Xavier, you should attempt to install the package from the ports tree.
FreeBSD uses the ports tree much like mandrake uses RPM files. The
difference of course is that RPM files are binary packages while the
ports tree simply provides a makefile which will fetch the source,
configure and

guess it's either a) buy a cardreader, b) get Digikam to work or c) something
else I don't know about yet.

I just upgraded my sources to 5.2.1 using cvsup. This has fetched all
the new files, which I have compiled, and installed successfully. uname

this is a strange situation i thought i'd post and try to get some

the short version is, i do something to get mod_python to crash. i
then try to clean up all the tmp files, look for open files, sysv ipc
stuff, etc. but even after all that i can't get apache to run again

I managed to mess up my MYSQL4.1 on my 5.1 box and I can't seem to get it
straightened out. I think the best way to resolve this would be to do a
fresh install of MYSQL server. I did a pkg_delete of MYSQL-server and

Yeah I ran into that yesterday myself. The mysql_install_db doesnt leave
you with a working mysql database lately. What did to fix it was mysqld
