My new kernel now boots up and talks over the new Enet
driver correctly.

startup script in /usr/local/etc/rc.d to start Sophos sweep.
There are other virus software companies that support *nix, but Sophos
was one that I know has a FreeBSD version.

My diagnosis is this:
* my MTA (exim) is set to reject junk mail.
* freebsd list gets spammed with junk mail reasonably frequently
* my MTA refuses the junk from the list
* FreeBSD mailing system cuts me off because I have rejected the
junk/spam which

You've installed the CVS repository
imapd-ssl.rc to
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/courier-imap-imapd-ssl.sh and make it executable.
Then execute it with the argument "start". That'll get things going for
you. (Do the same for pop3d as well if you want POP3/SSL.)

maintenance related to changes within FreeBSD itself, and not any
updates for 3Ware functionality, e.g no support for firmware 7.5.x on
the 7000 series controllers, and no support for the 8000 series controllers.

DSHD 15-sector: 1.2G (At least I think it was 15-sector...)
Only the last two appear to be supported by FreeBSD 4.7, at least by
default.

I got two very good responces to a question I asked here even though I
didn't really know what I wanted so. I will atempt to be more specific I
am trying to setup bsd on an old machine .aptiva IBM from 1995 32megs of
ram 133 mghtz proccessor 1.5gig maxtor hd.

What ID are you su'ed as, and which directory are you in? (Do they
match?

First guess is that something large was put into /tmp by a root-owned
process. Clean out /tm
it (IIRC it's an option you need to set in rc.conf, but should

As an additional question, you did restart/reload inetd after changing
inetd.conf, right? (killall -HUP inetd)
