My Brother MFC 255-CW uses 23 Watts operating - I assume that is when it is scanning - 5 Watts on standby and 3 Watts in "sleep mode" (deep standby). One problem is that Brother tells me to leave the power on all the time, OFF = .7 Watts. It cleans itself out once a day automatically.
