You should set both of them. The only time the amount is optional is
if you really don't have any money available to spend or you primed
your main income bucket by assigning a starting balance transaction to
it if it occurred in the same month as your start date.

Only showing cleared transactions on the reconcile view would defeat
the purpose of finding bank errors.
MoneyWell auto-reconcile in an upcoming release and that may

No, it's because if you get paid every two weeks, you get 26
paychecks. If you get paid twice a month, you get 24 paychecks.
MoneyWell is taking your $1112 x 26 / 24 to give you a half month
amount. Does this make sense?

Hello,
MoneyWell uses your default system currency as the bucket currency.
Just change your System Preferences and that will fix it.
You can have different currencies for each account still by setting
that in the Account Detail.
