interferon ~ does anyone use daily vs 7 days on/off???

2007-08-04 Thread laurieskatz
Isabella finished her current 7 days ON interferon on Wednesday. She has been meowing a bit more yesterday and today and has seemed a bit uncomfortable again. Our vet was going to research and advise whether we can use interferon continuously. We have not heard and it's the weekend. We did

If I may, my vet and I don't like the steroid injections. He says they give the body many more times med than the kitty can absorb AND if there is a bad reaction, no way to change the dose or discontinue. Daily pred is preferred by him as doseage can be adjusted if needed. Just my 2 cents.

Hi all. Isabella is improving again. She is on interferon 7 days on and 7 days off. We opted for transdermal prednisone (once a day) and transdermal tramadol (twice a day). She hates pills. She gets transfer factor sprinkled on her canned food. We have finally found a food she LOVES ~ it's

Yes someone said they use human. We use feline and it comes with a scoop. My vet looked at ingredients and said fine to use. It's an immune booster and ok to use with alpha interferon. We sprinkle on top of small amont of canned food. I am sure a cat would eat it alone. It is very palatable.
