I've integrated my flavor of Stephane's changes into my code and it's
working great. I can now `echo # bounce-no-mailbox .qmail-username`
and it will be rejected at smtp time.

intuitive to think that --enable-domains-dir overrides
--prefix. but that's fine. it should be noted in ./configure --help.
recompiling and simply leaving out --enable-domains-dir fixed the problem.
