I'm trying to figure out how, using cvsup, to pull a specific patch
release. For example, FreeBSD 4.11-RELEASE-p14. I've tried using the date
of a specific patch from /usr/src/UPDATING but that does not work.

I use cvsup to maintain a full local copy of the CVS
repo. I then use plain cvs to check out different branches
of src from it. The problem is while cvsup only takes a
minute each time I run it, cvs takes several times more.
I run cvsup with "-gs" and cvs with "-rR" flags.

with my usual cvsup host (although it was busy enough that I had

I'm trying to modify a machine that I was using to mirror the
FreeBSD cvsup tree qith to do OpenBSD instead. The machine
was originally set up using the cvsup-mirror port.
I've changed /usr/local/etc/cvsup/config.sh to look like this:

I'd like to be able to use my exsitig FreeBSD cvsup mirror, which
I used the cvsup_mirror port to set up, to also mirror the cvsup
tree for OpenBSD.
Any sugestions as to how to do this?
Looks like I need to clone (or modify) /usr/local/etc/cvsup/config.sh.

Hello.
I've used cvsup application under NetBSD-CURRENT to get whole
CVS repositories from NetBSD, FreeBSD and OpenBSD projects.
The client software works with cvsup5.ru.freebsd.org mirror
flawlessly (no errors or somthing strange).
I have issue with OpenBSD server (cvsup.no.openbsd.org)

I just set up a new cvsup server, using the cvsup-mirror port. I can use it
to update everything that I need but the ports collection. It fails like
this:
Parsing supfile "ports-supfile"
Connecting to cvsup.meadwestvaco.com
Connected to cvsup.meadwestvaco.com

CVSUP isn't that difficult IMHO to learn, and is a better, more
efficient way to download the ports Makefiles.
In what way? For typical applications, lower bandwidth usage is
supposedly an advantage

EVERY port is stored in the ports tree. Unless you update
your ports tree, just deinstalling and reinstalling a port
won't make it any newer.
There are a few ways to update your ports tree. Chapter 4
of the handbook describes a few ways. Personally I like

Hello all,
I am wondering how well Portsnap plays with CVSup. As an example,
let's say that I accidentally deleted a Port folder (/usr/ports/print/
hplip as an example), I assume the best way of bringing it back would
be CVSup and not Portsnap. Is this thinking correct? After using
