Good morning Karen; You seem to have a very strong aversion towards men. Why is that?. What is it that happened to you to hate them so much?. And don't tell me that this is because you're a lesbian because that would be a rather pathetic excuse. There is a good caring side to you. Like someone who is protective and with heart. Those are amongst the qualities of a Bodhisatva. Developing them in awarenes will make you wiser and stronger. However, Developing the qualities of a boddhisatva is not posible when ve have our hearts are full of discrimination, aversion, hatred...Like a dusty untidy house we need to clean and put order in that house. The house of the mind. It is said that when the mind is free of dust it shines like a mirror all what is real in it. Aversion, hatred, anger, discrimination...all those are causes of so much suffering in us human beings. If we know that already, wouldn't be more clever to work towards the transformation of those negative emotions rather than let them to control our mind, actions and life?. But, thank you anyway for your good intentions and care. So you mean to say there's documented evidence of Zen masters REFUSING to allow blacks and hispanics to sit zazen and they also refuse them entrance to the dokusan rooms to ask questions? --- On Wed, 10/22/08, Mac A. RE: [Zen] Re: Black Zen Masters?
Just for clarification... I did say 'There are no Black zen masters'; but what I didn't say was that there are no White, Latino, Arab, Asia, male/female, left/right-handed, democrat/republican, etc., zen masters. If you believe that there are adepts that could/should be called zen masters, then they would be well beyond such vulgar qualifiers; and if you're focusing on the qualifier you're missing the whole point. Blue, Thank you for posting. Your words reflect clearly the state of your being. You are obviously a serious practitioner. Not all of us here are, that is not a requirement. I agree, I am too-often prone to reply to idiocy, reflecting my own while doing so. But I sometimes just can't help myself, I (probably mistakenly) believe that somewhere in my retort, the offending idiot will see his or her own ignorance. I do think that your post below will work much better though. As much as I like rolling around in the mud, spouting my own stupidity. I do find the substantive postings much more enjoying.
