Thanks to the folks who suggested that I convert the Word docs to
HTML to obtain the filenames for the graphics. If I remember, that
was a trick useful when the original graphics are not available
because saving to HTML causes Word to convert the graphics to gifs
and jpgs. But in doing so, the

I'm generating PDFs out of Frame 11 and opening them in Acrobat 11
Pro in a Windows environment. I've discovered that the text in
cross-references created in Framemaker cannot be annotated in Acrobat
using the Strikethrough Text tool or the Insert Text at Cursor tool,

I'm using Frame12.0.1 (can't update to 12.0.2 or 12.0.3; waiting for
Adobe Tech Support help). Suddenly (after trying unsuccessfully to
update to 12.0.2) I can't print multiple files in a book. Frame
crashes. I have always (16 years) used the "print to .ps and distill"
method with no problems.
Sigh. I have to reinstall Framemaker 12 on my Win7 system. Before I

I think it depends on how a text editor interprets ends of lines.
When I copy the text from your Framemaker file into eCleaner or
Notepad++, there are no unexpected line breaks. If I save your FM
file as PDF and then copy/paste the text from the PDF into eCleaner
or Notepad++, I see no unexpect
It sounds like you might be trying to include all
of the content in the manual in one Framemaker
file. If that is the case, then I recommend you
break the content out into separate files; one
for the cover, one for the change page and TOC
(although I would put each of these in separate
