I've had a Transporter since 2006 and have always used the Coax digital out feeding either my Denon (originally) and now Yamaha receiver. I had a very large DVD-Audio and SACD collection 10+ years ago and was able to rip the audio from them and re-encode as 96k DTS files, converted to FLAC. The only way I can get the DTS bitstream to the Yamaha is via digital out, obviously. I do have have analogue outs of the Transporter feeding the Yamaha, as well, but most of the time just stick with using the Yamaha DAC. It works for me, and I realize most users aren't going to have a 5.1 setup, but I've been in the recording biz since 1971 and have lots of my own 5.1 mixes I've done over the years. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Dac not compatable with SBT?
I've got a Denon receiver that's probably 10-years old. The digital input will take almost ANYTHING I send to it, except for 88.2. IMHO, 88.2 is a stupid SR to use anyway and it's only because of laziness on the original mix engineer thinking conversion from 88.2 to 44.1 is easier. That may have been the case 6-7 years ago, but not anymore. There is no reason higher SR recordings shouldn't standarize at 96k or 192k. This makes them totally compatible with BluRay/DVD players as well. Regardless, if you're trying to play 88.2 files, or they've been purchased that way (I've bought several 88.2k/24bit albums), up-convert them to 96k. I'm on a Mac and have several programs to do that since I'm in the recording/post-production biz, but I also have dBPoweramp when running my Mac on Windows, and it ROCKS!! Other than that, I'm not sure what to tell you. All of my HiRes stuff is played on a Transporter, which could make a difference as well. Good luck with your issue. alicebill, the OP doesn't want to RIP, he wants to BURN DVD-Audio. I have Minnetonka's DiskWelder, as mentioned by DCtoDaylight. It works OK but dosen't give you a lot of authoring options. I would like it to be able to do multiple groups, but you have to pay more than the $99 version to get that. Not necessary for me. I have Dolby and DTS encoding software that's used for TV Post-Production in my studios and, since DTS can encode 96k, will usually do that and create a DTS encoded WAV file. I then FLAC it to shrink it down a bit. My Transported and 5.1 AV system decode it without error. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Higher Sampling Rate for Transporter
In the real world of recording, the difference between 48kHz (44.1) and 96kHz isn't worth the difference in required storage space or DSP requirements. Now, when you start talking about 192kHz (176.4) you're getting closer to the resolution and 'feel' of our old analog gear. However, the amount of storage space is over 7 times what you may have now. Audio on a CD is 10MB/minute. Make it 24-bit and you're up to 15MB/minute. Now bump it up to 192kHz at 24-bit and you're looking at 70MB/minute at a bit rate of 1125 KB/sec. You may find some 'live' recordings at this SR, or some with very small track count, due to the fact that most digital audio workstations don't have enough horsepower to push this kind of data through on lots of tracks. Regardless of what I may use at my own facility (currently using Genelec), when you go to another studio you take 'files' to play what you KNOW, without a doubt, sound like in your room. A great engineer has the ability to 'adjust' his perceived hearing to compensate for what he KNOWS it sounds like at 'home'. It may take some time, but the brain does an amazing job of this. Are you running digital into your receiver with both SB3 and CD player? I've heard stuff like this in the studio where we had wordclock issues between pieces of gear. Since SACD doesn't put out a digital signal (muted, by design) you're forced to listen via analog inputs. If so, I'd look at the digital input of your receiver or try replacing a digi cable to see if it changes. It could be the D/A of your receiver. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Open Question to Audiophiles
What keeps this 'business' alive is the fact that music, and the listening of it, is TOTALLY subjective by the user. We may both have the same musical tastes and the exact CD copy yet hear it differently, even on the same set of speakers/monitors. The same holds true for the recording of music. I've been in the recording industry for 37+ years and have a specific philosophy in the studio when tracking. While a LOT of engineers prefer a certain mic pre-amp because it has a color of its own, I prefer a 'wire-with-gain' type of preamp that adds nothing to the sound. I then select the microphone based on what I want to hear from the source... kind of like a reverse speaker selection. All this to say, your ears and brain will tell you what YOU like, and it will certainly be different than what I will like. Most studios do have multiple sets of monitors in each controlroom, just to hear how the mix will 'sit' on a variety of playback systems. When tracking I want to hear the problem areas, but while mixing I may 'downgrade' to a consumer type as another reference. Even so, if 100% of the buying public liked everything I did all the time, I would've had multiple platinum albums on the wall a long time ago... but that's not the case. Just get what you like and tell everyone else to take a flying leap! ;-) -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49757 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

Why do you think Apple's iTunes store just hit the 5-billion sold mark... most consumers don't care about quality just convenience, and the consumer is, typically, what drives the market. I've been in the recording business for over 37-years and recently have read about many shoot-outs with engineers bickering over the concept of tracking at 96k vs. 48k or 44.1k. 50% of the time, the listening tests proved nothing (I can point you to the white paper if you want to read it). 50% of the time 50% of the listeners could hear a difference... meaning NO ONE could hear a difference. Now the difference between 16-bit and 24-bit is WELL worth it, but 48k to 96k is hard to tell. Now jumping to 192kHz is a different story, but the required storage space compared to 44.1/48k QUADRUPLES and, at this point, the product still has to be SRC'd down for playback on consumer products. And Dolby processing is audible if you pay attention and have good gear. Gothca there, Pat. I had a 2 Studer A800 24-track and consistently measured its response at ±2dB 42Hz-23kHz. It would be about -6dB @ 25kHz. The reason for the weird low-end @ 42Hz was due to the AES curve for 30-inches-per-second tape speed. Vinyl wasn't real keen on a lot of activity below 50Hz, so the AES (Audio Engineering Society) decided to roll it off slowly below that. Most of the time we didn't use Dolby Noise Reduction on the multi-track tape since the console had dynamic automation. This allowed us to turn tracks off, or volume down, when nothing was playing on that track. With some 'smart' mixing, you could all but lose the tape hiss. Also, at 30IPS the octave of the tape hiss 'shifted' upwards in the spectrum as opposed to 15IPS, making it not so obvious to hear. We would use Dolby SR on our 1/2 2-track mixdown masters since you didn't have the option of 'losing the hiss with a fade-out' like you did on the multi-track. 47k is, actually, quite low. 100k is typical, but as long as your SOURCE device has a lower output impedance than your DESTINATION device, all is good. According to my TP spec sheet, it's output is 100-ohms. If you're feeding two devices at 47k each the total impedance will be half, or 23.5k, which is WELL within tolerance. You NEVER want your input impedance to be equal to or lower than the output. There will be a level difference because of the mis-match (simplified definition). The most recent issue of MIX MAGAZINE had an article where they did double-blind listening tests between 24bit/96kHz stereo and 16bit/44.1kHz stereo. The results based on demographic is quite interesting, but it really comes down to the fact that you could guess which one you were listening to by the toss of a coin...no one knew for sure. 50% of the time, listeners were correct but they couldn't tell you why. Anyway, interesting article, yet I'd LOVE to hear a test between 192k and 44.1k!! Of the engineers I've talked to, most say that's where you hear the difference. 96k just isn't enough of a difference to warrant the disk space and bandwidth. What you're seeing on a CD waveform is 'controlled' clipping, where the level is maximized as much as possible yet held at a maximum level of -0.2dBFS. Can I ask a question here... why do you want 176.4kHz playback? You are QUADRUPLING your storage requirements (more than that being 24-bit), not to mention DSP time to handle SRC down to 44.1kHz. Are your speakers capable of 88kHz HF playback to make everything else worth it? Can you hear 44kHz playback from an 88kHz source file? I've been in the recording business for over 36 years and have been through all of the stories with the old 'classic' recording consoles where engineers claimed they could hear the 'air' above 25kHz, and maybe you can... but that's a lot of data pushing through your DSP. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Digital coaxial cable with mic jack
If your digital input is an XLR connector, then it would be AES. Just converting an RCA (S/PDIF) jack to a XLR (AES) isn't the right way to do it, as there is an impedance difference. There are also different flags in the digital stream. A 'typical' mic cable will work for AES short runs, but for anything over 10-meters or so you should use a 110-ohm AES specified cable. The correct way to make yours work would be to obtain a S/PDIF-to-AES transformer. This will convert the impedance from S/PDIF 75-ohms to AES 110-ohms. Double-check the specs of your Meridian. Since AES is VERY RARE in a home setup, I'll bet there's a switch to go from AES to S/PDIF. In that case, your RCA-to-XLR adapter would be OK. -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41329 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

Taking the card out and putting friction tape across the entire bottom of the card, as well as trimming back the leads, solved the HUM problem. HOW I was still getting 5VDC out of it I'll never know!! Also, looking back at what happened when my Black SB3 blew, I think the case of the PS was touching metal of the rack the SB3 was sitting in. The SB3's metal legs were also touching, so KA-POW!! (especially with the above mentioned contact from the transformer and regulator) Anyway, the finished PS is great, clean and working. If it doesn't, you have a fault in the PSU that's causing the output to not be stable. Yeah I thought of that. I'll attempt it later this week since I'm in the middle of dealing with SD fire issues. If that's OK then you may have a faulty ground in your system - my guess is between the SB3 and the speakers. Try changing the cable between them and see if that helps. The output jitter was considerably LESS when run internal. I don't have all of the info here in front of me, but I did verify this theory at a digital maintenance session sponsored by Sencore, the manufacturer of the test gear. We only run our studios using a house wordclock source when we need to do realtime digital transfers between studios. Otherwise, they all run on their own internal clock. Of course all of the digital gear in that room is locked to the ProTools master clock. -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39770 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

We do have house sync (video black) as well as house wordclock... two different things and used for two different purposes. Our rooms were designed by some of the folks that worked at Lucas' Skywalker Ranch as well as myself. We've been doing this a long time. ;-) We have 6 Benchmark DAC1s in our facility and they don't have a WC out... that's why I asked. I hadn't seen a DAC like that. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] SB3 Power Supply
I bought two of these for my SB3s. Neither one came with the printed circuit boards, so they had to ship those. I put the first one together last night and discovered the power cord is too big to fit through the supplied strain relief, so I went to my neighborhood hardware store and bought two that would fit. I just got the first one together, verified it was supplying 5.13V and plugged it into my SB3 in the master bedroom. This player feeds Genelec powered monitors (model 8020). As soon as I plugged in the supply the Genelecs started 'humming', most likely due to the fact that they are grounded and the Welborne supply isn't. It's odd that Welborne supplied a grounded AC cord but doesn't connect the chassis ground to anything. Is there any way to fix this? Has anyone else had a problem with these supplies?! Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] XLR to RCA cable/connector
Something else the JUMPERS may be doing is changing the level. There is nothing wrong with an unbalanced signal! Chances are the output impedance of the Lavry is 100-ohms, so distance isn't a problem either. Unbalanced usually is very bad coming out of most consumer products at a much higher impedance and running longer lengths. The fact that it's UNBALANCED isn't as much a problem as the high-frequency loss over distance. Again, since the Lavry is probably low impedance output, this doesn't come into play. The level difference the jumpers may handle could be substantial to your amplifier... possibly a difference of 14dB if they're switching from +4dBu to -10dBu in level! I'd sure ask their support people prior to shoving that kind of signal into your amp. -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39209 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] AES/EBU - RCA digital cable for Transporter.
The issue is that AES is a 110-ohm line and S/PDIF is 75-ohm, which you've already alluded to. You can't just change connectors and cabling and think it will work, as an IMPEDANCE change is what's necessary and it's usually done with a 1:1 transformer. There isn't any advantage using AES over S/PDIF as the main difference is flags in the bit-stream which are set for certain 'professional' functions. The audio-stream itself is identical. If you want to run AES due to cable length restrictions of S/PDIF then you'd want to use a transformer for proper impedance conversion at the end of the run. AES is capable of runs up to 100-meters, where S/PDIF is usually limited to 10-meters. Hope this helps. -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37791 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

Obviuosly the mated component needs to have the Word Clock feature. The WORD CLOCK connection is for synchronizing the clock rate of the Transporter with a master clock. This would allow you to take the DIGITAL out and keep it in sync with the other digital devices in your room. This would, most likely, be used in a Pro environment. The recording facilities I manage and operate has a master house clock generator that keeps all ProTools rooms running at EXACTLY the same clock rate. Any digital piece of gear can digitially feed another and remain sample-locked. I could install a Transporter in our facility, lock it to house clock, and make its AES output available to all controlrooms. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Why do VU meters exceed 0dB? Programming error?
I was going to respond, but cliveb nailed it... the VU meter relates to output voltage of the attached machine where 0VU = +4dBm @ 600-ohms (.775 volts). Most PRO analog gear was capable of producing an output of +24dBm before clipping, giving you 20dB of theoretical headroom. This is, pretty much, why the broadcast industry settled on -20dBFS as their standard for digital audio (see below). As far as DIGITAL metering, there are several standards as to what the RMS should be in reference to dBFS (full scale). The standard for television/dolby digital is -20dBFS where the majority of recording studios (ProTools, etc) run at -18dBFS. The difference in 'time' is what gives us STEREO PERCEPTION. Look at the space between your two ears, and I'm NOT saying the empty space ;-). It's the phase relationship between the left and right ear and the timing/phase difference that allows you to 'place' a sound you hear with your eyes closed. The same holds true in multi-microphone recording techniques. Your example of a 20Hz wavelength being recorded to two mics 30-feet apart is not really valid, unless you're recording Bach's Concerto for Solo 20Hz Oscillator music is multi-frequency with varied frequencies/wavelengths happening all the time. IMHO, there is no possible way to have absolute phase coherency at all frequencies at all times in an acoustic recording environment. Actually, if you could, it would probably sound lifeless and sterile because our ears and brain don't work that way. Many studio reference monitor manufacturers have incorporated phase coherency into their monitors, but it's usually done by placing the voice-coil of each individual driver in the same physical plane, allowing the combined sound to leave the 'box' as a phase aligned source. What happens in the room before it hits your ears is part of the ear/brain/ experience that can't be compensated for UNLESS the music was recorded, mixed and listened to in an anechoic chamber. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] on recording and the audibility of polarity reversal
I've been in the recording business for 36 years and have worked in some of the most prestigious facilities in the World... what you're talking about isn't really 'phase' as much as it is 'time-alignment'. The 'headphone' out-of-phase issue above really has to do with the difference between hearing yourself with your inner ear (as you talk) and the sound from the headphones to your eardrum. The difference is VERY obvious when the phones are incorrect! The 'phase' of a microphone is very much like the phasing of a speaker, where a POSITIVE pressure wave front causes a positive voltage on its output (relative to the 'zero-crossing' in a sine wave). Having two mics close together on the same source and summing to mono, keeping them in phase is absolutely necessary. There are phase-reverse switches on consoles ONLY to be used if an improperly wired cable creeps into the session, or for an obvious effect. Remember that sound travels typically at 1100 feet/second, and the amount of phase shift from two summed mics being 30+ feet apart on the same instrument will NEVER approach a complete 180-degree phase shift. Many 'newer-technology' engineers rarely listen to mic placement, especially in a MONO mix where placement errors/problems will be most apparent. Remember, too, that the shorter wavelengths will degrade sooner than longer ones (higher vs. lower frequencies). Considering most instruments don't have a fundamental frequency above 5kHz, your concern is really minor. Having a mic out-of-phase with the rest of the mics in the room will cause MUCH greater disasters!! -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35708 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Re: field recorder recommendations?
EVERYTHING we do in our post-production facility is at 24-bit, even if the final product is 16-bit or less!! The reason is that EVERY TIME you do ANYTHING to that file, i.e. change the volume or do a fade-in/out or make a simple edit or whatever, you're changing the 'number'. Everytime the file is edited (changed) it is divided (mathematics wise) and comes back as a new 'number'. With 24-bits of data to work with, your changes are MUCH GREATER of coming back closer to the original number as opposed to 16-bit (less digits to work with means more 'rounding' off). I know this is a simplistic way of looking at this, but it's the truth. That being said, your ORIGINAL file should be at the HIGHEST BITRATE POSSIBLE, especially if it's going through multiple generation copies/edits, etc. HIGHER BITRATES at the beginning, mean LESS ROUNDING at the final product. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Re: Wired or not? (Newbie)
I have to throw in an answer here since I just went through a whole lot of grief trying to get my SB to quit dropping! I have a Transporter in the livingroom, no more than 3 feet away from my wireless AP, and it's rock solid. The SB upstairs in the master bedroom is another story, and even though I've got an average 70% signal to it, it can NOT handle uncompressed files. Especially when synchronized, I have to LIMIT the SB to 320k. If I set it to NO LIMIT, it'll spit and sputter all night. Now, my wireless network is running 811b compatible since I've got several 'older' Mac powerbooks. I've considered running wire to the SB just to help it, but I'm going to try an OMNI external antenna first to see if that fills in the gaps between upstairs and downstairs. -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30342 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Re: Pre-pro, Intel Mac mini and external DAC help
We've got Benchmark's all over our studios, so I'm very familiar with it. The Transporter is an incredible D/A on its own, but then you get a PLAYBACK DEVICE, too!! I, also, am using a Mac MINI as my music server (w/ addition 500GB drive) but it's running SlimServer and streaming to the Transporter in the livingroom and SB3 in the master bedroom. The MINI is tucked away in the closet of the guest bedroom with power and an ethernet cable going to it. I access it remotely using Timbuktu for general updates and maintenance, and mount the 500GB drive to my G5 via the network to add tunes to the library. I NEVER HAVE TO SEE IT, and it WORKS!! -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30345 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Re: Personal Introductions: Please Make This a Sticky!
My turn... my name is above. I've been in the recording business for 35+ years spending a lot of time in the late 70s/early 80s cutting master lacquers (LPs) in Hollywood and Burbank. I also spent thousands of hours behind recording consoles recording every possible type of music recordable. I've worked on all types of classic analog gear in my career and navigated to mostly digital in the late 80s. I quit doing music sessions in the late 80s and began focusing on post-production for Radio/TV Film. The clients were much nicer and the hours were a lot easier on the marriage. I'm also a musician/composer/arranger where I used to score music for Radio/TV Film projects that would come into our facility... mostly using MIDI, but with GREAT sounding samples. So, my listening environment at home is a little different than what we have at our current studios, but I do have Tannoy controlroom monitors in a 5.1 config. I've had a Transporter for a little over a month in the livingroom, and an SB3 (a bit longer than the TP) in the master bedroom feeding a pair of Genelec 2029b powered monitors via SPDIF. I've got a good selection of DVD-Audio and SACD discs and have digital and surround inputs available on my system to 'verify' surround mixes I'm currently working on. My current Slim server is a refurbished Mac MINI 1.83GHz Core Duo (Intel) with 2GB RAM and an external 500GB FW drive. It sits on a shelf in the guest bedroom with nothing but power and an ethernet cable going into it. I access it remotely using TimbuktuPro and rip files to it by mounting the 500GB drive via the network on my G5. Once the tunes are ripped (I use Apple's AAC @ 256kbps VBR), Slim rescans the iTunes library files and I'm ready to stream. I initially had big issues with syncing and hiccups between the TP and SB3, but did some network testing and discovered the SB3 was much happier by limiting its bandwidth to 320k, mainly due to the wireless signal strength upstairs. Because of my profession, I'd rather not comment on the effects of BLIND TESTING. Music is such a personal, subjective thing. No one else can tell you what's good or what's bad because you have the option of making your own choice!! Thanks, SlimDevices, for an incredible option to re-familiarize myself with my huge music library!! -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30141 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Re: IR problems on Transporter
Mark Lanctot;155751 Wrote: Couldn't this be done with the IR Blaster? I guess I'm just asking if the IR In/Out is a 'loop-through' that would pass the signal to an IR LED for my XM receiver. This way I don't have to use TWO between both units. They are sitting one on top of the other, but the IR receivers are in different areas and the Trans receiver is VERY PICKY about placement. It just doesn't work well with one LED trying to hit both units. -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29656 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Re: IR problems on Transporter
dean;154682 Wrote: Sorry that the IR sensor isn't in the right place for you. We did try to place it with the widest visibility, but with all that display glass there wasn't much flexibility. The IR input jack is designed to connect directly to the IR output of a repeater in place of one of the stick-on IR LEDs. For example, the output from a Harmony 890 RF receiver should be able to be plugged in directly using an 1/8 to 1/8 cable. Dean, I have a UniversalRemote that has a repeater for LEDs. Will this work like the Harmony does? Model is MRF-100 which actually accepts RF from the remote and converts to IR. Works great from other rooms. So the next question would be could I take the remote OUT of the Transporter to drive an IR LED for my Polk XM receiver? Thanks... [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Digital loop-through on Transporter?
I've got a Transporter on order but can't find anything in the manual stating that you can pass-through any of the digital ins to a digital out. I only see references made to using it as a D/A. I have a Polk Audio XM receiver and am taking its optical SPDIF out into my receiver. With the addition of the Transporter, I'd like to loop the optical through so I don't have to run another 'hose'. Is this even possible? Thanks... -- Eric Seaberg Eric Seaberg - San Diego [EMAIL PROTECTED] Eric Seaberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7896 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29056 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
