In 2010, 23.1.1: "Number of Supplies. Every automatic sprinkler system
shall have at least one automatic water supply"
However, I did not see anything (admittedly quick review) that says that
sprinklers shall be installed on a piping network (thus creating a
"system"). It does say install per
Is there a rational explanation why the sprinkler contractor should bring
in the last piece of underground from 5 ft outside the building?

If you remember, a couple of weeks back I posted a question regarding a
pipe schedule system in a building from 1884. I went up this morning and
mapped out the systems. As best I can figure, the pipe schedule goes
something like this:
3/4" - 1 sprinkler 1" - 3 1-1/4" - 6 1-1/2" - 10 2" - 21
I've had very good luck with HP, but I am not doing anywhere near the
volume. You are working on print shop quantities so that puts it in a
different league.

I am working on a project in a mill that was constructed in 1884. On the
top floor, the branch piping is 3/4 - 1 - 1. Was there an older version of
pipe schedule that allowed smaller pipe or is this just undersized?
Hopefully some of you history buffs (or at least those with a bunch of old
I am working with a facility that makes envelopes and other office paper
products. They have an exhaust duct system which feeds twin collectors
outside.
The collectors have built in sprinklers and 1" outlets to connect to. The
owner
wants to connect to the sprinklers in the collector, but a

dealing with experienced and ethical designers. Otherwise,
IBC 2009 and beyond have incorporated at least some reference standard for
pool
suction safety, if not specific language.

You might have a health code issue with that. How could you prevent someone
from
getting stuck in a suction line? There are strict requirements as far as
pool
recirculating drains and I am not sure you could meet those with a fire

suction line. That could create a huge liability problem. I
I did one of these about 10 years ago a nuke plant. The building was a

protected
the entire building but did not have anything inside the range itself.

Was that the gunpowder attached to the barrel of water?

There was a tire storage fire in CT last year and they used 2 million
gallons of
water. 3 hour duration is more reasonable than 1 hour
