I learned something today at a car show that I had never known about Don
Knotts.
Starting in 1949 he began playing the role of Windy Wales in the radio
show, "Bobby Benson and the B Bar B Riders".

It's good to know that Karen Knotts' one-woman show 'Tied Up in Knotts' is sold
out. I liked the special clips from 'The Don Knotts Show' near the end. 'The
Don
Knotts Show' (1970-1971) needs to be released on DVD. This variety series was
produced at the height of the color variety series
I too would love to be able to see episodes of The Don Knotts Show, but it is
extremely unlikely that it will ever make it to DVD. Variety shows of that
type
always had guest stars who performed their hit songs (or at least, songs that
they hoped would become hits), and all of these songs
I happened to see an epsiode of Matlock the other day. I had never watched
the program when it was on it's original run.
Don Knotts made an appearance in a few scenes. It was great to see the Andy
Don together.

when he worked at the airport in LA Don Knotts came up to him to rent a car.
He had just gotten finished with a shooting for one of his films and had a
lot of make up on. The fellow said how friendly Don was and how down to

from about 2000 to 2003 that was named Don Knotts.

I was watching some of the first season episodes of Gomer Pyle, USMC last
night. One of the episodes I caught was Gomer and the Dragon Lady, and while
watching, I discovered a special tip of the hat to Don Knotts.
In one scene, Gomer is met by Duke (Ronnie Schell
Don's stunt double was Jerry Brutsche; he is credited in Barney's
Sidecar. He is also list in practically every Don Knotts movie made even
the Don Knotts Television Show. Jerry was also in The 2 Every Which Way
but Loose Movies as the sweeper driver and as one of the Black Widows.

Season 4 (1965 - 1966) of McHALE'S NAVY was released a couple weeks ago.? It
includes Don Knotts' guest star episode, where he plays a Navy psychiatrist,
and Capt. Binghamton tries to convince him that the PT-73 crew is suffering
from fatigue and must be shipped home.

Morgantown WV. Went to hear Don's daughter, Karen, perform her Tied Up In
Knotts show. It was about an hour long and reflected a lot on her the
relationship with her father. Had some show clips from Don's variety hour

Fife statue was not allowed to happen because CBS television officials, who

remember as the actor. Not just one role he played (Barney Fife). And there was
a statue made for Mt. Airy (mayberry) But it was destroyed. Because his home

Seeing the question in Today's Digest I pulled out Don Knotts biography
Barney Fife and other Characters I have known I didn't read every
page, but my quick scan indicated he lived no place other that West
Virginia and New York, in his early years.
