Lima(1926-2004)II.
For more than two months the late
Mr.Cassiano.C.da Lima was interned in Boscio Hospital in Candolim. The cause of
his death over there was liver cirrhosis. Earlier comforted by the Sacraments of
Penance,,Holy Eucharist and Anointing of the
XIMECHO KHURIS AND REDDEACHI XIM.
It is between the Barrosso vaddo
in Sangolda and Mollebhat in Saligao that finally the permanent border stone NIS

GAMES WE AND OUR ANCESTORS PLAYED IN SALIGAO
Due to the foundation of English
schools in Saligao already in the passed century, playing grounds were provided
to the students. Mater Dei Institute had its own ground while others played
foot-ball in the fields and level
hilly terrain.
BIYANNI or Cashew Seed GameII, LOBBIAMNIM (or 7 tiles)
KARTANIM
This second cashew seed game
involves a group of players who stand at a distance from a tree or wall. They
would then throw their cashew seeds. Players whose seed is closer to the
wall/tree, is to play first. He throws a

This is a unique game
resembling golf, except that unlike in golf where clubs are used, fingers were
use to push the marble into the hole ( Mil). Two or any even or odd number of
players could take part in the game. Three small holes( about 1 ½ dia. X 1
deep)were dug in
KOINDDO BAL TIKTTEM.

For this game, two or more
players make a team. A small slit is made on the ground. On that the bal is
kept. The player places the stick on to slit in the ground and asks' kollie?'(

Portuguese regime. The chapel of St. Anne was built in 1843 and Donvaddkars
fulfilled their religious obligation there by attending Mass on Sundays. There

In the major cities of Bombay( Mumbai), Calcutta( Kolkata),
Karachi , East Africa, etc., Goans founded their own Clubs. Such clubs known
among the Goans as " KUDD" exist in

We have read that St. Annes Club began
circa 1850 in Mumbai . It was an offshoot of The Communidade de Saligao. However
it has to be closed in early fifties and money kept in the safe custody of the
Committee of Capela de Santa Ana, Saligao, to say an annual

given considerable thought as can be seen from the fact that Augusto Saldanha
made certain suggestions in his speech as to what the aims and objects of the

endeavoured, wherever they may be, to observe this day as of special
