First, I didn't know there was such thing as a 4.3 update for the mac os.
Should I change the current 4.2?

Hi,
I've been looking for an AppleShare IP community, list or similar for quite
some time.
This "retro-talk" list is great, is there an "asip-talk" out there somewhere?

Yes, Retrospect is a damn good tool. As Irena said, the tape will be
rewined to check what tape it is. Then Retrospect will forward the tape to
put the new information *after* the old one.
It takes a

We used to had that problem and it turned out that Mac OS was the failing

Is that true and if so, how have you guys solved that problem?

First, I did not manage to print any pages from the VXA PDF manual.
I want to have five tapes named mon - fri and overwriting any information

How often is a file copied incorrect? It would be like copying 5 files over

Maybe a SCSI-2 card wold speed up performance.

OnStream is a spin off from Philips Electronics.
You can find out about their drives and ADR technology from:

OK, so the tapes are called ADR. I downloaded the whitepapers and will take

The reason I ask is that I haven't seen them around in any catalogue
FWIW, a guy a Seagate told me they've found that tapes wear pretty quickly
