Hey,
There is a male ''Eurasian'' Green-winged Teal in a flooded field near Port
Franks this morning. The field is 500 m south of Port Franks Road, along Hwy 21
- look for the big cell-phone tower adjacent.
The creek just overtopped yesterday and has produced some excellent waterbird
habitat.
Hey,
I counted 21 White-fronts this morning in the Greenway Road area, south of
Grand Bend, along with an est. 12,500 Tundra Swan and many other waterfowl. The
geese were in flocks of 6 (at the junction of Blain and Haig, off River Road)
and 12 and 3 flying east over River Road towards
Hey,
Although not rare in fall anywhere in the south these days, a single adult
White-front persists in North Lambton, a good bird for January.
Today I had it flying over Northville Road, about a km west of Thedford, with
2200 Canadas. It has been wide ranging and has been seen at the Port
absent. A moderate Herring
Gull passage contained my first-for-fall Iceland Gull - a 1st cycle bird.
Waterfowl were dominated by Bufflehead (475) and Common Goldeneye (150).
