Been a crappy week so if this got solved sorry for the redundancy if not
Your problem if you didn't have any existing ones is twofold.
First. The LED's don't draw enough currant to ground out the flasher
and make it flash. Your best option is to use one of these;
i have a '95 nighthawk 750 and recently tried to replace my cracked
turn signals with aftermarket LED lights. the rear went fine, the
front are supposed to run and signal so there are two hot leads for
the factory dual filament bulb but so i tried splicing them together
and it worked for the right
It sounds like you're shorting to ground via the splices that you made. I'd
undo that and try to find dual element LED replacement bulbs.
Also, other users have reported having to use different flashers than stock
since the LEDs draw less current than incandescent bulbs.

1. The horns. They go bad after a while. Easy way to test is to remove them

Thats where I was going with that as well- a No-Load flasher unit will
continue to flash no matter what load is on the circuit. If I were you
Graham - I'd swap the flasher unit for a no-load unit and see if that
makes a difference. I think

OK, where
My turn signals on my 85 nighthawk 700sc will not blink or flash. Does
that mean that my wire harness is faulty or does that mean that the
flasher mechanism is not working? If the flasher mechanism is not
working is there a replacement or a solution that anyone knows of or
do i need to replace
Has anyone come up with a way of mounting turn signals on the 700S
without using the rubber stays that go round the fork stem? I have
signals that I could mount to the plastic nose cone by drilling a
hole but I'd like to avoid that if possible,
Graham
I've got a set of working rear turn signals from an 84 650 as well as
one good rubber stay that I'd be willing to sell if someone needs
them.
Also due to a wiring mixup when installing the new turn signals, I
think I fried my relay. Anyone got one
