[blackbelly] DEC transport trip JAN/FEB/MAR trip planning - market item

2005-12-16 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the DEC transport trip will begin this weekend - I will be going 'no
mail' on most of the groups I belong to so email MUST be sent to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] if you want me to see your message after I return
home - do not expect a reply until I get home and have time to sort out
all the backlog of email that I will have - if you have an urgent need
please go through the Travel group to attempt to reach me on the road -
my sisters will be monitoring the group and can contact me if necessary

JAN/FEB/MAR trip planning will begin as soon as I am home from the DEC
trip - the trip will be coast to coast but I have no idea of the route
or the schedule yet - early reservations means your chance of being
included in the trip are much higher - as always I need pick up
city/state, drop off city/state, and a description of the animals to do
preliminary planning

please go to the web site below to see pictures of my rig - if you see
me on the road please honk and wave!
--
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays!

PLEASE NOTE! - when I am on the road I DO NOT access my home email -
email sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] will NOT be viewed until I return
home - if I do not answer your email within 24 hours assume I am
on the road - in that case contact me through the Travel group below
- the same applies to my telephone voice recorder

[blackbelly] FEB/MAR transport trip - serious planning - market item

2006-01-13 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the final step in my long range plan to upgrade the van/RV to the ideal
tow vehicle was completed this week - there is now a heavy duty rear end
under the van/RV with new gears installed - this is the heaviest duty
rear end that is available from GM for a one ton weight load vehicle -
the change in gear ratios will let me cruise slightly faster while using
less gasoline

the white van now goes under the mechanics knife to repair the damage
due to the close encounter with a deer and to complete the upgrade of
its drive train - it is getting more engine cooling capacity and a
heavier duty transmission - it already had recent installs of a new
engine and rear end - this is my backup tow vehicle - during a trip if I
have problems with the van/RV I can switch tow vehicles and keep right
on with the trip in progress

I am doing all this work to make sure that I eliminate as many potential
problems as possible when I am hauling your animals - I have six years
of small livestock transport experience under my belt now so I am using
my experience to make sure that your animals get delivered as safely and
rapidly as possible - new transport services come and go - very few have
survived the initial trip or two - they all have to go through the
'learning curve' that I have completed - when you make a choice about
transport services please make experience one of the criteria that you
consider!

the FEB/MAR trip is coming together rapidly - the trip will begin about
JAN 30th with a west coast loop - if you connect these points on a map
you will see what my basic route is at this time (this may change before
the trip starts)

TX AR CA WA OR CA MO AR TX

then I will make an east coast loop - the route is basically (at this
time)

TX AL MD OH TX

most likely I will have a second west coast loop possibly following this
route

TX AZ CA OR TX

I will begin locking in segments of the route soon - the first west
coast loop going eastbound from OR to MO is already heavily loaded -
there is still room to have your transport be a defining leg in my route
if you get back to me ASAP

as always I need pick up and drop off city/state and a description of
the animals to answer 'can I/how much' questions

the fire danger here in the lower plains states continues to be a major
concern and there is no rain in the long range forecast! - in an
emergency I can be on the road in a matter of minutes if someone needs
to move their animals quickly - I am based out of Austin TX - call me at
512.259.5098 if you have an emergency need

REMEMBER - TIME IS SHORT TO BECOME PART OF THE FEB/MAR COAST TO COAST
TRANSPORT TRIP!

[blackbelly] YAHOO problems and absolute last call for transport trip

2006-01-26 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

a few hours ago I attempted to send a message to TravelWithRonK - Yahoo
rejected the message saying that I was not a MEMBER of the group even
though it recognized me as being the OWNER of the group!

it took me a while but I finally got the problem resolved for now - but
I still am not receiving email from Yahoo - if you have been attempting
to reach me about being part of the FEB/MAR coast to coast trip and I
have not replied to you then I have not seen the message - please send
all email directly to [EMAIL PROTECTED] so that the message will
bypass Yahoo

I wish Yahoo was brave enough to allow users to talk to a real person
about problems like this but I cannot find any reference to Yahoo have
telephone technical support

the FEB/MAR trip will begin at sunrise Monday JAN 30th - the trip will
be a counterclockwise west coast loop followed by a counterclockwise
east coast loop followed by a clockwise west coast loop - much of the
trip is FULLY LOADED but there might be a chance to get your animals on
board if you contact me immediately

as always I need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a
description of the animals in the first email to be able to answer 'can
I/how much' questions

once I am on the road Monday morning you can only contact me through the
Travel group

my new web site is up - please visit http://TravelWithRonK.com to learn
more about me

thanks!

[blackbelly] FEB/MAR trip complete - planning starts for next trip - market item

2006-03-11 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the FEB/MAR transport trip is complete - 20,000 miles in 5 1/2 weeks - I
avoided most of the storms but I did have to fight 50 mph head winds in
WY! - I was slightly gored by an unhappy dexter cow, I was spit on by
upset llamas, and I was rammed by an angry ram but overall it was a
relatively easy trip - the van/RV and trailer performed their jobs
admirably - all the preventative maintenance expense paid off during
this trip

the next trip will begin planning immediately - it will be an APR/MAY
trip or a MAY/JUN trip depending upon what happens in the next few weeks
- get your reservations in early to have a higher probability of being
on the trip - I need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a
description of the animals in the first email please - please send
responses privately to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to avoid the congestion of
the group

I have no idea of the route of the next trip or the start date - your
responses in the next few weeks will determine that

thanks for another successful trip!
--

PLEASE NOTE! TWO IMPORTANT MESSAGES BELOW!!

- ALL livestock crossing a state line REQUIRES a minimum vet
inspection certificate - it may be as simple as a rabies tag
for dogs or as complex as several blood tests for other species
- I WILL NOT TRANSPORT animals that do not meet the minimum
requirements - go to the IMPORT web site below to find out what
is required for the destination state of your animals - then have
your vet double check with the destination state vet office far
enough in advance to have time to complete blood test requirements

- when I am on the road I DO NOT access my home email -
email sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or @MidAmericaBreedingTech.com
addresses will NOT be viewed until I return home - if I do not
answer your email within 24 hours assume I am on the road

[blackbelly] TravelWithRonK philosophy of transport business - long market item

2006-03-17 Thread Ron Keener
(this was a planned situation that I was prepared for
and expecting!) and have transported hundreds of puppies and baby
critters safely

the second tow vehicle is the white one ton van - it had a new 350 truck
engine installed last year and is getting a new 4L80 transmission right
now - the rear end has been replaced and an airbag system installed -
after the close encounter with a deer last fall it has had a major
rework of the front end giving me more protection from deer collisions
and more cooling capacity for the engine and transmission - my goal is
to have it ready to hook up to the trailer at any time to continue a
trip if the van/RV is incapacitated for some reason

another key element of my tow vehicle plan is to have a highly reliable
and competent mechanic who is willing to go the extra mile to keep me on
the road - Don is that man - he has proven that he is willing to pull
parts off his own personal vehicles to keep me on the road - I know that
when I pull into home during a trip that he will drop all that he is
doing to concentrate on my needs - do you think your mechanic would be
able and willing to tackle the job of a frame fabrication and
replacement? - Don just got a twinkle in his eyes and started planning -
all of you are welcome to look at his work at any time

and the most important aspect of a transport service is animal comfort
and safety - I determined early on that the ideal small livestock
trailer was not available on the open market - as I was wearing out my
first trailer I was mentally planning a 'one of a kind' trailer
specifically tailored to fit my needs - you can see pictures of the
trailer while under construction at http://TravelWithRonK.com - the
totally aluminum double deck trailer has proven itself in 140,000 miles
of travel to be a near ideal solution to the unique needs of
transporting single and small groups of animals comfortably over long
distances - shipping fever problems have been almost totally eliminated
- even the most rambunctious have been transported with no injury to
them or the other animals - small and young animals are transported
safely and securely - I can change the pen configuration within a few
minutes to provide an ideal pen for your animals so that they travel in
comfort at all times - the choice of a bumper pull trailer over a fifth
wheel configuration was deliberate - the bumper pull configuration is
able to get into and out of many barnyards that a longer fifth wheel
would not be able to navigate - long trailers may look nice but they are
not ideal in the real world of small livestock transport

the final aspect of my business philosophy is to operate with honesty
and integrity while providing personal service at a fair price - my fee
plan has been called complex but it lets me offer you the best price I
can while covering my expenses and making a fair profit - I do not
require up front deposits and I trust that you will pay for my service
when I deliver the animals - coming from my background of an Iowa farm
boy I know no other way to do business!

thank you for your time - the late APR/MAY/JUN coast to coast trip is
being planned now - please get with me privately to arrange transport
for your animals

[blackbelly] TRANSPORT to Alaska - anyone interested?

2006-04-02 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

there is a VERY VERY VERY remote possibility of me making a transport
trip to Alaska - if this were to happen I would pick up a partial load
in PA and then head west to I-15 in Montana then head north on the Alcan
highway to Fairbanks

to even remotely make this cost effective I need to have a large load -
who out there would like to see a trip put together?

the person I am talking with in Fairbanks has contacted the Canadian
officials in the past few days - it IS POSSIBLE to transport animals
across Canada as long as they have all the necessary tests and permits
and will not be unloaded ANYWHERE in Canada - the Canadians call this a
'sealed' transport

the distance from the Montana/Canadian border to Fairbanks is about 2000
miles - that means about 3-4 days of straight through driving - I would
have to be self contained on hay and can pick up water along the route
at gas stations - but with my trailer configuration I can carry about 30
animals with the animals having plenty of room

this will NOT be a CHEAP transport - gasoline in Canada makes US gas
prices look like a bargain - there will be LOTS of wear and tear on my
equipment that I must charge for - plus we are looking at about three
intense weeks of my time for me to get from PA to AK to TX

please reply privately to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

if you know a person or group who would be interested in this message
please pass it along - I cannot even consider this trip unless I have a
good sized load

[blackbelly] TRANSPORT - short notice options

2006-09-08 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I spoke earlier about some point to point transports being likely in SEP
- well they are happening and happening FAST!

I need to be in Seattle WA on SEP 18th - that means I am making an empty
trailer trip from TX to WA starting SEP 15th at the latest - I will then
return to TX fully loaded

if you have any animals going along the TX to WA route that can be ready
to travel by the end of next week please get with me ASAP at
512.259.5098

immediately after the TX WA TX trip I will be making a TX NV MO TX trip
- I need to be in reno NV on SEP 28th - that means leaving TX no later
than SEP 25th with an empty trailer

if you have animals going along the TX to NV route that can be ready to
travel by SEP 24th please get with me ASAP at 512.259.5098

after I finish these two trips I need to be starting the OCT/NOV trip
almost immediately so it is going to be a short planning cycle for that
trip - please get info to me ASAP and do not be surprised if I do not
get back to you for several days

the best way to contact me when I am on the road is through the Travel
group

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TravelWithRonK

for planning transports I need

pick up name, address, phones, email, local directions, and a
description of the animals

drop off name, address, phones, email, and local directions

I am turning all of my groups to 'no email' so you MUST reply to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] if I am going to see your message - I will NOT be
monitoring the group mail beginning almost immediately

[blackbelly] TRANSPORT - SEP/OCT/NOV coast to coast trip

2006-09-15 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the SEP/OCT/NOV trip will begin SEP 25th with an empty run from TX to
Reno NV - if you have any animals needing transport anywhere close to
the direct route from Austin TX to Reno NV please contact me ASAP at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

from Reno I will be fully loaded to Springfield MO

from Springfield I will come back to Austin empty - again if you have
animals needing this route get with me ASAP

I will be at Austin for a few days finishing up planning of the OCT/NOV
portion of the trip - I hope to be on the road by OCT 10th at the latest
(hopefully a few days sooner) - the route will be roughly as below (not
a detailed itinerary) - parts of this route are already heavily loaded

TX MI CA WA ND MI TX (northern states/upper west coast loop)
TX MO KY NY MD NJ RI GA TX (east coast clockwise loop)

I have some tentative transport legs that don't fit this route so if you
have a need for a transport outside the above route please get with me -
we may be able to add another loop on to the end of the trip in NOV

I am no email on most of the groups I belong to so I will NOT see your
message if you reply through the group - reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
to get direct access to me - as always I need pick up city/state, drop
off city/state, and a brief description of the animals to answer 'can I'
questions
--

PLEASE NOTE! TWO IMPORTANT MESSAGES BELOW!!

- ALL livestock crossing a state line REQUIRES a minimum vet
inspection certificate - it may be as simple as a certificate
and rabies tag for dogs or as complex as several blood tests
for other species - I WILL NOT TRANSPORT animals that do not
meet the minimum requirements - go to the IMPORT web site
below to find out what is required for the destination state
of your animals - then have your vet double check with the
destination state vet office far enough in advance to have
time to complete blood test requirements

- when I am on the road I DO NOT access my home email -
email sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or @MidAmericaBreedingTech.com
addresses will NOT be viewed until I return home - if I do not
answer your email within 24 hours assume I am on the road
- in that case contact me through the Travel group below
- the same applies to my telephone voice recorder at 512.259.5098

[blackbelly] TRANSPORT - last call for OCT/NOV coast to coast trip

2006-09-22 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I am going to be on the road for a week starting SEP 25th - that means
that the planning for the OCT/NOV trip is going to be squeezed into a
few days in early OCT - I am targeting OCT 8th as the start day of the
trip - if you want to be part of this trip I need info from you
immediately - I will not be replying to email while I am on the week
long trip so expect a delay in my response - I am 'no email' on most of
the groups I belong to so I *WILL NOT* see your message if you reply
through the group - reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to bypass the group

the OCT/NOV route will be as follows - this is NOT a detailed itinerary
- some stops have not been listed

TX LA AR KS IL KY IN MI CA
OR WA OR ND WI MI TX

TX MO KY OH NY MD NJ RI VA NC SC GA TX

I am tentative on a second west coast loop in mid NOV - I need more
riders to make it feasible - I would be able to move animals from the
east coast westbound - if it were to happen it would probably be a
counterclockwise loop - I will make the decision in early OCT so get
your requests to me immediately at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

my next trip will probably be JAN/FEB 2007

[blackbelly] Transport Discount Certificate sale!

2006-11-25 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

are you planning for animal transport needs for 2007?

if so these TravelWithRonK Discount Certificates will save you a minimum
of $50 per transport - during DEC I am selling $100 discount
certificates for $50 each - each certificate is good for use to
transport sheep, goats, LGD dogs, and goat size mini
horse/donkey/cow/cria - one certificate can be used for each transport
leg - the $100 is deducted from my standard transport fee plan pricing

the certificates are valid to the bearer so breeders can give these to
buyers as part of their sales promotion or you can give them to your
friends as Holiday Season gifts

if you purchase 4 certificates ($200 purchase price) I will include a
5th certificate for free - that is $500 worth of shipping for $200!!

as a special incentive every fifth certificate (those including a serial
number ending in 5) will be worth $150 - first come first serve - the 4
certificate special above supersedes this offer (i.e. you cannot get
both discounts)

please contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] to arrange your purchase

my next coast to coast trip will be JAN/FEB - planning will start in DEC

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

[blackbelly] JAN/FEB Transport trip planning begins

2006-12-01 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I am targeting the first Saturday of JAN as the start date of the next
coast to coast transport trip - very early reservations already have me
going coast coast from east to west - if planning for this trip follows
the trend of recent trips I will fill up with large shipments early -
that means if you want to include your animal(s) in the trip you need to
contact me IMMEDIATELY!

as always I need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a
description of the animals in the very first email exchange - even if
you are not definite on your transport needs contact me with your
tentative information - once I fill up with the large loads I have very
little freedom to add small loads that require a 'side trip' route - at
some early point I will 'lock in' a route based upon large load
requirements

contact me directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED] - I may miss your response
if it goes through the group

I am making a major investment in a new 10 speed transmission for the
van/RV tow vehicle - this will be installed during DEC - this
transmission along with the 100 plus gallon fuel capacity that I now
have will mean that I can cruise nearly 1000 miles between fuel stops -
this means your animals will be delivered quicker with less stress!

the Southern Classic fully enclosed trailer has proven over two winters
of use that it is excellent for winter transport - the animals are warm
in the worst of winter weather but still have excellent ventilation -
the comment I hear most often when I open the door of the trailer is 'I
don't smell any ammonia!'

some states are beginning implementation of early stages of NAIS
requirements independently of USDA guidelines - it is IMPERATIVE that
your vet contact the destination state state vet office EARLY so that
your animals will meet ALL requirements - I have been stopped for RANDOM
inspections in three states in the last six months - I simply CANNOT
carry animals that are not 100% legal - go to the IMPORT web site below
for information

[blackbelly] JAN/FEB Transport trip planning continues

2006-12-15 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

planning for the JAN/FEB trip has continued at a rapid pace
- based upon reservations that I already have for large loads the trip
is likely to be a west coast loop starting about JAN 8th followed by an
east coast loop followed by a second west coast loop - somewhere in
there I will be making a TX to upper midwest loop also

if you want to be part of this trip it is imperative that you contact me
immediately! - it is likely that I will run out of trailer room quickly
based upon the reservations I already have

as a reminder my trailer is enclosed for winter travel - the animals
will be warm and comfortable in the worst of weather!

the 4 certificate special above supersedes this offer (i.e. you cannot
get both discounts)

please contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] to arrange your purchase

my next coast to coast trip will be JAN/FEB - planning has started

[blackbelly] plans for March trip - APR/MAY trip

2007-02-23 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

my plans are to make a TX to WA to NY to TX loop in March - I am very
near full for the WA to NY leg but I still have room on the TX to WA and
NY to TX legs - if you have a need to transport in the general TX to WA
route (west-northwest) or the NY to TX route (south-southwest) please
contact me immediately

once I return from the NY stop I will probably be home for a few days
finalizing the APR/MAY segment of the next trip - it is likely that I
will begin that segment with a TX CA TX leg where the CA to TX leg is
heavily loaded - from there I will go on whatever route is dictated by
the loading I have - this is all still tentative based upon early
reservations

since I will be on the road for about 2 weeks in March it is imperative
that planning for the APR/MAY segment get into full gear immediately -
if you have even a tentative need for transport in APR/MAY please get
with me immediately

as always I need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a brief
description of the animals - I am NOT watching the various groups
closely so please reply to me privately at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[blackbelly] last call - MAR/APR transport trip

2007-03-09 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I began test driving the van/RV tow vehicle with its new engine
yesterday - there are some minor problems that will be straightened out
this weekend - next week I am making a 'test' run along a TX AR OK KS TX
route to work out the last bugs before I hit the road for a coast to
coast to coast loop starting MAR 19th

the basic route for this loop is:
(this is NOT a detailed itinerary)

TX CA OR WA ID NE NY NH WI CA TX

following this I will be home in TX for a few days before beginning
another loop along a (basically) TX MI WA CA TX route

following that there is a possibility of an east coast loop - no idea of
a route yet

if you want to be a part of any of these trips please contact me ASAP at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] until TUE. MAR 13th - when I am on the road please
contact me through the Travel group below

as always I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do planning

[blackbelly] JUN/JUL coast to coast transport - market item

2007-05-11 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the MAR/APR/MAY transport trip has been completed - I am preparing the
equipment for the next trip which will be mid JUN/JUL/early AUG - I
already have a number of reservations so I expect space to be limited
during this next trip - one of the transport services has gone out of
business so I expect many of their regular customers to contact me -
that means that I am likely to be near full capacity at all times - last
minute reservations face a strong possibility of my not having room to
add your animals so please contact me as soon as you can if you
contemplate needing transport - [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I highly recommend that you join my TravelWithRonK Yahoo group below -
that is where I post updates in a timely manner - if you want the latest
info on what I am doing then get it from the Travel group!

as always I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do planning

during the last trip I was stopped for a random ag inspection by the
Cokeville WY *CITY POLICE* - the USDA is putting lots of pressure on the
states to fill in the gaps on NAIS so it is IMPERATIVE that all animals
be legal for transport - go to the web site below for info and then have
your vet contact the destination state early so that the animals can be
legal - I WILL NOT transport animals that are not totally legal - I have
been stopped SIX times in the past year for random inspections so this
is not a trivial request!

[blackbelly] mid JUN/JUL TRANSPORT - market item

2007-05-18 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

planning for the mid JUN/JUL transport trip continues rapidly - I have
definite reservations for large loads that are going to take me from
coast to coast - several of my long legs are already at full capacity -
it is likely that I am going to have very limited room for much of this
trip - it is imperative that you contact me immediately if you have even
a tentative need for transport - [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do final planning

one of the transport services specializing in small livestock has closed
its doors - I will attempt to fill the gap by providing an extended
transport (extending into AUG if necessary) but I need to know your need
even if tentative so that I can plan a route to move your animals about
the country as efficiently as possible

gasoline prices continue to go up rapidly so moving your animals
yourself has become a very expensive option when you consider the cost
of gasoline to make a round trip - it is summer time so the airlines
have set strict limits on when and where they can transport animals -
this is the time for you to check into having me transport your animals
- go to the two web sites below to see pictures of my 'designed for a
purpose' rig - then contact me to see what I can do to solve your
transport needs

[blackbelly] mid JUN/JUL TRANSPORT - market item

2007-05-25 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

planning for the mid JUN/JUL transport trip continues rapidly - I have
definite reservations for large loads that are going to take me from
coast to coast - several of my long legs are already at full capacity -
it is likely that I am going to have very limited room for much of this
trip - it is imperative that you contact me immediately if you have even
a tentative need for transport - [EMAIL PROTECTED]

- go to the web site below to see pictures of my 'designed for a
purpose' rig - then contact me to see what I can do to solve your
transport needs

[Blackbelly] TRANSPORT - mid SEP/OCT coast to coast trip

2007-08-16 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I will be hitting the road in a few hours for a TX CA MO TX loop - this
will have me away from my PC (see note 2 below) for about a week

after returning home I will begin preliminary planning for the mid
SEP/OCT transport trip - this trip will start with a west coast loop,
followed by an east coast loop and a second west coast loop - the routes
will be determined by reservations in effect at the start of the trip -
parts of this trip are already at near full capacity so you need to make
reservations soon in order to be part of this trip - the next trips are
likely to be DEC/JAN and MAR/APR

I do not monitor the various groups closely so please reply to me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] or through the TravelWithRonK Yahoo group (see
below to join the group)

[Blackbelly] TRANSPORT - SEP/OCT trip starts in a few days

2007-09-14 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

now is your opportunity to join the TravelWithRonK Yahoo group in order
to watch a trip in progress - I will be doing final planning for a coast

I will be on the road starting with a:

TX to midwest to west coast counterclockwise west coast loop

followed by an east coast clockwise loop

followed by a west coast clockwise loop

by following the daily updates on the Travel group you can see my trip
in real time - you can learn how I manage such long distances with a
constantly changing load of small livestock - by doing web searches
about the towns I pass through you and your kids can have an educational
experience that is unbeatable!

my next trips will probably be DEC/JAN and MAR/APR - after watching one
trip you will understand better the process I go through for planning
and executing a trip

[Blackbelly] TravelWithRonK transport trip now in progress!

2007-10-05 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I am at home resting for a few days after completing 8000 miles in 14
days!

if you want to watch the rest of the SEP/OCT trip as it happens please
join the TravelWithRonK group below - in the next few weeks I will be
making an east coast loop followed by a west coast loop - you can see
how I organize and execute these complex trips so that if you have a
need for transport in the future you will be a step ahead in getting
planning done

I expect to make future trips in DEC/JAN (Christmas gift animals?),
MAR/APR 2008 (winter kids/lambs/puppies?), and JUN/JUL 2008 (spring
kids/lambs/puppies?) - start your pre-birth sales efforts now so that
your animals will be sold by the time they are weaned!

at this time I am the only transport service specializing in small
quantities of small livestock - why trust your sheep and goats to pet
and horse transporters who are trying to fill empty stalls and carriers
when I have a trailer specially designed just for these animals - I have
transported 2000 animals in the past 7 years so experience is not a
question with TravelWithRonK! - ask your friends and Yahoo groups about
my reputation

[Blackbelly] Christmas gift transport planning

2007-11-08 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I am just beginning planning of a mid DEC/JAN transport trip - I am
going to try to cover the entire lower 48 states in a trip covering
roughly DEC 15th to JAN 1st - this will allow me to deliver Christmas
gift animals close to Christmas but you need to make reservations (even
if the purchase is tentative) as soon as possible

gasoline prices are forecast to continue going up so this could be the
lowest priced transports you will see in the future - my fee plan is
based upon weekly gasoline price averages so my fees fluctuate up and
down in relation to the gasoline prices at the time of transport

I need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a brief description
of the animal(s) to give an estimate - please reply to my private email
address - I DO NOT monitor the groups closely

[Blackbelly] Christmas gift transport planning

gas prices went up $.10 per gallon this past week - that makes a 10%
difference in my gas surcharge - for a 1000 mile trip that is only
$20 more for you but it does help me cover the extra cost of gasoline

I need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a brief description
of the animal(s) to give an estimate - please reply to my private email

[Blackbelly] transport trip - route lock in eminent

2007-11-22 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the mid DEC/JAN trip is shaping up to be an unusual trip as far as
planning is concerned - I have several LARGE LOAD LONG DISTANCE early
reservations that are pretty well forcing the general route to be set
much earlier than I normally expect to begin locking in routes

I have a load going to Sweetgrass MT that requires definite planning due
to a Canadian border crossing being involved (yes the border is open on
a limited basis) - I have a large load going from OR to WV and a large
load going from TX to MA - the combination of these pretty well force me
to make a counterclockwise west coast loop first in the trip

the route from TX northeast is pretty much forced to go through TN/KY/WV
to MD and north to MA - once I am in New England the trip route is still
pretty vague but there are several tentative transports that suggest a
return westbound along the far north states to the MI and KS area before
turning south to TX

from TX I have several transports to the west and northwest followed by
large loads going east along the northern routes so a clockwise west
coast loop is suggested

I do not have any indication at this time of a need for a second east
coast loop but that could change

so what this means is that if you are tentative on transports you need
to finalize your purchases quickly so that I have time to include your
transport into my trip before I totally lock in the route and loading -
I will try to include everyone who has a definite need but at some point
I have to lock in routes and limit loading to have room for those people
who have made early reservations

I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do final planning

gasoline prices are hovering in the $3.10 per gallon area right now but
I have heard several forecasters predicting another $.10 per gallon
increase in the next couple weeks and crude hit $99 per barrel on
Tuesday so I tend to agree that gas will continue to rise - my fee plan
is partially based upon the national gasoline average price so my fees
will go up whenever gasoline goes up - the increase is minimal for you
but it does help me cover my increased expenditure on gasoline - last
year I spent $35,000 on gasoline so this is not a trivial matter for me!

please reply to my private email - I do NOT monitor the group closely

[Blackbelly] DEC/JAN trip complete - MAR/APR planning begins

2008-01-25 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the DEC/JAN transport trip was completed Wednesday - 20,000 miles were
covered in 5 1/2 weeks - this was a trip of extremes - I went from TX to
extreme north MT (Sweetgrass) to extreme south AZ (Douglas) to extreme
north ME (Caribou) to extreme south AZ (Douglas again) to Seattle to
Topeka and back home to TX

Murphy was also at an extreme - a freshly rebuilt transmission had a
failure in a $20 part that ended up causing me to loose the transmission
totally - the AAMCO people in Bountiful UT located a replacement
transmission and had it installed in 6 hours after I limped into their
driveway!

for those of you with young children/grand children you can tell them
for sure that you know the three little pigs now live in a wooden barn
near Caribou Maine - I delivered three Guinea house pigs to Maine - they
were the cutest little critters and enjoyed their ride around the west
coast before going northeast to Maine

I will begin preliminary planning of the MAR/APR trip immediately -
please get your reservations to me early to insure that your animals
will be on the itinerary - reply to me at my private email address below
- I do not monitor the group closely so I may miss messages sent through
the group

a quick analysis of 2007 tax records indicates that I am going to have
to raise my prices slightly - I am working on a way to retain the
formula I use but at the same time allow for the increased cost of parts
and labor - more info soon

I hope everyone had happy holidays - Christmas I was in southern
California - New Years eve midnight I was in a rest stop east of Little
Rock

[Blackbelly] MAR/APR transport trip planning continues

2008-02-08 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

reservations for the MAR/APR transport trip are coming in steadily -
this is going to be a multiple coast to coast trip - there are still
many opportunities to get your animals on board most of the legs but
some of them are nearing full capacity already! - so time is short to
get your reservations to me

I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do final planning

for long term planners I am finalizing plans for a TX CA VA TX loop in
late MAY - I am full up CA to VA but I can take loads westbound from TX
and westbound from VA during this loop

[Blackbelly] MAR/APR transport trip planning ends soon!

2008-02-15 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

time is getting short if you want to be part of the MAR/APR coast to
coast transport trip - please get back to me ASAP with the pick up
location, drop off location, and a brief description of the animals if
you have animals needing transport - please reply to my private email
([EMAIL PROTECTED])

the trip is shaping up as follows:

FEB 26th to MAR 2nd - TX OK KY GA TX loop

MAR 6th-10th -
start main trip with an east coast counterclockwise loop
followed by a northwest states loop
followed by a southeast states loop
followed by a west coast counterclockwise loop
followed by a northern states loop
followed by a return to Texas

I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do final planning

planning time is short so I need those transports who are still
tentative to please make a decision soon - I have to make a decision on
routes and itinerary based upon definite reservations - once I start
locking in routes my ability to add last minute reservations becomes
much more difficult or impossible

[Blackbelly] MAR/APR transport final call!

2008-03-03 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the MAR/APR coast to coast transport trip will begin MAR 10th - this is
your last chance to get animals on board before I hit the road - see
message 2 below!

I just returned home after delivering a herd of 50 Kikos from GA to TX -
the TravelWithRonK trailer let me sort the herd into compatible groups
so that they traveled safely in spite of potential 'pecking order'
conflicts - all of the goats and 4 LGDs arrived safely at their new home
in central TX

while I was stopped at the Flying J truck stop in Baytown TX I was
awakened to the labor moans of a boer doeling I was carrying inside the
tow vehicle - this was unplanned but the delivery of twin doelings went
off without a hitch - the first time mother did a fantastic job
deliverying and caring for the twins - this was the 10th and 11th births
while in route for TravelWithRonK! - I am considering a 'midwife'
surcharge for my fee plan! (just kidding)

[Blackbelly] JUN/JUL trip planning starts

2008-04-25 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the MAR/APR trip was completed this past weekend - 20,000 miles plus in
5 weeks - I hit more weather than I have run into in a long time but I
had nothing more than a few hours delay getting through it - I had
another burnt piston in the 454 engine so I am taking a drastic step - I
am purchasing a VERY low mileage used engine (70k miles on a 1995
engine) - this engine will be picked up in a few days, rebuilt, and then
installed in the van/RV - that will let my mechanic totally dismantle
and rebuild the troublesome engine without delaying my trips - in the
future I will be able to have a freshly rebuilt engine ready to be
installed at a moments notice - that means I can pull into Austin on a
Friday and leave Monday with a fresh engine installed! - having a back
up tow vehicle AND a back up engine and transmission for the main
vehicle means I will eliminate another potential delay maker for
transport trips - as far as I know I am the only small livestock
transport service that has gone to this extreme to provide reliable
transport

I am taking reservations now for the JUN/JUL trip - most likely I will
start with a quick run to the west coast to pick up a LARGE load going
CA to VA - from VA I will then follow a route determined by the
reservations in place at that time - even if your needs are tentative
please get with me so I can have an idea of what service I might need to
provide - keep in mind that gasoline prices are going to continue to
rise so transport prices will never be lower than they are now - my fee
plan fluctuates with gas prices but if you crunch the numbers it is easy
to prove to yourself that I can do your transport cheaper than you can
do it yourself without all the hassle and time involved for you to do
it!

I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do final planning

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply through my private
email or through my TravelWithRonK Yahoo group

I will be going on Social Security in July - I expect that this
additional income will allow me to reduce my transport schedule to three
trips per year rather than the current four - four trips per year is
BRUTAL on me and the equipment! - I have been doing this pace for 6 plus
years so I am looking forward to a slowdown but that does mean that my
trips are more likely to be heavily loaded from start to finish - early
reservations will
become even more important on future trips

[Blackbelly] critically endangered Santa Cruz sheep for sale

2008-04-25 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

this is an opportunity for a special person to step forward to help
preserve one of the most endangered breeds of North American livestock -
the Santa Cruz sheep survived on Santa Cruz island off the coast of
California for the past 100 plus years based upon their survival
instincts - these are not your normal docile sheep! - they have survival
instincts that I have only seen in the soay breed of primitive sheep
during my years of transport of the most rare and exotic breeds of
livestock in North America - you can read about them by entering santa
cruz sheep with the quote marks into the Google search field - you can
also read about the SVF foundation at the same time

during my MAR/APR trip I made a stop at SVF in Rhode Island to pick up a
herd of 22 of these sheep - this is roughly 5% of the ENTIRE known
population of 'pure' Santa Cruz sheep! - while I was sitting at the
loading dock waiting to load the buyer in South Dakota canceled the
purchase - I got on the phone and was able to locate a home for half of
the herd within a few minutes so I made the decision to purchase the
entire herd myself rather than leave them stranded in RI - I transported
the 20 ewes and two rams to eastern Iowa where they are now being
boarded on a privately owned zoo - the zoo has purchased 10 ewes and one
ram - the remaining 10 ewes and one ram are looking for a home where
they will be protected from interbreeding with domestic sheep

I am the owner of these sheep at this time - I have $150 each invested
in purchase price and transportation from RI to Iowa - a buyer will pay
me and will help me cover the boarding fees and the transportation from
Iowa to a new home - I will not be looking to make a big profit on these
sheep - I will be in the Iowa area during June so I can transport the
herd then

preference will be given to someone who can buy the entire 11 animals -
worst case I am told that there are a couple Santa Cruz ram lambs
available from another herd - this would allow splitting up the 10 ewes
into three herds (if necessary) - the buyer will have to convince me and
the people at SVF that they intend to breed the Santa Cruz without
mixing them with other breeds of sheep and that they intend to work with
SVF and the Santa Cruz rescue group so that the rare genetics are not
lost!

please cross post this message to any group that you think might have an
interested potential buyer

please reply to me directly at my private email address below

[Blackbelly] JUN/JUL trip planning moving forward

2008-05-01 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I expect to be on the road tomorrow so I am posting a day early for
Friday market

the planning process for the JUN/JUL trip is moving forward rapidly - I
expect to be on the road shortly after Memorial Day and will carry over
into JULY - it looks like I am likely to go coast to coast twice - I
will be in New England at least once - I will be in the upper midwest
possibly twice - of course I am based out of Texas so I will be passing
through here periodically also - parts of the trip are already FULLY
LOADED! - so get your intent to me ASAP even if it is tentative

I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do final planning

for those interested a home for the critically endangered Santa Cruz
sheep has been found in Ohio - the herd of 11 animals will be relocated
during the JUN/JUL trip - the new home is with an experienced rare breed
breeder who has excellent facilities to give these sheep a safe home!

I expect to be enroute to either TN or FL tomorrow to pick a new engine
for the van/RV - we are still working out the details of where I meet
this low mileage engine - it will be rebuilt and installed in the van/RV
immediately so that I have some time to test drive it before starting
the JUN/JUL trip - this will give my mechanic a chance to totally
dismantle and analyze the troublesome engine that has burnt three
pistons since October - then it will be rebuilt and will serve as a
spare for future swap outs - this spare engine along with the spare
transmission will give ready to go spares for emergency situations when
I am having drive line problems - this along with a spare tow vehicle
means that I am making a concerted effort to never have animals stranded
on the road because of equipment problems - this is a VERY expensive
process for me but I feel that your animals deserve the best!

please reply to my private email below - I DO NOT MONITOR THE GROUPS!

[Blackbelly] JUN/JUL trip planning progressing rapidly

2008-05-09 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

planning for the JUN/JUL coast to coast transport trip is progressing
rapidly - I have some commitments to be in certain locations on
particular dates so a rough idea of the route of the trip is forming
earlier than normal - at this time it looks like the route might be the
following:

start from Texas early JUN
go northeast as far as New England
turn west to the WI IA MN area
turn around returning toward the east coast
return to Texas and continue on to California
pick up a large load June 19th and deliver it to VA
from this point the trip route is unknown

parts of this trip are already at maximum trailer capacity so it is
imperative that you let me know your needs immediately even if they are
tentative!

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply to my private email
address below

gasoline prices continue to rise - forecasters are saying $4.00 per
gallon by fall - that means that transport expenses are never going to
be any lower than now - adding genetics to your herd is a one year long
venture before you see results - waiting only stretches out the time
period before your herd benefits from the new genetics

[Blackbelly] JUN/JUL/AUG transport trip - ON THE ROAD!

2008-05-30 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I have decided to split the JUN/JUL trip into two segments which now
makes it a JUN/JUL/AUG trip

starting tonight (Friday night May 30th) I will be making the following
trip:

TX KS TN OH VT CT NY WI IA OH VA NC GA TX CA KY VA KY TX

after returning to Texas about July 1st I will finalize a trip that will
include a (roughly) TX WI WA CA TX route (counterclockwise midwest west
coast loop) - this means that those tentative riders who have contacted
about such a route will have a solution to their transport needs but I
will have time to get more riders so that the trip is financially
feasible - if you want to be part of this loop please contact me with
info (pick up city/state, drop off city/state, description of animals)

the cost of gasoline is having a severe effect upon my ability to
include transport legs that are marginally break even on expenses -
hopefully in the fall when I have a second source of income from Social
Security I will be able to 'bite the bullet' a bit to make sure everyone
gets their animals moved even when I am loosing money on the leg miles

the van/RV tow vehicle is undergoing final preparation for the trip - it
has a fresh rebuild on the engine and major modifications to the intake
and exhaust systems (the engine looked absolutely fantastic inside
except for the piston problem) - I test drove it 100 miles Tuesday with
no problems being evident - we are hoping that all of the things done on
this rebuild will solve the burnt piston problem that has plagued me for
the past eight months - worst case my backup tow vehicle is ready to go
if needed!

when I am on the road I DO NOT access my home email -
email sent to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] address will NOT be
viewed until I return home - if I do not answer your
email within 24 hours assume I am on the road - in that
case contact me through the Yahoo Travel group - the
same applies to my telephone voice recorder at 512.259.5098

[Blackbelly] riders needed - JUL segment of trip

2008-06-13 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I am in the middle of the JUN segment of my JUN/JUL/AUG trip - watch it
happen by joining the TravelWithRonK Yahoo group

I have a tentative counterclockwise west coast loop for JUL - at this
time I do not have enough riders to make it financially feasible - if
you have animals needing to move around the west basically west of the
Mississippi River please contact me ASAP!

I have no plans for another east coast loop in AUG but if you have a
need please contact me

[Blackbelly] JUN segment of trip completed

2008-06-29 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I returned home Saturday morning after completing a 14,000 mile trip
which included the longest transport I have aver done - 2871 highway
miles from Santa Cruz CA to south central VA! - about 30 animals, 6
humans, and three vehicles made the trip caravan style in 5 days and a
few hours - all the animals traveled fine, the five inexperienced long
distance travelers are now experienced, and the process of moving
animals and humans into a new country home has begun - it was a
thrilling experience to see these five people develop a choreographed
procedure for feeding and watering on the road - stops were efficient
and each animal was given the opportunity for one on one 'stress' relief
counseling - the animals arrived stress free but I cannot say the same
for all the humans! - I doubt they will ever undertake this type of
adventure again but if they do I will be honored to travel with them
again!

I am attempting to put together a mid JUL/AUG trip - at this time I hope
to have a west coast loop and possibly even more if the need arises - if
you have animals needing to go anywhere please get with me with pick up
city/state, drop off city/state, and a description of the animals ASAP -
I will see what I can do

the price of gasoline has forced me to take a new approach in scheduling
- in the past I have started trips knowing that I did not have enough
riders to cover my expenses but I expected last minute additions to make
the difference - it now costs me $300+ per DAY just for gasoline so I
cannot start a trip until I have confirmed reservations to at least
cover my out of pocket daily expenses

for those of you thinking that gas prices are going to go down and
transportation will be cheaper in the future FORGET IT! - transportation
is now a major portion of your investment in the next generation of your
herd genetics - buying your breeding stock now means you are planning
for what you are going to have to sell a year from now!

[Blackbelly] late JUL/AUG trip begins tomorrow!

2008-07-18 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

24 hours from now I will be beginning a west coast loop - this will
complete the JUN/JUL/AUG trip - the next scheduled trip will be mid
SEP/OCT - I will be available for short notice point to point trips
during AUG if you have something moving that can cost justify a TX to ??
to ?? to TX round trip

the route for this west coast loop trip is TX to SD to WA to CA to TX -
this is an opportunity for you to watch a relatively short trip in real
time by joining my Yahoo TravelWithRonK group (see below) - if you are
considering transport in the future this will be a good opportunity for
you to learn how I maintain communication while I am on the road

with gas prices so high transportation is the major expense portion of a
new genetics purchase for your herd future - but in spite of the cost
you must invest in the future of your herd - your purchases now will
affect your ability to sell the next generation of babies a year from
now

I am taking reservations now for the SEP/OCT trip - I know for sure that
I am going to be making at least one west coast to east coast trip with
heavy loading already evident - the remainder of the trip will depend
upon your reservations between now and then

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly to my
private email address below - if I do not reply within 24 hours then
assume that I did not see the message - please send a follow-up message
through my TravelWithRonK group - I will monitor that group closely no
matter what my 'on the road' status is

[Blackbelly] quick trip completed - final call SEP/OCT trip

2008-08-22 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I just completed a 5 day 3600 mile trip last night - this trip was to
deliver a large load of Black Welsh sheep to the Canadian border - this
rare breed is quite scarce in Canada so this influx of new genetics is
going to be a welcome addition to the genetic pool throughout the
Canadian provinces - lets all wish the Canadians success in helping to
save this beautiful breed of sheep!

please keep in mind that I have the ability to transport animals from
the Holman-Powell boer production sale both eastbound and westbound -
eastbound animals would be picked up in Eldorado TX AUG 31st - westbound
animals would be picked up SEP 8th

this is your last call to be part of the SEP/OCT coast to coast
transport trip - the trip route has modified slightly since last Friday
- much of this trip is at or near maximum capacity so if you have
animals needing to move along this route please contact me immediately -
the route is pretty well locked in but I do have some flexibility on
certain sections - the route is basically as follows (the dates are
estimates):

AUG 31 - TX NC KY TX
SEP 8th - TX OK ID WA OR NV CO MO KS TX
SEP 25th - TX OR ID CO IA OK TX
OCT 5th - TX MD VT NY KY KS TX

I had mentioned a possible third west coast loop following the above -
at this time there is no indication that this is likely to happen

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[Blackbelly] Fall trip completed - winter trip planning begins

2008-10-25 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

after leaving home on AUG 30th I am home to stay for a few days/weeks -
the trip was almost 25,000 miles and I was on both coasts twice - 200
animals were transported - that puts my total for the last eight years
at over 2500 animals!

the next trip will begin about DEC 8th plus or minus - I will begin
taking preliminary reservations immediately - with gas prices trying
real hard to get below $2 per gallon in parts of the country this may be
your best opportunity to move animals at the most reasonable fee you are
likely to see ever again - remember that my fee plan is tied into the
national gasoline price average so my fees have gone down at the same
rate as the gasoline prices - this is also the Christmas season so if
getting new animals is part of your gift to yourself now is the time to
finalize purchases and arrange transportation

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I need name, address, phones, email, local directions,
and a description of the animals for the pick up
and name, address, phones, email, and local directions for the
drop off to be able to do final planning

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[Blackbelly] GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO DROP! - that means ...

2008-10-31 Thread Ron Keener
that my fees for transport also continue to drop!

hello everyone!

most of you know that I have a formula for calculating transport fees
that is based upon distance, the number of animals, AND the price of
gasoline - as gas prices drop my formula calculates lower and lower fees
- now is the time to transport the new genetics for your herd - gas is
likely to remain low for a while but it will eventually go back up - now
is the time to get the new genetics into your herd so that you are ready
to sell your offspring a year from now - new genetics is the future of
your herd and your ability to be competitive in the livestock breeding
market and the show competitions

I am targeting DEC 8th as a possible start date for the DEC/JAN trip - I
already have transport reservations that are taking me to both coasts -
getting your reservation in to me early means that I am more likely to
be able to include your animals in the trip - even if you are just
tentative on a livestock purchase please contact me early - I do not
require up front deposits so there is no penalty for contacting me with
questions and tentative reservations

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly

[Blackbelly] DEC/JAN coast to coast transport

2008-11-21 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I received my Christmas present to myself this week - I have a brand new
Dell laptop computer complete with Wifi and Delorme street atlas to play
with! - I will be carrying the PC with me during trips so that I can
check and reply to email while on the road - this will take some of my
'rest' time but it will allow easier communication while I am on the
road

the DEC/JAN trip is beginning to fill out with riders - at this time I
have stops in TX AZ CA WA WI MI NY and FL (plus stops in the interior
states) so that pretty well covers the lower 48! - I will start trying
to put together a tentative route/itinerary Thanksgiving week

the national gasoline price average continues to drop - for each 25 cent
drop in gas costs my gas surcharge fee drops by 20% - that is $50 on a
1500 mile transport - the economy may be slowing but this is a good time
to buy and transport the herd genetics that you will need a year from
now - sellers are willing to negotiate - my fees will never be lower! -
do some internet shopping and then contact me for tentative transport
fees - there is no cost or obligation to ask!

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, check, MO, and PayPal

there is no contract other than your word via email

Tina is growing like a weed! - she is so typical Corgi! - highly
intelligent,
independent, strong willed, curious, protective, lovable, pain in the
butt, etc.
etc. and those baby teeth are SO SHARP! (I am her favorite chew toy!)

[Blackbelly] DEC/JAN transport - time is getting short!

2008-11-27 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

now that Thanksgiving is past us time is getting short for you to get
your Christmas animal purchases on board the DEC/JAN coast to coast
transport trip - I have reservations taking me to all corners of the
lower 48 - I am going to have to start making decisions about routes
soon so this may be the last opportunity to get your animals on the
itinerary - even if your need is tentative please get with me ASAP - I
will try to include everyone into the trip but the longer you wait the
harder it is to include last minute additions!

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, check, MO, and PayPal -
gasoline prices continue to drop so my fee formula continues to offer
lower and lower rates - it is now possible to take an animal coast to
coast for the same fee as a 1000 mile transport a few months ago when
gas prices were $4 per gallon

there is no contract other than your word via email

[Blackbelly] IMPORTANT - short notice for transport trip

2008-12-01 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

my apologies for posting a market item on a non-standard day but I have
a situation that has developed within the past 24 hours that may require
me to start the DEC/JAN transport trip in about a week from today in
order to meet time constraints on a large load

indications now are that I will need to make a west coast clockwise loop
starting from TX - the route would be TX AZ CA OR WA ID WI IA MI PA NY
OH WI IL AR KS TX - that does not totally cover all of the commitments I
have made for transport so there most likely would be some transport
after this coast to coast run but I will work that out while on the road
- I will be contacting people who have reservations along this route
privately to confirm that they can obtain vet papers ASAP but feel free
to ring my bell if you are one of these people

if you have any need to move animals along the route above please get
with me ASAP - I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly

[Blackbelly] LAST CALL - COAST TO COAST TRANSPORT

2008-12-04 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I expect to be on the road DEC 13th for the mid DEC/JAN transport trip -
this is your last chance to get animals on board

the route is roughly as follows (connect the points on a map to see the
route):

TX CA WA NY WI TX FL TX

there is a possibility of several 'dedicated' runs after this that may
include 'deadhead' miles where I would have room for quick transports on
one leg - check with me for possibilities if my trip route above does
not fit your needs

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly

[Blackbelly] COAST TO COAST TRANSPORTATION - SALE!!!

2009-01-23 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the DEC/JAN trip was quite expensive for me as far as repair costs - I
am in a cash flow crunch to be able to pay for repairs plus my normal
'living' expenses during FEB/MAR - to generate the needed repair cash I
am resurrecting the 'Travel Discount Coupon' program

starting now and during the month of FEB I will be selling $100 discount
coupons for $50 - you can purchase as many of the coupons as you desire
at $50 each but only one coupon can be used at a time during the
2009/2010 transport trips - there is a workaround for this clause (see
below) - the $50 purchase fee will be going directly to my equipment
repair fund - I can accept Money Orders or PayPal as payment - I cannot
accept personal checks for this promotion - I will mail the
certificate(s) to your snail mail address - you can use them in the
future as needed

the $100 discount comes off of my standard transport fees calculated at
the time of transport - the discount goes to the bearer of the
certificate - this means that if you use the discount as part of the
sales promotion of your animals you can pass a certificate off to each
buyer - if I pick up animals going to multiple locations with one stop
at your location then you can assign a coupon to EACH buyer - this helps
your buyers and helps you sell your animals!

please contact me at rkee...@realtime.net to reserve serialized coupons
and to exchange snail mail addresses

[Blackbelly] MAR/APR transport trip - planning in progress

2009-01-30 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

reservations are beginning to stream in for the MAR/APR coast to coast
transport trip - early reservations indicate that a west coast loop
followed by an east coast loop is likely to occur

remember that your early reservation is likely to be a deciding factor
in determining my basic route pattern - late reservations run the risk
of not being able to be included in my itinerary once a basic route is
established - even if your transport need is tentative it is best to
contact me as soon as possible so that I can reserve a 'route' in my
mind as I start planning

the economy may be tough but that just means that there are many
bargains out there to be able to purchase the bloodlines you have wanted
in your herd - an investment in the future of your herd is a yearlong
activity - breeding stock purchased now will bring results for your
sales catalog a year from now

I will be contacting those people who are on my longterm 'tentative'
list soon - when those breeders confirm their intent I will probably
have a pretty good idea of the general route that the trip will follow -
the longer you wait to contact me after that the more difficult it may
be for me to include your route in my trip itinerary

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at rkee...@realtime.net

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, check, MO, and PayPal

there is no contract other than your word via email

on the repair front the top end of the van/RV tow vehicle engine came
off yesterday - early indications are that a leaking intake manifold
gasket was the cause of the antifreeze loss - I am keeping my fingers
crossed since this is a minor repair problem compared to a cracked head
or block - since Murphy has been so active in my life recently I am
hoping that he has taken a vacation for a while!

the trailer is still sitting in my driveway while I slowly clean out the
bedding left over from the DEC/JAN trip - physical labor is not one of
my strong suits so I am making slow progress - I hope to have the
cleaning finished in a few days so that the trailer can go back in to
the repair shop for a fender replacement and for assessment of the axle
damage

Tina pulled a 'corgi' on me - she normally rides with me when I go into
town - Wednesday I made her stay at home - she had such a pathetic look
on her face when I pulled out of the driveway without her - when I got
home several hours later no Tina - I called and called - no Tina - I
drove around the neighborhood for several hours calling and asking
people for sightings - no Tina - just before sunset I noticed my herd of
whitetail deer coming into the yard for their daily grazing - Tina was
with them! - I guess she decided to become a deer herder! - I know she
was within hearing distance when I was calling so she was 'punishing' me
for not taking her into town

so I thought - WRONG! - Thursday afternoon I am taking a nap - when I go
to sleep Tina was sleeping beside me - about 5 pm the phone rings - the
lady asks are you the owner of the missing Corgi? - I say Tina came home
last night - she says fine but she is here in my yard right now - I go
3/4 mile in the opposite direction that Jeremy went to pick up Tina -
she jumps into the van then immediately jumps out and won't let me catch
her - finally another person catches her - I take her home, she eats,
drinks, and 5 minutes later is gone again! - I call, search, drive
around the neighborhood for an hour - no Tina - shortly after dark she
comes walking into the house as nonchalant as can be!

I LOVE CORGIES! (but they can be frustrating!)

[Blackbelly] last call for transport rapidly approaching

2009-02-27 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I have a load of late pregnancy does going CA to NE - that means I have
to make route decisions in the next few days - I need to be on the road
by mid MAR going westbound from TX to get to CA - from there I expect to
go eastbound to NE WI MI and TN - from there the route is vague - either
going on east or turning back west - it all depends upon tentative
reservations that need to make up their minds ASAP!

Tina is a BRILLIANT shock collar student! - with only a few minutes of

[Blackbelly] last call for MAR/APR transport trip

2009-03-06 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I expect to be on the road MAR 16th for the MAR/APR transport trip -
this is your last chance to get on board this trip - the next trip is
likely to be MAY/JUN/JUL (see comments below)

the route for this trip is:
TX OK NM AZ CA NV UT WY NE IA MN WI IL MI IN KY TN AR TX

any transports I have outside this route are vague and tentative at this
time - there is a possibility of as much as a TX WA FL TX loop - if you
have anything along this tentative route please get with me ASAP!

with the economy turning down so much I may have to change the way I do
trips in the immediate future - trips must pay for themselves - if I do
not have enough riders to cover my basic expenses then I cannot
financially afford to make the trips - future trips may be dependent
upon having enough riders to pay for the trip before I will start the
trip - so instead of four regular trips per year I may have trips only
'upon sufficient demand'

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at rkee...@realtime.net

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, check, MO, and PayPal

Tina is responding well to shock collar training and use - she has
become much more responsive to my voice commands so I am hopeful that
she is becoming an obedient/trainable 'working' dog - I hope to
eventually have her trained as an assistant with working with animals
during trips - she is already useful as a companion to travelers and is
learning to control her excitement when introduced to strange animals -
hopefully in the future I can use her to help unload animals from the
trailer - of course one of her important functions will be to be the
mother of Jeremy/Tina corgi babies! - the first heat cycle should be
soon - I plan to breed her for a small litter for the first time - pups
will be sold first come first serve so get your reservations in now!

[Blackbelly] MAR/APR trip begins Monday MAR 16th

2009-03-13 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I will begin the MAR/APR trip next Monday - this is going to be a short
trip so it is a good time for you to join my Yahoo TravelWithRonK group
to learn about how I handle trip communications without overloading your
mailbox with messages

the route for the trip is:
TX OK NM AZ CA NV UT CO NE IA MN WI IL MI IN KY TN AL MS LA TX

there is a chance that the trip will resume after returning to TX with
as much as a TX WA FL TX loop - it is all dependent upon tentative
transports becoming definite

last week I mentioned that I planned to breed my corgi Tina to Jeremy -
a few hours after posting that message I learned that Jeremy had been
neutered without my permission - but good news a few hours later! - I
will be picking up Jeremy II (full brother to Jeremy I) as I am coming
east through Pueblo CO - Jeremy II is a young pup so Tina will be able
to 'train' him the way she wants (talk about hen pecked!) - that delays
my breeding plans for 6-9 months but it is going to be exciting around
here and on the road with two corgis providing entertainment!

[Blackbelly] MAR/APR trip completed - new trip planning begins

2009-04-03 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the MAR/APR trip was completed in spite of running head on into a late
spring Nebraska blizzard - for the first time ever I failed to deliver
animals to their designated final destination - four rabbits had to be
delivered to northeast CO rather than to the NE panhandle because it was
simply impossible to travel the roads in NE

the trip was the shortest regularly scheduled trip I have ever done -
this is a sign of the economic times - that means that for the
foreseeable future my trips will only begin after I have sufficient
confirmed reservations to cover my basic expenses - trips will be
MAY/JUN/JUL and JUL/AUG/SEP dependent upon loading

the antifreeze internal leak problem I had during the DEC/JAN trip was
not solved by the intake manifold gasket replacement so the van/RV 454
engine is scheduled to be pulled within the next few days - depending
upon the results of the internal investigation I will either repair and
reinstall the current engine or I will install a new engine - either way
there is lots of cost involved

Tina and Jeremy II are rapidly becoming bosom buddies - Tina is getting
over her 'jealousy' attacks - Jeremy is a 'gutsy' little guy who stands
up to Tina even though she is four times his size - they run each other
until both fall over in comatose exhausted sleep - I built a ramp up
onto the bed so that Jeremy can join Tina and Tiger the cat when I am
sleeping - that does not leave much room for me but everybody is happy!

the economy may be slow but there is simply no better time than now to
buy new breeding stock if you can afford it - at a recent boer goat
production sale absolute top quality animals were selling for 1/3 of
what they would have sold for two years ago - new breeding stock is your
investment in the future genetics of your herd! - start negotiating with
the breeders of your choice - you may be surprised at the deals you can
get!

[Blackbelly] spring transport trip planning moving forward

2009-04-10 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

planning for the spring trip is moving forward rapidly - I have
confirmed reservations for animals going eastbound from the west coast
and animals going westbound from the east coast - now I need some 'fill
in' reservations to make a complete coast to coast trip possible - this
trip will not begin until I have enough confirmed reservations to cover
the day to day expenses of a coast to coast trip - even if you are not
sure of a need for transport please contact me with tentative
information/questions ASAP!

it appears that one of the other transport services had to cancel the
trip scheduled for May - if those people who were scheduled on that trip
contact me we will work out a solution to your transport needs including
possibly moving my trip forward in time

the economy may be slow but there is simply no better time than now to
buy new breeding stock if you can afford it - at a recent boer goat
production sale absolute top quality animals were selling for 1/3 of
what they would have sold for two years ago - new breeding stock is your
investment in the future genetics of your herd! - start negotiating with
the breeders of your choice - you may be surprised at the deals you can
get!

Tina and Jeremy are bonding rapidly! - in typical corgi style they are
either going at 100 mph or they are comatose asleep - jealousy battles
are almost a thing of the past - Tina has learned that I will give her
as much attention as I give Jeremy if she just waits - both have
accepted my cat Tiger and all three sleep on the bed with me - Jeremy
has learned how to use the 4 step ramp I built for him on the side of
the bed

I specifically need 'fill ins' going west from TX on the southern route,
going east from TX on the southern route, going west toward OR, going
east toward NY on the northern route, going south from the midwest...

the economy may be slow but there is simply no better time than now to

Corgis are amazing! - I filled the food feeder a bit over full - Jeremy
came up and studied the situation for a bit - THEN he very deliberately
began pushing the food back from the edge of the bowl with his nose
until none of it was 'hanging' on the edge - THEN he ate every single
piece that was on the floor! - he is only 4 months old!

[Blackbelly] LAST CALL! - May coast to coast transport

2009-05-01 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

my May coast to coast to coast transport trip will be starting May 8th -
this is
your last chance to be part of this trip if you contact me ASAP - I
always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a brief
description of the animals in every email please - I do not monitor the
groups closely so please reply directly to my private email address at
rkee...@realtime.net

the basic route is as follows - if you draw connecting lines on a map
you will see where my zig zag route is taking me

TX OR WA WI IN PA NY MI WI VA NC AR TX UT CA AZ TX

Tina is in her first heat - she is being a hormonal pain in the butt
going from being aggressive to wanting to lay in my lap in seconds -
Jeremy has no clue - he goes from playing with Tina to hiding in a small
hole to avoid her attacks - poor little guy!

this trip I will have some Golden Guernsey's on board and I will be
hauling some of my own myotonic bloodlines! - it is always fun to see
multi-generational descendants of my own animals!

[Blackbelly] MAY/JUNE transport trip begins today!

2009-05-08 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the May/June 2009 coast to coast transport trip begins today - you can
watch this trip happen in real time by joining my Yahoo group below -
the basic route is as follows (with lots of zig zags in the actual
route):

TX CA WA NY WI NC CA TX

during this trip I will be transporting a number of Golden Guernsey
goats, a number of four horn sheep, some milk sheep, some descendants of
my own myotonic goat bloodlines, two little pug dogs who are moving to
live with Grandma while Mom goes to live in Australia, and a complete
family pet herd going almost coast to coast

some legs I am at full capacity but there is still room available on a
few legs - I will be on WiFi during the trip so you can contact me to
see if last minute additions are possible - I always need pick up
city/state, drop off city/state, and a brief description of the animals
to answer questions

Tina and Jeremy will be with me - they have survived Tina's first heat -
poor Jeremy had no idea of what was happening but I am sure he is glad
Tina's hormonal swings have stopped! - they will have lots of 'puppy'
and 'bottle baby kids' company this trip so it should be interesting for
them!

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at rkee...@realtime.net or
through my Yahoo TravelWithRonK group - I do not access my
home voice mail system while on the road - messages left there
will not be heard until I get home in June

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, check, MO, and PayPal

there is no contract other than your word via email

wish us luck with the weather and a brand new 454 engine in the van/RV
tow vehicle - and please pray that the gasoline price gods don't
continue to go crazy like they have in the past few days - for some
reason it always happens that gasoline prices spike up just as I am
leaving on a trip! - someone is against me up there!

[Blackbelly] spring trip completed - summer trip planning begins

2009-06-11 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

the MAY/JUN transport trip was completed this week - I was on both
coasts twice during this trip - I delivered 20 Golden Guernsey bottle
babies from WA to IN with no problems - Murphy decided I needed a new
transmission in remote Miles City MT - I had the old transmission
scheduled for a routine rebuild in June (only 70,000 miles since last
rebuild) but Murphy thought otherwise - I sure would like to get rid of
this Murphy!

the summer trip planning is moving forward rapidly - I may be making a
TX to GA/FL short loop trip very soon - anyone with animals needing to
go east or west along the I-10/20 corridors needs to contact me
immediately!

for the later summer trip (JUL/AUG/SEP) I have reservations taking me to
the east coast and New England - I am looking for reservations to make
it a coast to coast trip - I often get questions about transporting
during the hot months - I have had no problems with my aluminum trailer
- three years ago on the day Las Vegas had an official high temp of 128
degrees I was making the Needles to Barstow trip fully loaded on both
decks with sheep and goats during the mid afternoon heat - none of the
animals showed any stress during the trip - the only consolation I made
to the heat was to keep moving at 45 mph and to take a route that put me
on top of a 4000 ft. pass at sunset so I could turn broadside to the
wind and let the animals rest until after the sunset cool down

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,

[Blackbelly] AUG/SEP trip - changes in schedule/itinerary

2009-07-31 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

during the week of AUG 3rd-7th I will be making a quick TX VA TN GA TX
loop to deliver a large load to VA - after returning to TX I will only
have a few days to finalize the rest of the trip that is scheduled to

devote the amount of time to trip planning that I normally do - so if
you want to be part of the trip please get with me ASAP and then do not
be surprised if I do not reply quickly

the main part of the trip is as follows:

Re: [Blackbelly] Working system

2009-08-12 Thread Ron Keener
the basic configuration that I have seen at many locations is a 10-12
foot wide corridor with a series of gates forming small pens so that you
can move and sort - a small pen or two off to the side lets you
segregate temporarily

when I was raising goats I had a corridor between the doe and buck
paddocks - at breeding time I opened the gate on the doe end - any doe
that walked the 150 feet to stand at the buck gate to flag was ready to
breed - I shut the doe gate and then selected the buck I wanted for
breeding - put him in the corridor with the doe - I always knew when a
doe was bred and to who (except in the case of one buck who learned to
breed THROUGH the fence - but he was my prize buck so I was not too
disappointed!)

[Blackbelly] AUG/SEP trip in progress now

2009-08-21 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

my AUG/SEP trip is in progress now - you can watch the real time action
by joining my group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TravelWithRonK -
you can watch my mortal combat with Murphy and his clan - he hit me 4
times in 5 days during the early phase of the trip - yesterday at the
repair shop he hit me twice before I was finally able to leave the shop
at sunset - that is 6 Murphyisms in 8 days! - I have a friend who says
he has a friend who can put out a contract on Murphy - I am considering
it!

my next scheduled trip is OCT/NOV but there is the possibility of a
couple of 'special' trips during SEP that would have space for riders
during the 'deadhead' phase of the trips - these would be short notice
quick response type trips so if you have a need to transport during SEP
and do not want to wait until OCT/NOV please get the basic information
to me ASAP - if the special trips happen I will try to fit in as many of
your loads as is possible based upon the route of the special trip

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,

[Blackbelly] HAPPY HOLIDAY! - and trip report

2009-09-07 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

we are celebrating here in central Texas - after the worst drought in
history I came home from the late summer transport trip to find 4 INCHES
of rain in my rain gauge! - I was not here to know how much of it soaked
in but when you are 18 inches behind normal rainfall two years in a row
anything is welcome!

the August transport trip was completed yesterday morning at about 2 AM
- I covered the country from VA to CA and WA - Murphy drove me crazy
this trip! - he visited me 8 TIMES during the trip with a series of
relatively minor but very irritating incidents - I am getting really
tired of Murphy and his clan - if you know anyone who can put a voodoo
curse on him please pass the word that I am considering everything!

the van/RV tow vehicle goes into the shop this week for its normal round
of repairs and preventative maintenance - the worst repair seems to be a
rear axle bearing needing replacement - the rear axle was actually on my
list of 'hot' repair items - after 570,000 miles I am beginning to get a
good feel for when things need to be inspected/maintained on this
vehicle - with the help of a good mechanic we have developed a detailed
plan for maintenance prior to each trip with many items being replaced
routinely before they fail - it is not cheap but breaking down on the
road is no fun!

my next trip is OCT/NOV - I have just started planning that trip - if
you have a need to transport please get with me ASAP - now is a good
time to buy if you can afford it - really top quality genetics are being
sold at bargain prices due to the recession - an investment in your herd
now will get results a year from now when the economy rebounds and
people suddenly decide they need new animals in their herd

enjoy your holiday and pray for more rain for central Texas!

[Blackbelly] EMERGENCY TRIP - REQUEST FOR DONATIONS!!!!

2009-09-14 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I am leaving today to make an emergency transport from Nashville TN to
Austin TX - this trip is to rescue a young mother and her children from
an abusive family situation - the children have allergies that require
that the herd of milk sheep, milk goats, and egg laying ducks move with
them - the total round trip is close to 2000 miles for me - I am
donating my equipment and time - it would be a wonderful gesture if the
wonderful people of all of the groups I belong to could donate gas money
- I figure that it is going to cost about $600 for my gas for this trip
- gas for the personal family vehicle will cost at least $200 - if 40
people out there could donate $20 each the gas would be almost paid for

please send PayPal donations to my account at rkee...@realtime.net

or send checks to

Ron Keener
4100 Byron Circle
Leander TX 78641

I expect to return to Texas with the animals Friday - I will post
results of the trip as part of my weekly 'Friday Market' message

please crosspost to any groups that you think are appropriate

thank you everyone!

[Blackbelly] SEP OCT NOV transport trips

2009-09-19 Thread Ron Keener
hello everyone!

I just got home a few minutes ago from an emergency TN to TX transport -
a spousal abuse situation required that a young mother with four
children move to TX to be under the protection of relatives - 30 milk
sheep and goats, about 40 egg laying ducks, some guinea fowl, a Pyrenees
dog, and lots of livestock pans/supplies etc. were delivered to their
new home at sunset yesterday - donations from a whole bunch of you paid
for the U-Haul box truck and driver to get a lot of the family
necessities to TX, a U-Haul trailer attached to the family SUV for
critical necessities, gas for both of these plus gas for my tow vehicle
- I donated my equipment and time for the transport - the mother and
kids were delayed in TN by some last minute legal paperwork but
hopefully they are on the road westbound by now

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THE CAUSE AND TO THOSE WHO
GAVE MORAL SUPPORT TO THIS EFFORT! - IT WAS WORTH THE EFFORT!

SEP - there is a possibility that I will need to make an unplanned cross
country trip to move some animals that have time constraints on their
transports - if so the route would be:

Austin TX to SC empty
South Carolina to Sioux Falls, South Dakota
SD to OR empty
OR to CO to Del Rio TX
Del Rio to Austin TX empty

if you have anything that could be moved along that general route on
short notice please get back to me at rkee...@realtime.net ASAP!

OCT/NOV - it appears that the scheduled trip will begin with a clockwise
loop of the west coast starting from TX - then a cross country run from
OR/WA to New England along the northern route followed by a clockwise
loop of the east coast ending in TX - if you have animals needing to
move along that general route including a possible second west coast
loop get back to me at rkee...@realtime.net ASAP!

before I left for the TN trip I had had 11 1/2 inches of rain in 10 days
at my central TX location - I have not checked the gauge since I got
home - so part of the central TX drought zone did get a lot of rain but
it came way to fast - that is good for the very depleted highland lakes
of central TX but not so good for the farmers and ranchers who needed a
soaking rain - hopefully a lot of water made it into the drinking water
aquifers - nearly every well in my neighborhood has been pulled this
summer in order to drop the pumps deeper into the wells - I am running
my well at 480 feet with a timer to restrict pumping - I pump 30 seconds
every 10 minutes to feed 1-2 gallon into my surface tank - before the
rains I could pump my well dry in less than a minute!

OCT/NOV coast to coast transport trip - I am going to try to be on the
road about OCT 19th plus or minus

the route is a complete clockwise loop of the lower 48 states with a
couple zig zags up into the lower midwest - I will be going roughly TX
MO CA WA ME GA AR TX - I am heavily loaded over parts of this loop but
there is room for more animals in all sections if you get back to me
ASAP!

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at rkee...@realtime.net

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, check, MO, and PayPal

there is no contract other than your word via email

update on J... - I spoke to her on the phone WED night - she was in TN
after returning for court proceedings - the court forced her husband to
turn the cell phone back on and to put money in her bank account for
food and medicine for the kids - she has a restraining order and is
filing for divorce - she has a U-Haul trailer and was loading more
personal things to take back to TX with her

here is the summary of your donations - you all generously donated $1905
to her - I gave her $1500 cash when I arrived in TN to pick up the
animals - the remaining $405 went toward my gasoline bill for the trip

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!

[Blackbelly] I am back home and finally back on email !!

2010-01-14 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

the OCT/NOV trip ended up being an OCT/NOV/DEC trip with me finally
getting home JAN 2nd! - the trip just would not die! - but finally all
the animals were delivered and I returned home to no water or email

the water problem was solved just in time for the BIG Texas freeze! - it
is not supposed to get down to near single digit temps in central TX but
it did and there was a MAJOR run on PVC at the local hardware stores - I
lost some PVC and my surface tank jet pump to ice damage - I just got
the new jet pump and PVC repairs operational today so I finally have
water - the running into town every morning to use a grocery store rest
room was getting OLD!

the no email problem turned out to be three problems - two problems were
due to changes at my ISP that were not documented in the web site Help
Desk section - I found this out after buying a new Compaq PC because all
indications were that I had a bad motherboard on my old PC - so now I
have a new PC but am using the old one because that is were all my data
is - the third problem is still ATT's but it is just an irritation so I
can live with it until they 'discover' what the problem is

my plans for the short term future are:

put a new engine and transmission in the van/RV tow vehicle
totally inspect/service EVERY component of the RV and trailer
begin long range planning for a late FEB/MAR trip

for now I am taking inquiries and reservations for the next trip - a
tentative schedule will develop over the next several weeks

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,
and a brief description of the animals in every email please

if there are timing restrictions or complications (export)
please inform me of your needs and schedules

I do not monitor the groups closely so please reply directly
to my private email address at rkee...@realtime.net

payment is due on delivery - I can take cash, check, MO, and PayPal

there is no contract other than your word via email

re: Corgi puppies - Tina and Jeremy did not successfully breed during

[Blackbelly] FEB/MAR/APR trip plans

2010-01-29 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

Mother Nature has stuck her glaring white face into my plans for the
quick TX VA TX trip - the massive snow storm now moving across the lower
midwest follows my intended I-40 route perfectly with snow falls of 6-12
inches expected - therefore I will be delaying the trip for a few days
to let cleanup crews do their work

this means that there is a last minute opportunity to move animals along
the east-west route if needed - you need to contact me ASAP with pick up
city/state, drop off city/state, and a brief description of the animals
- please use my private email address below

the coast to coast trip continues to evolve - if you want to be part of
this MAR/APR trip I need to have information soon - early reservations
are the ones that help me determine a tentative route - this means that
I am more likely to be able to transport your animals - last minute
reservations may not 'fit' the final route and may not be included in
the final trip itinerary

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,

[Blackbelly] MAR/APR trip planning intensifies!

2010-02-19 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

the quick east coast 'snow' trip was completed at 3am this morning - I
made it through all the VA/WV/PA snow to end up getting stuck in north
TX 'sponge' gumbo - a quick push from a farm tractor got me back on
solid ground

the coast to coast trip continues to evolve - if you want to be part of
this MAR/APR trip I need to have information soon - early reservations
are the ones that help me determine a tentative route - this means that
I am more likely to be able to transport your animals - last minute
reservations may not 'fit' the final route and may not be included in
the final trip itinerary - the trip at this early stage is shaping up to
be a TX to midwest to west coast to east coast route but there is still
plenty of time for your needs to influence my route

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state,

[Blackbelly] TravelWithRonK announces 'LIMO' service!!

2010-03-26 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

for ten years now I have been providing 'bus' service for transporting
animals from coast to coast - the routes have been determined by the
reservations I had for each trip - I was able to keep fees low by
setting up routes where all of the riders 'shared' expenses i.e. a bus

I have had recurring requests for special 'dedicated' transports where
special, fragile, and high value animals need to be moved from point to
point in the shortest route and time possible - dedicated transport also
means that your animals can be moved with zero contact with other
animals - beginning in May 2010 I will begin offering dedicated 'limo'
service which will be available between my coast to coast 'bus' trips -
to make this feasible financially I made the commitment today to buy a
new smaller trailer that can be pulled behind either my heavy duty RV
tow vehicle or behind my lighter duty white van tow vehicle

the new trailer is 14x5 feet with two compartments - it has rubber pads
on the flooring - it is fully enclosed and insulated - it has a roof top
AC unit to provide cool transport in the hottest of conditions and the
insulation will provide warmth in cold conditions - I will be adding a
few more fresh air vents so that I have more control over the air flow
when in motion - I will also probably add a small upper deck where I can
put a couple 500 size carriers for small animals

this is a major financial commitment for me at a time when my personal
finances are very tight - but I felt it was time to solve a need and the
right trailer came available at a reasonable price for what I am getting
- this shows that I am committed to staying in the livestock transport
field for a long time to come and to continuing to be your premier small
livestock transport service!

if you have a need for 'limo' transport service please contact me
privately at rkee...@realtime.net or through my Yahoo TravelWithRonK
group - I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and a
description of the animals in each email please

thank you for your patriotism in the past and I hope to be given the
opportunity to prove my dedication to your animals in the future!

[Blackbelly] TravelWithRonK PremierLimo transport

2010-04-30 Thread Ron Keener

hello everyone!

tentative MAY limo trip info below

**Biosecurity concerns
**Valuable animals to move
**Animals needing special handling
**Short timeframe transport needed

TravelWithRonK' s PremierLimo service is your answer!

Using either of my tow vehicles and either my 14x5 trailer
or my 20x6 double deck trailer TravelWithRonK can provide
that specialized transport that you desire for one animal
or a large load - starting from my Texas base I will
go to your pick up site, pick up the animal(s), transport
them in minimal time to your drop off site, and then
return to my base

A comment about PremierLimo fees - when you compare a bus ride fee
to a taxicab fee there is a significant difference - the same
applies to PremierLimo fees - bus service depends upon a large
number of riders contributing a smaller amount each toward the
total cost of transport service - limo service depends upon one
or a very limited number of riders paying the total transport fee
- the same applies to PremierLimo - PremierLimo fees will be
considerably more than bus fees but when your circumstances
warrant the expense then PremierLimo will provide the service

I always need pick up city/state, drop off city/state, and
a brief description of the animals in each email - I do not
monitor the groups closely so please reply to my home
email address rkee...@realtime. net

I have a tentative NC to OR transport - this breeder is willing to share
transport expenses - my route would be TX NC OR TX with zig zags of
hundreds of miles possible - if you have a need to move animals in MAY
along this basic route and are willing to share expenses please contact
me with the basic info
