Some z/FS clusters can grow to be very large. You can allocate them with a
dataclass that allows Extended Addressability and Extent Constraint removal.

DFSMShsm supports VSAM KSDS extended addressability (EA) capability that
uses any of the following for its CDSs: record level sharing (RLS) access mode,
CDSQ serialization, or CDSR serialization.
And you can use Extended Addressability.

Along with EA, you can still split your CDSs and go multi-clustering.
The advantage: Separate clusters reduce backup processing time by
allowing parallel
operations. In addition, if only one cluster is damaged or lost, the
recovery time to forward recover this one cluster would be reduced.
