Hello Kenny,

You should install the Kitchen's Inc games to c:\Program Files
(x86)\Kitchensinc. If you accidently installed them to c:\Program
Files\Kitchensinc move them to c:\Program Files (x86)\Kitchensinc.

Cheers!

Yes, and my Windows games that started out as dos games still have most of the

Hi Kenny,

Please run the uninfoot.bat file again and again install the winNFL3.exe file

Using alt f4 to close the game, and, or, not entering a name for your coach

Hi Trouble,

The VB 6 runtime is installed when you install Winkit. Therefore Jim
doesn't need a separate download and install. Although, I will say the
version of the VB 6 libs that come with Winkit are out of date. The
latest version is VB 6 SP6 and the runtime that comes with Winkit is
older. So I generally recommend updating the runtime to the latest in
any case. However, that doesn't seem to be his problem here.

I've got NFL on a Windows 7 64-bit laptop, my new Toshiba, and it
works fine once User Account Control is disabled. So I do know it will
work on a modern PC running Win 7.

I tried playing it on computer until I found the super football, it has
many good things like its name is football game.
but, really it's a very boring game, also, no competitions or something
inside the game, no updates, and the support team is not good.
also, when playing, no intertainment at all, cause computer will do all
things for you, u can't control the ball at all,
Just when the player speak s from the right you will send the ball right
etc.
also, can't play online at all, can't find any parteners.
so, now can't we find any other good football game for blinds?

really I love this game, and if I find one I will buy it soon.

Re: [Audyssey] Football game please

2010-04-12 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Ramy,

Below are the instructions that come with my football game. I hope that they
might help you to get started. If you have any more specific questions, please
feel free to write or call and ask.

Game instructions.
You will first be asked to choose the voices for the announcer, your
quarterback, your opponents quarterback, your punter and your opponents punter.
You will then be asked to enter the name of your coach.
Finally you will be asked to choose which team you will be for the season and
then it is time to play.

Football instructions.
The object of the game of football is to score more points than your opponent.
There are several ways to score points.
One way is to run or pass the ball over your opponents goal line.
This is called a touchdown and is worth six points.
After a touchdown you are given the choice of going for the extra point kick or
a two point conversion.
In both cases you start on your opponents two yard line.
The extra point kick you simply kick the ball through your opponents goal post.
For the two point conversion you must run or pass the ball over your opponents
goal line.
Another way to score points is called a field goal, which is when you kick the
ball through your opponents goal post.
It is worth three points.
You should remember that the goal post is located at the back of the end zone,
which is ten yards deep.
Also when you set up to kick a field goal you set the ball down seven yards
back from the yard line that you are on.
So you will want to add seventeen yards when figuring the distance for kicking
a field goal.
The longest field goal ever kicked was sixty one yards.
The last way to score points is worth two points and is called a safety.
You score a safety by tackling your opponent in his own end zone.
The game of football has four quarters of fifteen minutes each. Or in this
game twenty five to thirty five plays each quarter.
You will get a two minute warning before the end of the second and fourth
quarter. After the two minute warning there will be approximately five plays
before the quarter ends.
The football field is one hundred yards long. There are lines every ten yards
and they are labeled, ten twenty thirty forty fifty, forty thirty twenty and
ten.
The game begins with the kick off. As does the second half or third quarter.
Depending on who wins the coin toss, you or your opponent will catch the kick
off in your own end zone. You then decide wether to run the ball out or down
it in the end zone. If you down it in the end zone you will then begin on your
own twenty yard line. If you win the coin toss and receive the kick off you
are now the offensive team and you try to move the ball by running or passing
it down the field towards your opponents goal line. As you try to move the
ball down the field you get four downs or plays to move the ball ten yards. If
you do so, it is called a first down and you get four new downs to move the
ball another ten yards. If it is fourth down you would be advised to punt
(kick) the ball away to your opponent, because if you do not and you do not
make enough yards on fourth down to get a first down the ball is turned over to
your opponent at that point on the field.
There are sixteen games in the regular season of football. If you have the
best record of all of the teams in your division, you move on to the play offs.
There are also four wild card teams that make it into the play offs. The wild
card teams are the two teams with the best records in the A. F. C. that did not
win their division, as well as the two teams with the best records in the N. F.
C. that did not win their divisions. If you make it into the play offs, you
hopefully win until you win the A. F. C. or N. F. C. championship game. The
last game is the Super Bowl game where the A. F. C. champion plays the N. F. C.
champion for that seasons championship title.

football terminology.
Backfield: The area behind the line of scrimmage.
Backpedal: Backward running to drop into pass coverage.
Blitz: A pass rush involving defensive backs or linebackers.
Block: An offensive player moves a defensive player away from the ball.
Bootleg: A play where the quarterback fakes a handoff and runs around the tight

Bump and Run: A pass defense in which the defender bumps the receiver at the

Center: The middle offensive lineman that snaps the ball to the quarterback.
Cornerback: One of two defensive backs positioned on the outside corners of the

Defense: The team without the ball. The defense tries to get the ball back and

Defensive backs: The cornerbacks and safeties behind the linebackers.
Defensive ends: The two players at the end of the defensive line.

 Hi Dark,

I know that you were just spoofing, but to set the record straight. I
have lived in this apartment building since March 1987. The building is a

government subsidized HUD building, so I pay approximately one third of my

SSDI check for rent. The building has 76 apartments, all on one level and

is shaped like a large square C with a court yard in the center of the C.
In the courtyard we have a pavilion, grills etc. I guess the large C
shape is so that helicopters and airplanes know that they are over Chardon

when they fly over. The city of Chardon is the county seat of Geauga
county in Ohio. The largest city near Chardon is Cleveland Ohio USA.

BTW I am the Vice Chairman, board of commissioners, Geauga Metropolitan
Housing Authority. You can listen to our board meetings from my web site
where it says click here for the GMHA board meetings.

Now for my credit card, I always always immediately pay off any amount I
ever charge on it. You know before I have to pay any intrust.

I do support the tobacco growers though. Have since I started smoking
when I was 15. Well except for those 5 years when I had quit.

I can not even imagine how many hours over the last thirty years I have
spent learning, experimenting and coding computer games. You know along
with looking for, recording and editing sound files for them. Oh yeah and

Try Jim Kitchen's football game. It's found at

www.kitchensinc.net

in the section of free text to speech Windows games. On offense, you choose

from a list of plays, and on defense, well, you defend. It's a good fun
free game with good sounds. Be sure to download and install the other
necessary files first, as described at the site. And, while you're at it,
try the other free games from there, too. There's a lot of fun to be found
there. HTH.

 hi all;

really I love football so much and I need to play it on computer, while I
was at school we were playing football, but now no hope. so
I tried playing it on computer until I found the super football, it has
many good things like its name is football game.
but, really it's a very boring game, also, no competitions or something
inside the game, no updates, and the support team is not good.
also, when playing, no intertainment at all, cause computer will do all
things for you, u can't control the ball at all,
Just when the player speak s from the right you will send the ball right
 etc.
also, can't play online at all, can't find any parteners.
so, now can't we find any other good football game for blinds?

really I love this game, and if I find one I will buy it soon.

Hi Jim.

Sorry Jim, but charles' request for a free game just got my thoughts running

I've also learnt something today, sinse I'm afraid i'd not heard of the city
of Chardon before, I've read books and seen films set in cleaveland,
but this is the first I've heard of Chardan.

In fairness though Durham isn't the most famous city in England either.

Having had this flat sinse may of 2007, the notion of being in the same
place for 23 years is actually a trifle scary! (I'm stil not certain this is
where I'll be staying).

Hi Dark,

No need to apologize, like I said, I knew that you were just spoofing.

Yes, if a person is not from northeast Ohio, they would not have heard of

for making maple syrup. Our annual maple syrup festival is coming up.

This is a very nice building and nice friendly no crime place to live. But yeah only
two people have lived in this building longer than me. And heck, I kind of know my

I tried playing it on computer until I found the super football, it has

but, really it's a very boring game, also, no competitions or something
inside the game, no updates, and the support team is not good.
also, when playing, no intertainment at all, cause computer will do all
things for you, u can't control the ball at all,
Just when the player speak s from the right you will send the ball right

also, can't play online at all, can't find any parteners.
so, now can't we find any other good football game for blinds?

really I love this game, and if I find one I will buy it soon.

Hi Jason,

I would recommend that you uninstall the football game by running the
uninfoot.bat file and then install the game again from my web site.

Make sure that you enter a valid name for your coach and never use the alt f4
key to exit the game.

If it still doesn't run without the error, I don't know what to say. I have
never ever been able to reproduce that error and the game does run fine for
lots of people.

2009-05-06 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Steve and Ron,

I know that some people get that error right after the first kick off and some
don't. I have not ever gotten it. And I have never been able to figure out
why some people do. I know that it is not just a Vista thing or any other
system thing that I can put my finger on. I also can not figure out why if it
is a code thing that it doesn't do it on all computers all the time. The only
two little things that I can think of is if one entered nothing or something
weird for the name of the coach or if one has used the alt f4 key to close the
game.

I am sorry that I don't have any better answers, or any solutions.

Oh yeah and thank you for giving me what the error message was. That does kind
of sound like to me that the coach name is causing it, but not sure.

Post the error message so Jim will have some clue of what you're talking

for most of these an appropriate error message is generated. Without the

Hi Claudio,
No, the site is
www.footstar.org
You then click on Join, but it is there where they want your address, maybe
just make one up. Don't forget to choose Switzerland as your country on the
home page, and, because I see English is not your first language, you can
change the language of the game on the Home Page as well. I'm just curious,
but are you Italian, your surname sounds like that. You can also try
Hattrick football game
www.hattrick.org
I'll really enjoy chatting to you about the game, since I love football!
Goal!!

Hi Orin,
First, is this our football or American football? How accessible is it, are
you just starting out? Maybe, if you're still trying to work stuff out, I
should join your team, the whole blind thing? This is one point I wish
accessible game developers in other countries would really take seriously,
but I do not mean just one or two people, I mean the whole blind community.
I can understand why football is not so great for our American brothers,
but, large European blind organisations like RNIB, ONCE and others should
really work together and make a cool football game, one that would have real
players, clubs, World Cup, Champion's League, great AI, easily updated
everytime for new players, online playability, commentary, etc. Practically,
I think that would benefit the whole blind world, in that football is an
international game. There is super Football, but I really don't count that
as propper football, in that it's more a sort of bord thing with fixed
positions. I don't know the exact ways in which a football game could work,
but I imagine things like you can run with the ball, defenders would be
sounds, react before you get tackled kind of thing, the nearer you are to an
oponent's goal the louder the crowd would get, I know it would be probably
quite a large project, but it would really be worth it with people
combining, especially as not much is going into developing games these days,
in the way that no new bord or any games have come out for ages from these
large organisations. Every year, the organisations could raise funds by
charging for an update with the latest players and stats. Perhaps Richard or
someone powerful in the audio games community who have contacts with these
organisations should really suggest it to them. I might be sounding totally
mad, but football is the world sport, all sporty blind people would surely
appreciate it?

2007-10-29 Thread Orin
Hi Ian,

I think people are missing my point here. I mean, I didn't say I was developing
a football game, I said that I found a pretty cool web based one where, instead
of controling teams, you control your own indevigual player on the field etc
and who knows, depending on the manager you may not play every match.
Just wanted to make this clear. Altough, since we're talking about it, I agree
with what Arie has said thus far. But in responce to joining a team, I don't
think I'll be controling one in this game anytime soon.

Re: [Audyssey] Football

2007-10-12 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Ronald,

Allot of defense is guess work and luck. Just like in real football you try to
guess what play the offence is going to run and then you pick the correct
defensive play to stop that. Sometimes though even if you pick the correct
play they just out play you and still make yardage. But other times your
defense works and they do not. There are some times like if it is third down
and 1 yard to go, I will normally pick the goal line defense. Again though it
may not work, but I would hate to give up a yard by not calling that play. And
if it is third down and like 15 yards I defend against the short pass. Mostly
I just try to pretend that it is a real game and I call my plays both offensive
and defensive as I would if I were coaching a real football team.

Hi Ron,

I just played the week 15 game, the Ravens verses the Browns. My Browns
fumbled on their first offensive play and on their next possession and on their
next. So the first three times that they had the ball they fumbled it. But
the defense did excellent and kept them from scoring too much and gave the
offence a chance to get back into the game which they did and the Browns ended
up winning the game 31 to 10. My Browns are now 15 and 0. One more win and it

Hello Jim. Started a season. My team the Chicago bears lost to texas 20
to 6. We got more yardage and pass completions then they did though.
Just hope it will get better as the season goes on.

Hello Ron good luck on the bears as well. I am 9 and 1 with the Eagles and I
had a perfect last season. However I lost to the patriots by 10 points
during the sixth week but that is bound to happen.
So good luck.

 Hi Ron,

I just played the week 15 game, the Ravens verses the Browns. My Browns
fumbled on their first offensive play and on their next possession and on
their next. So the first three times that they had the ball they fumbled
it. But the defense did excellent and kept them from scoring too much and
gave the offence a chance to get back into the game which they did and the
Browns ended up winning the game 31 to 10. My Browns are now 15 and 0.
One more win and it will be my first ever perfect season.

I do hope that your Bears can turn it around and that your season gets
 better.

Well if you pick a defensive play and the team loses yards then just stick
to that defense. However if the player gains allot of yards with that
defensive play then switch to a new defense. If that works then just stick
to that otherwise keep changing the plays until you can man handle the
opposing team.

Hello Thomas I probably would have picked the same plays as well run it from
the 5 yard line not a pass and I would have done a blitz on that play as
well to intercept the ball or sack him for a good loss.
Anyway I will report here how the eagles do in week 6 so far they are 5 and
0 and they beat the red skins in week 5 37 to3.
Anyway that's all for now.

 Hi Jason,
Now, that would rule. An online football game would rock between two
players like us. I really enjoy a game when it is challenging. Sometimes
the AI games don't have enough inteligence to really do the right plays
 or learn from mistakes.
For example, in a couple of games back the other team's quarterback
tried to do a pass at the 5 yard line. I never would have called a play
like that, and I thought then as I do now that was a stupid play. Well,
for that team it was faital. The ball was intercepted with in 10 yards
of the end zone, and I drove the ball home for a winning touch down.
In a game I played in a previous season the quarterback was around the
same place when he tried a pass and I sacked his rear back into the end
zone for a safety. Hardy har har har.

Re: [Audyssey] football score

2007-09-24 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Jason,
Well, ifyou are really pushed back to your own 5 yard line sometimes you
need to begin thinking defense not offence.
If I am back that far sometimes I figure it is best to get the ball as
far away from the end zone as possible. I'll puntt the ball in hopes of
pushing the team back. Yeah, they will have control of the ball, but at
worst they might score a field goal, but there is less than a touch down
if you fumble or were intercepted.
I am still playing week 8, and so far the score is 3 to 0 in the third
quarter, and 7 minuts are on the clock. So this is going to be a tight
game. Fortunately the Cowboys are in the lead, but just barely.

 Hi TJ,
Typically in Jim's Football game a simple goal line does wonders for
holding down the aposing teams offense. However, I do different
defensive plays depending on what I think the aposing team is going to
try. If I think they are going to do a running play I will try say a
goal line. If I think they are going for a pass I will do a defensive
pass formation in hopes of intercepting, blocking, or finding someway to
defend against the pass I think is coming.
Needless to say in my last game the Chief's made only one field goal. I
beat them 16 to 3. As of this morning the Cowboys have a 7 and 0
undefeated winning streak. I'm now number one for the NFC championship.

if that doesn't work on short pass then try setting up screens and then

Hi, Gamers I play week 5 of Jim's NFL and won 37 to3 the redskins had 3
points and the Eagles had 37 points whichincluded a safety. The eagles
also dominated the line of scrimmage pushing the redskins back on allot of
yardage sometimes I used blitz, goal line long run at times and short run.
for the offense I use the bread and butter offense witch was run pass run
pass. Then I switched to a delaware wing tee which I ran the ball and
passed a few times. Then during the 2 minute warning I used an aireal
attack and threw the ball all the time. Plus I used the power eye at times
 as well.
So there is week 5's winnings I will report week 6 and game 2 of the
baseball game when finished playing them.

Re: [Audyssey] football score

2007-09-20 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi TJ,
Typically in Jim's Football game a simple goal line does wonders for
holding down the aposing teams offense.

I always end up losing by a touchdown at the end or so, becuse I can't block

Re: [Audyssey] football score

2007-09-20 Thread jason
Hi Tj unfortunately you can't run formations in Kitchen's game how ever what
I would do is use the defensive play that best works for you. I was saying
those different formations because when you use those plays in football in
the real game they form a formation.
Anyway the best thing I would is run and pass the ball at times that's what
usually wears a team down. Another way is just simply running the ball as
well.
I hople this helps

Hi, Gamers I play week 5 of Jim's NFL and won 37 to3 the redskins had 3
points and the Eagles had 37 points whichincluded a safety. The eagles
also dominated the line of scrimmage pushing the redskins back on allot
of yardage sometimes I used blitz, goal line long run at times and short
run. for the offense I use the bread and butter offense witch was run
pass run pass. Then I switched to a delaware wing tee which I ran the

 Hi Josh,

The same way that every one else is putting sound recordings of game play
up on send space, you send it or where ever. Start a program such as
 Gold
Wave, tell it to start recording, play the game, tell Gold Wave to stop
recording, edit the sound how you want it, save the file as an mp3 file
 and put it up.

If you have it you would use the wav out device. Unfortunately, Windows
