Oddly enough, it works on my office system. It sounds weird reading every
space between words, but it'll read. We're using Outlook 2010.

When it goes into Zombie mode (no window is active), that trick is absolutely
useless, along with just about anything else you care to try. This is the
worst flaw of a really outstanding program, so bad as to be deemed
unacceptable, and needs to be fixed before the end of this product cycle.
Carolyn, try this, if you can get it going at all. Maneuver over to the start
menu, make sure JAWS is highlighted. Then use the kill command (I think it's
the equivalent of Win-JAWS-F4) to really clear it out. Then, go the desktop

May I add, always check the ergonomics. Back in 2008 I bought a Samsung

Hi, I
How about when the error brings everything to a halt, and the highlight moves
slowly and randomly from program to program. You're told no window is active.
If you can get me out of that one quickly and with minimal damage, I'll owe you
big time!

Sounds like a good one for 2013 owners, but I didn't see anything about the
cursor's becoming totally paralyzed during an Internet session, resulting in
either a total reboot or a loss of every single Internet window.

It'll be free from 7 as well, Carolyn. I haven't done an OS upgrade since DOS
7, but this one may tempt me. Only trouble is I could do a DOS update with no
help; I'll bet the farm it won't be that way with Windows 10.

That feature has been a lemon from day 1. I haven't encountered anyone who

I presume you're talking about the latest incarnations from Nuance. The very
simplest way to try them is install from the disk. Just choose the ones you'd

In redesigning 8.1, Microsoft did something for which it hasn't been exactly
famous--it listened to consumers and gave them what they asked for, rather than
what Ms thought they should have. I'm hopeful the same philosophy is being
applied in 10.
