Aaaand, it looks like the lock wafers are the same between the ignition and the
doors, so I should be able to rekey this and get back to the 1 key solution
which I like way better than having 2.
Looks like this is a timely project too, the lock is pretty dirty inside. I
wonder if thats really
You can get the original build data including key code from the Benzes. Given
that, you can buy
an original code ignition key and a valet key from them also. Cost is high
enouygh but not outrageoue.
Takes a little while; you may have to furnish proof of ownership, especially
for a European
Et voila! A washed title.

And, if you need a smaller wafer than any you have, you can probably file a
bigger one to the smaller size, can't you?

Here's an article in the current CAR magazine in re: diesel particulate

I pulled the exhaust off my W116 tonight. Everything unbolted easily
despite the rusty condition of the pipe itself (heavily rusted
everywhere, and perforated in several places). Had to use a hammer to
tap the junction at the turbo flex fitting but that popped off pretty
easily as well.

I don't deposit the check. I just take it to my bank and ask them to verify
it as I think it may be a fraud. I have $15k in fraudulent cashiers checks
and such that I have received over the years.
It is also a good way to test your bank. I closed my account with HSBC

Goo Gone should get the shipping tag off. Let it soak for 30min or more.
Detergent won't touch the glue on it.
I'd use Hi Temp paint. Reg Rustoleum will burn off real quick.

Well, MAF fails the diagnostic test, so I probably need to replace that, as
well as one O2 sensor. There's a solenoid valve in the emissions system
that the ECU says the circuit fails to work properly, but the valve passes
the component test and the wiring harness has continuity and no short.
The battery.Last time I needed a battery FLAPS core was less than
the salvage price for a battery of $3-5. But I have not checked for
several years.

Try 3M adhesive remover. It's potent stuff but works a hell of a lot better
than goo gone. I would definitely use a high temp paint.
