Make sure you set the menu parameter RADIO to BCD. The Band Change parameter
should work just fine with the Yaesu.

As usual, Iain is correct. The KRC2 normally outputs standard BCD (check the
KRC2 manual for details) for the band that is currently selected. The serial
input selection does read Kenwood/Elecraft serial data, outputting it to the
decoder terminals as well as the BCD terminals. It should work
to the microcontroller.
Floating band inputs (or all 1s) does not cause a band change, so the KPA
simply defers to the RF sense.

different band when the KPA500 is powered up than it was on when the KPA500 was

Check the fuse.
The folks at the factory don't know whether you will use 115V or 230V to power
the amplifier, so the safe thing is to not install a fuse. Look for an envelope

The K3 and P3 work quite well with Rumlog. Connect things normally:
K3 -- P3, P3 — USB Interface, USB Interface — Macintosh.
Then look at how the serial interface is configured for Rumlog. It most likely
needs to be set to 38400bps to properly communicate with the P3/K3.

No. The K3 cannot control the KPA, so this is not feasible. If you

serial communications channel between the remote computer and the KPA.
Note that while the KPA sends the K3 information, the K3 does not talk

The Elecraft KUSB uses the FTDI chip set and works very well with the
Mac using all recent OS versions. It works very well on Lion.

This problem is typically caused by the K3's TX INH input being enabled. Be
sure that the Config:TX INH menu setting is set to OFF.
I emphasize, this is a K3 setting, not KPA500.

Re-download the update file and try again. The failure indicates that the
