Subject: Re: [expert] mandrake 7 probs
I just installed Mandrake 7 yesterday. I cant get pppd to work. It states
something like "The remote computer is requested to authenicate itself
I however am unable to supply [secret] password to get an IP address"
something like this. This does not change whether I am Root, or user.
Actually
Here at the Air Force Base, our systems are so locked down that we cant even set the
clock on the PC. Therefore, sorry if my mails don't come through eye appealing.

I have a Hauppaggue Win TV w/radio.
I use KDE and I like KwinTV real well.
Wish I could get "Real" full screen though.

. A good idea might be to
remove the tcp/ip bindings to your network card and then
reinstalling them (you'll need your windows installation cd for
that).

I have my Mandrake 6.1 set up to IP Masq. My Win 98 box sees the linux box fine, samba

recently had to reinstall Linux. Networking is on, IP forwarding is on. Win has Linux

Yes. Port 80 and then 8080, however, I never had any setting in IE to make it work
before. The IP of the linux box is 192.168.1.100, and the Win box is 192.168.1.110.
As they have always been.

I have the same problem with the "explosion" sound. My volume problem is just opposite
of yours though. It will get real low upon some reboots.
I too have the Awe64 card, using KDE, running Mandrake 6.1, in a PII450, 128M RAM.

Agent worked fine for me under Wine.
I do however agree with the scanner issue. I have a parallel port noname scanner which
works great but no Linux support.
Pan is a real good choice for a Linux "Agent-like" newsreader. Has the look and feel
of Agent.

Video for Linux is included in kernel 2.2.13 (Mdk 6.1). If you have a
Happauge card there is a section on their driver pages describing how to.
You only need to insmod tuner, bttv, ic2, and mp3400.
*Note - the mp3400 isnt on their page, but my audio wouldn't work without
it. (Awe64)
