I am on Windows XP using acrobat pro 7 and I have no PDF problems
whatsoever. You can't blame the PDF output - the problem seems to be the
Preview program on Mac.
At least you ask the question yourself - Another issue for PDF on screen
(actually, I just need it for printing most of the time, and
I have no problems with Finale and PDF on Windows. I use Acrobat pro 7 and
sometimes do 30 PDFs a day. They are crisp and clean. Don't blame Finale -
check your program and settings.

God I'm glad I started this thread. Really - how about MakeMusic and

You don't have to wait.
While I find that new bugs come with every new version of Finale, good
things come as well. So I update at once. You don't have to hope the old
bugs will be fixed, neither in your old or the new version. But you get some
goodies anyway. So its a winner situation, if not
if it wasn't so slow to load the presets of - say -
Garritan BigBand.
So I would be glad if others shared my opinion and we could make Finale
better...

I copied the GPO big band to Finale's VST folder, and it gets
recogniced. However, to use it, I have to load the sounds into GPO.
Does that really mean I have to check first in the instrument list

I ordered Finale 2006 some weeks ago - when will it be out, actually? I
just was on the makemusic site and read that Mac EPS has been improved
(embedding of PS and truetype fonts).
what the..!? And I have been waiting for how much? seven or eight years to
get EPS export back for
I really hoped Finale would get professional again and fix the EPS support
after about 10 years...:-(
I ordered it believing this would happen, but I guess I will have to switch
to Sibelius finally... (They got it to work, so they really must be the
better programmers). Sh*t! I NEED EPS

I saw this while cleaning my mail box. I use Switzerland Condensed a lot in
lyrics. It's so narrow I can switch to 14 pt. and the lyrics are much more
readable than using the default font.
It's not free but you may find a free substitute. However, it is not so
expensive to buy single fonts

Hi,
I just did a transcription of the guitars in Average White Band's Cut The
Cake... However, when I copied the TABs that I had set up for playability
and sound into a new file I noticed that all this information was lost:
Finale just assigned the lowest frets possible instead of leaving them
