There was a BLUE-HEADED VIREO with a mixed flock along the Boulder Creek Path
near East Campus, near the score board, at about 4 pm. There were very few
birds along the creek today, but there was one tight flock that included the
Vireo, 1 HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER, 2 WILSON'S
At about 8 am, there were 2 SANDHILL CRANES lounging at the south end of
Baseline Reservoir. No sign of the Caspian Terns from yesterday.

Two singing OVENBIRDS and a singing GRAY FLYCATCHER were the highlights of a
morning hiking around the Shanahan Trail system. Both Ovenbirds are up near
where the North and South Forks of the Shanahan Trail meet the Mesa Trail. The
Gray Flycatcher was found later in the day

I found 3 singing CASSIN'S SPARROWS along the Lefthand Trail yesterday, 6-4-11.
If one starts at the trailhead off Neva Rd, walk south until you get to the
wooden foot bridge a little ways south of the reservoir, near where the houses
end. Listen to the West. Some may remember that
for the last several years.

WHITE-FACED IBIS, 200+ FRANKLIN'S GULLS, 1 BONAPARTE'S
. CR 66 I found 5 SAGE THRASHERS and a
LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE, rounding out the chaparral constituency.

The immature GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW continues on the south side of the North
Teller Lake parking lot. The water level at North Teller is ideal for
shorebirds. There were 3 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 8 KILLDEER along the shore.
Some highlights from Walden and Sawhill ponds include
a good feel for the bill size, but in at least one photo it is
suggestive of White-winged

Pintail x Gadwall, but it's mostly Pintail. The mostly
dark bill and head shape are the only clues that suggest Gadwall to me.
