Does Gimp have any thing like the colour management system that Photoshop
has , which I believe can be used to set the system to a standard setting
to ensure that periferals such as monitors,cameras., printers etc are all
operating on the same colour values.

I found two answers to my watermarking problem --
(a) Gimp-Tools-Text ---which I can use to put a name etc on the picture.

(b) I downloaded the Gimp watermark.scm plugin which also does the job.

Okay, have gimp 2.2.x installed, for MAC OS X 10.3.9
got my epson printer C86 ( CYMK )installed, and my Nikon coolpix camera software
installed too...
Now, my colorsync software preferences profiles are as follows.
RGB Default = Nikon sRGB 4.0.0.3000
CMYK Defalut = Nikon CMYK 4.0.0.3000
Wondering if anyone has compiled this plug-in “refocus” for Mac OS X
as well as unsharp2...

Well, asking the group, what would be the best method
in doing the following:
Have some IR shots, that are good, however, the shutter speed,
was very low like: 1/15 to 1 second, due to the filter on the camera.
did in fact use tri-pod & timmer, however, the trees, still moved, and
so did the grass
Well, loaded gimp 2.26 all is well,
started working with a few images, notice...
that one has a blue dot high in the dark sky.
try de-speckle, tuff to get out.

The autorotation can be done when the images are uploaded from the camera or
when they are viewed. The rotation of the jpegs is done using a lossless

and select a Layer:> New Adjustment Layer ( name it Channel Mixer )?
Then Select that Layer Channel Mixer, and work with it,
to adjust R/G/B and to select monchrome, with output channel Gray?

Just started using Gimp about a week ago,
and I must say, its nice.
Now, have a question:
if I shot in B&W (via digital camera), wouldn't that give me a better image,
to work with in Gimp, instead of converting it to Grey Scale?

Normally I use something like,
lp -s -dZ53a -oraw
as the default print command in gimp.
(my printer is a lexmark Z53 which I have listed 3 times, a, b, c, for 3
different resolutions in cups)
failing that I usually just put kprinter and attempt to use kprinter as
the spooler.
