You car speakers connect via the black multi plug from existing loom

I found the SBT (in my bedroom) headphone out to be rather poor and

Yes. Get the SBT working at a basic level with a PC based LMS before you
decide how to go forward.
A few points though.
You have a MyBook and are thinking about installing LMS on that. It

Let's try to answer sensibly.
As Mnyb says the Touch is a streaming client device.
It has no direct physical connection to your PC.
It should be connected to your router either wired (preferred) or
wireless.
The Touch has 3 possible modes of operation.
1. Standalone. This is where it connects

They do look interesting. No upnp/DLNA - probably a good thing - but

Someone asked this in 3rd party software recently.
If you have iTunes on a PC then you can use streamwhatyouhear
If you have iTunes on a Mac you can use Nicecast
In both cases it takes the output from your Soundcard and converts it

I think you are missing out then. None of the Android controllers I have
used come anywhere close to iPeng.

Your problem is almost certainly network related.
Please give an example

I concur.
You could try connecting an SSD but the cut down LMS that resides inside
a Touch is a) very cut down and b) very old
You would be better off as Ronnie says getting yourself a Pi3, sticking
piCorePlayer on it and stick the SSD into that. The version of LMS in
pCp is right up to date.
Ripping CDs
Rip using dbPoweramp to FLAC - the main advantage is file size but also
has better tagging ability
Add ReplayGain from the outset - if you don't somewhere along the line
you'll wish you had
Cover Art - don't add to individual tracks unless you want to play in
things other than LMS. In
Done the above?
Now restart your SB Touch, go through networking and point it at the
servers Static Ip address if it doesn't find it automatically.
Got an iPhone - get iPeng to control the whole thing.
Note. The Pi can also be a player. In fact it is by default. Up to you
whether you use it as
There is an ethernet port on that device isn't there?
Have you thought about wiring the SBT to it either directly or via a
small switch?
VB2.4 STORAGE *QNAP TS419P (NFS)
Living Room* - Joggler & SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 -> Celestion F20s
*Office* - Pi3+Sreen -> Sony TAFE320 -> Celestion F10s
I concur that this is nothing to do with the players - it is either
server side or network related.
The most likely culprit is W10 elevated privileges. You must install LMS
as Administrator and then you must set it up to properly run as
administrator on start up (after reboot). The admin user mu
As others have said you are using the wrong Windows version of LMS BUT
there is another issue hidden in your description of the problem.
You say that both your PC and Touch are wireless and you are installing
LMS on the PC with presumably the music files either on your PC or NAS.
Music on PC.
