I observed the adult Harris's Sparrow yesterday afternoon and this
morning along the edge of the road just past the Boat Inspection

winds. I also have notes where Tony indicated all CO sightings have
been in the Denver-Boulder area and more often close to the foothill
edge. Hopefully this will be the year we find another murrelet along
the Front Range.

Along with Michael Kiessig and Mike Foster I was surprised to see and
watch a Sage Sparrow (interior race) make it's way down a foot path
in Bear Creek Lake Park (BCLP) this morning about 10:00 A.M. This is
the only Sage Sparrow I have observed at BCLP in my 5-6 years of
birding the park
in the thick brush at the edge of
the lawn and never did come into the feeders, but flew from one brushy
area to another just beyond the mowed grass.

On our DFO Field Trip stop in Bear Creek Lake Park, we saw an adult
Harris's Sparrow feeding with a flock of approx. 20 Am. Tree
Sparrows. The location is just east of the Boat Launch Parking lot in

: stay behind the fence and be careful so you don't scare the
ducks and cause them to fly. You can't see the birds from the parking
lot, but as soon as you reach the fence the open water is visible and
quite close.

(75+) of Rosy-Finches came
in to feed in droves. All 3 species plus the Hepburn's subspecies
were present. Some Rock Doves have discovered the feeders and landed
on the wall - this is the first time I have seen them use the feeders.

were Gray-crowned with at least 10% Gray-
cheeked(Hepburn's) along with some Brown-capped and a few Black (both
adult first year). Among all the juncos there was one White-winged.
