What I typically do is, using the Ellipse Selection Tool, I make a selection of
whatever size I need the circle to be and fill it with a color. From there, I
make a smaller selection within the first circle and clear it (Delete key or
Edit > Clear). Also, make sure that anti aliasing is checked
If the imagine is solid on your computer screen but has lines on your print,
then chances are that it's your printer that's at fault.

month or so until it just became second nature for me to use it. It shouldn't
take you that long to get used to it. However, if it bothers you that much,
there's a plugin you can install that'll add a new option "Save/E
Considering you said GIMP's been working up until today, I assume you upgraded
to 2.8.8, right? If so, it could just be a bug that made its way into the
stable release. You could just go back to 2.8.6 until the issue is resolved.

As far as I know, before GIMP 2.8.6, it didn't querying new plugins on every
launch. It only did so when there were new plugins installed. When 2.8.6 came
about, GIMP would query all plugins on every launch. With 2.8.8 it seems to
only do this with user installed plugins. I assume this a bug but

Another good option is a GIMP plugin called BIMP (Batch Image Manipulation
Program). It has a built in watermark feature which should suffice for whatever
you're using it for.

Don't worry about the resolution of the image. Just worry about the dimensions.
Scale it down to whatever you'd like and then scale it back up to the original
dimensions. Like so:
1. An image is 500px x 500px
2. Scale it down to 250px x 250px

Eh, if he's just trying to drop the quality by keeping the same size, it's best
to just scale the image down and back up again with no interpolation. Like you
said, using CSS would look awful cause all browsers will scale the image up
with interpolation unless he wants to use an HTML canvas and

GIMP? Is it even possible or does the current exporting code not support
multi core rendering in any way? If there is no way to do this, are there
plans to make it possible in future version of GIMP?

What version of GIMP are you using? I know from experience that a certain older
version of GIMP did that every time it loaded however it was patched in later
versions. If you have an older version, try the latest (2.8.16) and see if that
fixes it.
