Re: [Elecraft] AX1 dipole
For a similar 10M version, look at N1LO's 10M Wire Collinear Super J-Pole which you can find at Nylo's Notepad Antenna Page. I have built and installed several of these vertical antennas over the years, hanging from tall tree limbs and stacked telescopic fiberglass poles. My EZNEC model shows omni gain of 4.34dbi at 9 degrees with top wire end at 52 ft. 73, Henry - K4TMC On Thu, Sep 29, 2022 at 3:31 PM Fred Jensen wrote: > The Franklin is two vertical, co-linear half-waves fed in-phase. Re: [Elecraft] So today i learned about BNC-BP and red/black terminals
Well...this has been an interesting revelation. I just happened to have two of those adapters, one with a female BNC and the other with a male BNC, laying in my collection of adapters. The one with the male BNC had the red screw cap on the side with the tab and that side was electrically the shield portion of the BNC connector. The other adapter had the red cap on the side that was electrically the center conductor of the BNC connector. Although there were no manufacturing markings anywhere on the adapters, physically the molded portions appeared to be identical, indicating that potentially the same manufacturer made both parts. Electrically, the two parts were correct with only the screw cap colors reversed on one. So, maybe the final assembly person was color blind or 50% right was good enough for their quality control department. 73, Henry - K4TMC On Mon, Aug 29, 2022 at 10:56 PM Marshall Harrison wrote: > No, that is not a convention. Re: [Elecraft] K3 Battery Low
Keith, That was the problem. Somehow, I had accidentally bumped the variable voltage control on the power supply down to 10 volts. During the contest, I kept wondering why the dial screen was dimmer and flickered during SSB transmit. I chalked that up to knowing I was using a marginal AC circuit at a portable site. Sadly, I did not resolve this until near the end of contest. 73, Henry - K4TMC On Mon, Mar 28, 2022 at 1:24 PM Keith Trinity WE6R wrote: > Yes, but the "BAT LOW" message has nothing to do with the clock battery. > > BAT LOW means your supply voltage is below the level you have set in > Config Menu "BAT MIN". > > From the manual; > BAT MIN 11.0 Low-battery warning threshold; 11.0 recommended. Re: [Elecraft] “ELECRAFT NVIS field day”
Greg, You might want to consider doing this within the Winter Field Day event. There are 'indoor', 'outdoor' and 'home' categories. The next event is Jan 29-30, 2022. See www.winterfieldday.com for details. I had fun operating the event in Jan 2021 from a portable beach house site using a K3/100. Due to a logging mistake on my part, my score did not get reported. 73, Henry - K4TMC On Fri, Dec 17, 2021 at 9:14 AM Greg Herman wrote: > This is just a suggestion and forgive me if I’m not aware of something that > already exists. [Elecraft] Windcamp X3 Li-ion Battery Box usage?
I keep seeing these on eBay. They look neat with packaging that matches, and attaches to, the KX3. Looks like a good way to have an external battery pack versus keeping batteries inside the KX3. Wonder if anyone has tried one of these? Windcamp says to only use the 18650 batteries with a flat anode. The only ones that seem to meet that specification are the 3400mah NCR18650B variety made for Panasonic. There are other 18650 batteries available with higher capacity (5000+mah), but they have the smaller rounded anode like normal AA batteries. Any thoughts on this? 73, Henry - K4TMC K3+/100, K2/100, KX3 __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com

Don, Thanks for the comments. Good points! Re: [Elecraft] K3 and what's next from Elecraft
Well...how about a transverter microwave board for the KPA500 and a matching-size sealed-RF box that can be used as a heating chamber for those frozen dinner packages...thus saving a trip to the kitchen for a substantial meal. Of course, it could be marketed as a 500 watt DC-to-light dummy load. Re: [Elecraft] For Sale - handled/rackmount brackets/panels for K2
If those are the ones like I have, they were made by David Saylor (WK4DS) of Saylor's Machine Design, Trenton, GA. Not sure if he makes them anymore. I have them for both my K2 and K3. They are made from 1/4 inch thick aluminum and add some additional stiffness and weight to the units. The rack handle feature was also on the end at the rear of the rig. They also provide protection from bumping the knobs and connectors when moving the rigs around on the shack bench or packaging for trips. 73, Henry - K4TMC -Original Message- From: John Evans - N0HJ jaev...@pcisys.net To: Elecraft Elecraft@mailman.qth.net Sent: Sun, Jan 13, 2013 2:14 pm Subject: [Elecraft] For Sale - handled/rackmount brackets/panels for K2 Greetings, A long time ago, someone manufactured and offered a pair of unfinished aluminum side brackets/panels for the K2 for those of us who wanted to replace them with something with handles much like rack mount equipment would have. They are directed towards armchair copy use - I doubt if they would do much to enhance a DXer's or contester's use. I have posted a lot of questions, complaints, and barbs regarding my K3 - which I built in February of this year. However, with the posts and emails I received (that were constructive in nature), I gained enough knowledge about the K3 and its menus, to send me in the right direction to correct what I perceive as K3 deficiencies. Along the way, I have found the Cady Manual to be top notch and totally necessary for understanding the K3. I keep a file of posts made here and on the Yahoo Group that have been informative. I make all my settings the hard way using the K3 menus, as I have experienced failures when making changes via K3 EZ (possibly related to Win7). Hi Guys- Well, I'm in week two of enjoyment with my new KX-1. I did have a few problems in assembling, but that is history. This little rig has a simple receiver which has only half the sensitivity of a usual radio. As well, we are dealing with 3-4 watts TX out max. We have to have an excellent antenna. I've tried the suggested 25 ft. long wire with radials. Ah, it's not good enough. I even got some strange RX-feedback internally at some frequencies using it. I believe the criteria for an excellent antenna will be as follows: 1. Will match up well using the internal tuner on all four bands. 2. Has enough metal in the air to provide adequate microvolts to the RX - to make it function well without being overloaded. 3. Provides some gain - or at least a clean predictable pattern 4. Is light, compact and easy to deploy. My inkling is that a normal Carolina Windom may be the thing. I'll work on developing a micro-QRP version. What doesn't work? Classic G5RV (102 Ft) - will not load on any band with tuner. Offset-Zepp fed with Coax (75'x25') What say guys? Anybody have superb luck with an antenna yet? Fwd: [Elecraft] ATU vs. External Tuner - Please
All of the suggestions so far are good; however, it sure would be great if Elecraft would offer a true remote tuner that can be mounted at the antenna feedpoint. This might even alleviate the need for some of us to consider a KPA800, etc. As an alternate, maybe a kit to make the existing KAT3 remoteable would be good. 73, Henry - K4TMC K3/100 #98 -Original Message- From: Julian, G4ILO [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Sent: Sun, 26 Oct 2008 12:31 pm Subject: Re: [Elecraft] ATU vs. External Tuner Frank MacDonell wrote: I have a k3 with internal antenna tuner connected to a 40 meter dipole in the attic. Will the internal ATU work for me visiting other bands or would I be better off installing a tuner between the rig and the antenna? Is an auto tuner more preferred than automatic? Thanks to all for your time. That depends on what antennas you will be using on other bands and what the SWR will be. Although the KAT3 will match a wider range of loads than the internal ATUs in most non-Elecraft radios, the SWR still exists between the output of the tuner and the antenna, and and can result in considerable signal loss if coaxial cable is used (see http://www.g4ilo.com/antenna.html). I used a KAT2 to tune a non-resonant loop in my attic for several years, but my shack is in the room directly below the attic and the length of the coax was only about 8 feet. If you are a much longer distance from your antenna feed point then you would be better off either using open wire feed and an external balanced tuner, or else using a battery powered remote automatic ATU in the attic at the feed point so you use a coax feeder without undue loss. If you will be trying to use your 40m dipole on other bands then the mismatch will be quite considerable on most of them and you should consider one or other of the options stated above. If on the other hand you add resonant lengths for other bands to the same feed point, creating a fan dipole, then you should be able to get a good match on those bands and you will be able to use the KAT3 without worrying about feeder loss. - Julian, G4ILO. Re: [Elecraft] u want nice audio?
Tongue out of cheek... Having been the owner of several fine Vandersteen (note correct spelling for those doing Google searches) speaker systems, I can recommend Don's suggestion. However, depending on your HF radio, be prepared for some strange sounds. High-end audio equipment will reveal a lot of warts in your source material (this time your rig). And, the better your home audio system (interconnect and speaker cables included), the more warts you wil l hear. You may find that listening to CW and SSB sounds better on those $5.00 speakers. Now, with my tongue in cheek...better yet, take the rig into your home theater room and plug it into the system. Now, if we could only get Elecraft t o add a video output of the Front Panel Display, you could watch everything in high definition splendor! Better yet, how about the whole front panel as a video display - as you adjust controls, they would move on the TV screen, the appropriate LED would light up as you changed functions... Wow! Re: [Elecraft] RE: Dayton 2008 and IC7200
I like those handles on the ends and the built-in front firing speaker. The handles would be a nice option for the k3. And a 4 to 5 inch wide (0.5EC-3) cabinet could hold a nice front firing speaker and a switching power supply. If this could be attached to the K3 side panel and then add some rack-panel handles, you would have a nice 19-inch wide rack panel package. 73, Henry - K4TMC K3/100 #98 ** Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? [Elecraft] K3 Soft Carrying Case
Received my carrying case from Rose Kopp. An excellent product for storing and transporting your K3. Not quite as protective as a hard-sided case like a Pelican, but great for protecting it in the shack when not being used (in my case, between SSB contests) or as carry-on luggage on a flight to a DX-pedition . The quality of construction and materials is excellent. There is an outside pocket that will hold your K3 Operating Manual, and an inside pocket that will hold the new K3 Niffty Quick Reference Guide. Re: [Elecraft] Chasing the numbers
Gary, Based on your scenario, it would take me a few hours operating a contest to make a decision, but I feel confident that I could pick the better receivers out of the group, for my purposes. Now, this may not be the same selection that someone else makes. However, if you have a large enough group of operators and ask them to pick the best 2 or 3 rigs, over a period of time, you should arrive at the best rig. Relative to the specification numbers. They are part of the equation. One of my criteria for a good receiver is its fatigue factor (sorry, there are no none numbers for this parameter, its all subjective). But, the numbers associated with the AGC parameters, the blocking characteristics, the IMD numbe rs, etc., all add up to affect that fatigue factor. Other things that you do not normally see in the published data are the specific characteristics/parameters of the components, processors and circuits that pass the audio portion of the signal. For me, these can have significant impact on my fatigue factor. Someone else has mentioned the TS830. I had one for several years, and did numerous mods, including INRAD filters in both IF's. Until I started using a K 2, it was my standard reference rig. Subsequent rigs (TS850 and FT1000MP, both with INRAD filters) never approached the 830's low fatigue factor. But both of those newer rigs had better numbers. So, what does all of this mean? The low fatigue factor allows your brain to do more of the signal processing. The strange noises that some rigs generate impact your brain's ability to process the audio. As a result, the be tter number rigs have a better chance of having a low fatigue factor, but it is not a guarenteed situation. As they say...YMMV. 73, Henry - K4TMC ** Ideas to please picky eaters. I tried using one of the HPS-1a units back in Nov during the ARRL Phone Sweepstakes. I found that it was not quite adequate for my modified K2/100. Re: [Elecraft] K3 KBPF3 Benefits without SubReceiver?
Kyle, et al, Thanks for the quick responses. OK, it looks like the KBPF3 turns the K3 into a general coverage receiver without having to order the SubReceiver option. That sounds like a reasonable option to have to allow listening to the CB/FRS bands :-) My concern about the mounting location is the affect of the KBPF3 circuit board with similar tuned circuits in such close proximity to the ham band tuned circuits. The affect may be subtle and only detectable in unusually strong signal situations. I just do not want to add something that could slightly reduce the K3's performance in the ham bands. Instead, I can buy a good used separate 0.5 - 30 MHz receiver for SWBC coverage for the same price as the KBPF3. 73, Henry - K4TMC -Original Message- From: Lyle Johnson [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Sent: Sat, 22 Dec 2007 10:17 pm Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3 KBPF3 Benefits without SubReceiver? ... what benefit would it be to get the KBPF3 General Coverage RX Filter Module? ... will this impact the performance while in the ham bands? The KBPF3 is switched into the signal path instead of the ham-band bandpass filters when you tune the K3 outside the ham bands. When you are tuned inside the ham bands, it is bypassed and the standard ham-band filters are used. There is no practical degradation of ham-band performance, and greatly enhanced reception when outside the ham bands. I use mine regularly! Merry Christmas, Lyle kK7P More new features than ever. [Elecraft] K3 Filter Switching Problem?
Warning! K3 filter use item follows. Currently, I only have the standard 2.7 KHz filter in the FL3 slot on the RF board. I chose this location due to potential future additions of the 2.1 and 1.8 KHz filters, in slots FL2 and FL1 respectively. Here is what I observe: With FL3 manually selected via the XFIL button; when I try to rotate the Width control below a value of 2.7 KHz, the rig automatically switches to the FL1 position, which is empty. The receiver goes dead. When I quickly reverse the Width adjustment, FL3 is not switched back. I have to manually select FL3 again with the XFIL button. Once back in FL3, I can adjust the Width control to higher values above 2.7 KHz with no problem and the passband gets wider. Is this normal? I thought the DSP circuit would continue to narrow the passband even though the roofing filter is broader. But, why does it switch to an empty filter slot? Did I do something wrong during the Configuration setup? Is this a firmware issue? I have not downloaded the latest updates yet. If I had narrower filters in the FL1 and FL2 slots, then I would expect the circuit to auto-switch to those as I narrowed the passband via the Width control. And, they should switch back in reverse order as I widen the passband. Right? 73, Henry - K4TMC K3 #98 More new features than ever. Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft K3 Support on the Weekends? - Update
Ron, Thanks for the clarification on the changes. I did find that the changes are less significant than I first thought. So, I am proceeding with Rev B, but am also following the same steps in Rev C. My frustration was centered around the changes relative to the PA Jumper Block. One manual implied that I would not need it since I had the 100 watt amp, while the other clearly stated that I still needed it. Then I became concerned about what other similar changes that may be forthcoming as I proceeded. And, the manual information on the web page would not allow me to track the changes between my manual and the latest manual. Coupled with that was finding the item missing from a board that was supposed to be checked before shipment. The jumper block is the only thing that can be easily removed from the RF board. Thusly, that should be a high priority check before placing them into the bags. As an aside for others, my professional background is quality assurance/quality control, and these types of problems are normal issues that develop in manufacturing new products or in low quantity standard products. This goes along with the already discussed product delays. For those concerned about the dog...she is fine. I found that I did not have to print the whole Rev C manual; therefore, I took her for a walk. The fresh air helped both of us! Also, I did get a response from Elecraft Support on Saturday afternoon, less than 24 hours after my separate note to them. Realizing that it is the weekend and the workload they may be experiencing, I find that satisfactory. I found that I have been spoiled by the quicker responses from Elecraft users and experts like W3FPR, etc. Lisa can expect a phone call from me Monday requesting a PA Jumper Block. Simon, et al, Thanks for the quick responses. I thought that with all of us building these over the weekend, there would be someone answering support questions. But, I know they have been busy, and maybe need some time off to deal with other issues. I do have the KPA3 100 watt amp to install. The assembly manual that came with the kit indicates that it is not necessary if you are going to install the KPA3. However, the picture in the manual does show it already installed from Elecraft. The latest assembly manual, from the web site, indicates that you will still need the PA Jumper Block to do some initial testing before installing the KPA3. So, I am trying to get clarification as to whether I really need it. And, if I do, I need to get someone to ship me one. As an aside, it sure would be nice to know what changed from manual revision to revision. That way I could just update the manual that came with the kit originally. In my full-time job, when a procedure is changed, there is always a sheet describing what paragraphs/sentences/pages were changed. That makes it easy to see where the differences exist. 73, Henry - K4TMC K3#98 -Original Message- From: Simon Brown (HB9DRV) [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sat, 1 Dec 2007 3:22 pm Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft K3 Support on the Weekends? Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft K3 Support on the Weekends?
So... I am wasting my time trying to build my K3 with the Assembly Manual (Rev B-1) that came in the box! I really did not want to throw away the manual that came in the box, but it apparently is of little value now. I am now stopping work and printing a new manual. 73, Henry - K4TMC (while its printing I think I'll go kick the dog) -Original Message- From: Ron D'Eau Claire [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'Elecraft Reflector' elecraft@mailman.qth.net Sent: Sat, 1 Dec 2007 8:03 pm Subject: RE: [Elecraft] Elecraft K3 Support on the Weekends? While most revisions to a new letter involve incorporating the items shown in the errata, there was an additional major change made between Rev B and Rev C of the K3 Kit Assembly Manual. The procedure was reorganized to allow builders with the KPA3 100 watt amplifier module to install the KPA3 shield assembly during the initial build. That avoids removing the bottom covers and KNB3 module and standoff later to install the shield. New steps were added to actually install the shield, a number of existing steps were moved to put them in the most convenient order. Almost every page in the assembly procedure was changed in order to accomplish that. [Elecraft] K3 Serial No. 98 Arrives in NC
While at work (some of us have to work versus wait at the front door with camera) today, a white box similar to other reported white boxes was deposited. I have not opened all of the interior boxes, but inside one of the top flaps was hand written SN 98. So, for now, I assume that Number 98 is accounted for. This order was placed on April 30 via a PayPal payment. The box was shipped on Nov. 16 via UPS Ground. I was somewhat surprised that it took over a week for a coast to coast ground shipment. My experiences with rival FedEx Ground have found quicker and better service and sometimes cheaper cost. 73, Henry - K4TMC K3 #98 Email and AIM finally together. Re: [Elecraft] Egg Crates
If you want something a little sturdier, then consider some refrigerator ice cube trays. Most of the egg cartons I see in the grocery stores these days are made from foam material. These used to be made from a heavier duty cardboard material. Depending on how many parts are in the carton and their weight, you could pick up the tray, have a break, and then have parts spilled everywhere. The ice cube trays I have seen recently are made from plastic. And, they used to make the ice cube trays from aluminum, which were very robust. Check your neighborhood yard/garage sales and the local thrift stores. You might luck up and find an aluminum version. Rather than using the 1 dozen egg crates found at your local supermarket, ask your favorite restaurant for a few of the larger size they use for eggs in bulk. These have 6X5 compartments in a 12X12 format. One should be sufficient for the ~30 different types of hardware in the K3 but the price is right (free) so you might pick up a few more for more complex Elecraft kits. 3 of them nest very compactly in a 12X12X2.5 space when empty. 73, Bill W4ZV ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] OT: 40' mast on Ebay dirt cheap.
Yes, they are dirt cheap for a reason. Note the area around the bottom ends. That area is lighter than the other area of the section. This tells me that they have been used a lot or mishandled. Mishandling of these type masts is the main reason that they are not very good for use at heights over 25 ft. The joint areas are the weak link in these surplus 'fiberglass' masts. Note also that they are not truly all fiberglass, but have loose fiberglass pieces held together with a resin/plastic bonding agent. Under stress, they easily crack at the female end. That is why there is an extra ring around the female end. There are several variations of these available. The ones with the fiberglass ring at the female end are the best, if they have not been mishandled. I would avoid those with plastic rings, since they tend to break much easier. I have seen new ones right out of the storage warehouses with plastic rings falling apart. But, even the fiberglass rings will also crack if mishandled. If left outside for extended periods, the binding agent dissapates due to the Sun's UV. This then leaves little slivers of fiberglass exposed, which can get embedded in your skin if not wearing gloves. Bottomline - paint them if you want them to last outside. Also, to strengthen the joint area, use a stainless steel hose clamp around the ring, or where the ring use to be. As someone else mentioned, they are getting harder to find, but even harder is finding those that are worth using. Now for the disclosure: I use to sell these also, but for the above reasons, no more. I do continue to sell the aluminum versions, which are much stronger, tolerant of mishandling and over-stressing. 73, Henry - K4TMC -Original Message- From: Stephen Przepiora [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Elecraft Reflector Elecraft@mailman.qth.net; QRP-L [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Fri, 12 Oct 2007 2:03 pm Subject: [Elecraft] OT: 40' mast on Ebay dirt cheap. Re: [Elecraft] K3 Shipping Delays
Re the K4. Didn't Wayne or Eric just have a new child? I believe it was named K4 Serial Number 1 :-) I guess I will not be showing a K3 at the Shelby NC Hamfest - my K3 has not arrived yet... 73, Henry - K4TMC -Original Message- From: Brett gazdzinski [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Sent: Mon, 27 Aug 2007 2:48 pm Subject: RE: [Elecraft] K3 Shipping Delays On the other hand, you can keep on improving almost anything indefinitely. I myself figure another month, that way, if it arrives before that I will be real happy. Lots of work for those Elecraft folks, the amplifier, the panadaptor, the remote K3 antenna tuner, the K4, etc I think they been goofing off, sleeping and eating even! Brett N2DTS Much has been posted here about this topic. I've also seen (and heard) considerable correspondence from some top operators who have been testing pre-production K3s under some rather torturous contest and QRN conditions. Although I'm not privy to internal communications at Elecraft, I'd bet that this testing has caused some of the fine points of the design to be tweaked. I'd also bet that like any other manufacturer, Elecraft is experiencing delays on deliveries of critical parts. So, while we're anxious to see the finished product on our operating bench, the second sort of delays are to be expected from any mfr who is reasonably picky about what parts they buy and where they buy them, and the first sort of delays will result in a better radio. So cool your jets, and give Wayne and Eric the breathing space to do their jobs. They have a long history of doing that very well. 73, Jim Brown K9YC ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. Re: [Elecraft] Shelby Hamfest: K3?
Well...I'm not a beta tester, but I'm about 3 hrs away from Shelby. If the crew at Elecraft want to go ahead and ship my K3 early, I'll consider taking it out to Shelby. Hi All, The Shelby Hamfest is coming up in a few weeks. (Shelby, NC Aug 31, Sep 1, and Sep 2) Does anyone know if Elecraft will be there, or else one of the beta testers, to demo the K3? I was looking for a hamfest link on the Elecraft web site, that would give information on hamfests where one could see the various Elecraft products. It may be there, but I couldn't find that type of info. Perhaps that would be a nice edition to the web site once the dust settles from the K3 rollout. See you at Shelby! 73, Richard, AI4SH ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. Fwd: [Elecraft] K3 shipping status update
Great! This will give me more time to get in some summer fishing and vacation. 73, Henry - K4TMC -Original Message- From: Eric Swartz WA6HHQ - Elecraft [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Elecraft List elecraft@mailman.qth.net Sent: Mon, 23 Jul 2007 7:24 pm Subject: [Elecraft] K3 shipping status update Our field testers are a very diligent and experienced bunch. They've been working hard (on your behalf, as well as theirs) to exercise every possible K3 feature and uncover opportunities for refinement. The firmware development team (Wayne, N6KR, and Lyle, KK7P) has been putting in very long hours to keep up, and we've made some minor component changes as well. As a result, important features like FSK mode, text decode/display, flexible VOX control, KRC2 support and many others are being optimized under real-world conditions. We've also verified our performance on multiple K3s both in the lab and on the air. The field testers have really pounded on the user interface, and the tweaking we've done has made the radio both easier to use and more versatile. The same engineers who are doing firmware and hardware development are also heavily involved in completing the user documentation. This is why we haven't been able to release a draft owner's manual or assembly manual. We've got a lot of catching up to do on these tasks, so we're revising our target shipping date for the first K3 production run to start at the end of August. K3 materials purchasing and manufacturing is well underway and our staff has been working hard to make sure all of the key K3 components arrive in Aptos at the right time. This is a tremendous task, as you might imagine, and they have done an excellent job hunting down every problem supplier and component. Our production staff will use the extra time to build inventory and refine our automated K3 testing. This will allow us to minimize any delay to the second and later production runs. Our goal is to ship a stable, and high quality, product starting with the first one out the door. We think you will be pleased with our results. We appreciate your patience as we transition into full K3 production. We'll keep you informed of our progress, and look forward to your feedback on the manuals as they near completion. We've already had many offers to proofread -- thanks! 73, Wayne, N6KR Eric, WA6HHQ _..._ ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
