Hi Thomas,
My problem with the zigzagging ramps would not have been with the math. It
would have been with the sound placement of the barrels rolling down the
zigzagging ramps and trying to depict that some were on higher ramps and some

Hi Thomas,
I tried lowering the pitch of the chainsaw and it was not even perceptible.
That is I believe that lowering the pitch also lowered the volume or at least
it made the sound blend in with the rest of the sounds. However raising the
pitch was very perceptible. So that is what I am g

Hi tom.
I was simply going on the basis that in audio, your obviously not going to
see much of the actual barrel movement, just have to recalculate as your

why worry about the rest when simply a bit of extra sspeed wou

That works. If you want any help with Atari emulation let me know as I

Hi Jim,
Yeah, I figure programming the sloping ramps from Donkey Kong would be
a bit tricky to reproduce. As you recall they move up to the left and
to the right at about a 30 degree angle, and Mario has to run up the
ramps while barrels are constantly rolling down. That requires a bit

Hi Jim,
Just lowering the pitch some as the saw runs down should do it. After
all as the saw runs out of power/fuel it would slow and then stop. That
would serve our purposes quite well I think.

After reading the post from Phil, I will see if perhaps changing the frequency

Hi Thomas,
Thank you very much for saying so.
I never did come up with an idea for making the level zigzag and thus be able
to add and represent the ladders. So I just came up with the swooping birds

Hi Dark,
Its true the original Donkey Kong didn't have many levels, but its
challenge and difficulty made it very replayable. Very few people have
ever beaten the game so I don't think the lack of levels should put
anyone off from buying it. Its a pretty amazing game for 1984
technology.

Jim has done a great job with homer as a remake including difficulty. The
only thing I think he's missing are the ladders, and adding those in another
game, along with sounds for when you were at the edge of a ledge and when
you'd need to turn around and find a ladder might be very possible.

I like to jump the first two barrels and then stop running. Now when I hear
