Cindy, you say you may have some parts? Are they from your '59 Traveler? I'm
looking for 2 of the 110 volt over-the-booth lights, do you have any of
those?

The bolts you described as useless were at one time a critical part of the
construction. If I understand correctly, the floor is bolted to the ends of
the outriggers. Later, the shell is dropped on the floor and the inverted
"u" channel of the monocoque is screwed to the floor. This maintains the
shape and keeps the monocoque from bouncing off the floor. When I replaced
the floor sections in my '69 Safari, I was careful to pinch the floor
between the ends of the outriggers and the inverted "u" of the monocoque. I
also replaced the rust compromised screws. To leave the fasteners out seems
to be inviting a different kind of problem down the road - especially around
the door area! Also, I opted to level the top of the patch with the
existing floor and allowed construction adhesive to bridge the 1/32
difference between the floor and patch thickness. Seemed like a better
solution so the patch would fit tight against the inverted "u".

Must be a hundred ways to skin a critter!

Subject: water heater problem... maybe

We went camping for three nights and used the water heater. The first night
it worked great.

The next day we left for some outings so I turned the water off at the
spigot to be safe. Of course I turned the water heater off first.

When we returned I turned the water on, then lit the water heater. It
started as normal. However, when the burner stopped there was no hot water.
Then the burner would cycle on again, and still no hot water. The burner
kept cycling on and off every ten minutes or so, but no hot water.

So, I turned the thermostat all the way to HOT and let it run. It ran for
about an hour, then we had water that was too hot! So, I backed it back to
WARM and it worked fine from then on. The next night it worked fine.

Any ideas what was happening? Is it headed for failure?

I think it's a Bowen and it is in my '71 Safari.

Hi,
I just listed these two items on ebay... if somebody buys them I'll bring
them to the Mt. Baker rally.
The upholstery is surprisingly, in great shape with covers that are fairly
new. I'm changing the floor plan and can't use these. Same with the shower
walls. They are in excellent condition too.

Has anyone heard of an "El Rey Trailer Company"? It's an aluminum
trailer -- about 16' long, and I can't find any information about it.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks -- Kodabear

sorry, always having problems with inexact terminology. I am very literal
minded - comes from a degree in Linguistics I suppose. What is "cab" ?

I think you are talking about a travel trailer and a TT does not have a cab.
not like a pickup has a cab or a 10 wheeler or 18 wheeler.

are you speaking of the TT body? perhaps its longitudinal frame elements to
which the bumper is normally attached?

thanks, confused...
