonists. He

named Quiteria Felicia and went by the name of Gertrude here in the

Actually there are a few genealogy programs for the Mac. It used to be
that Reunion was the only one. It is probably still the most popular.

What a great story In pursuing this wonderful hobby/obsession, I have
encountered many wonderful people who have shared with me. I try to do the same
as my main purpose in doing all this is to preserve my family's history so that
these people won't get just lost in time. It sounds
