Besides the 28-105 there is also the FA24-90/3.5-4.5 Since I have only the 24-90 I can't compare with the others but general these three lenses (28-70, 28-105 and 24-90) are highly regarded on this list. With the 24-90 you also have a wider lens. I find that I use my Tokina 20-35 a lot less since

You won't go Wrong with either choice, I simply don't think there is a worse lens than the sigma 28-105 F2.8-4 ( I should know I have one ). What I don't get is why people think it's soft at 105mm, it's quite sharp at 105mm, actually it's only sharp at 105mm and no where else.
