Yet another alternative to creating a http/MP3 stream for Win audio - if your system has a "Stereo Mix" or similar (may need to be enabled from Sound control panel) - then you can use VLC to create a http/MP3 stream from the "Stereo Mix" device.

The behaviour is unpredictable. I can get proper display for ages and then suddenly it flips into wrong display. I think I narrowed it down to a library routine (which should be solid) but I can't get bad behaviour again to confirm. I thought it might be due to a "sleep" period or flipping CDs
