So my question about stats. Not sure if this got buried or what, so I'll ask again. Since most mon benefit from speed, will I still be alright to max that out first and then do attack the rest of the way? Or should I keep it balanced all the way through? From what I can tell, the benefits of training attack don't really make a huge difference until the end of the game where everything seems like it's kill in one shot or be killed in one shot. Last time through I trained defense and hp only and noticed that I couldn't one shot things that I was able to before. That tells me attack needs to be trained at least a little bit. I'm also curious about recobrah. I've taken the time to grind one up to 27 or so. At least in the early game he is fast and hits like a truck. I've never played one before but things I've read here indicate he just becomes a burden later on in the game and can't pull his weight.

Also, perhaps it was just incidental luck for me, but I found the Manamon in the sections of sewer farther along the fields towards Orianda were slightly higher level. Under Hazeldale I found a lot of level 29 and 30, but farther in it was all level 31 and 32. If you want that slight exp bump, you could always wait until you get to that section to grind. You get the full amount of exp as long as your Manamon is not 10 or more levels above the foe (forget if 10 itself starts to dent it, or if it starts at 11 level difference).

hii think it's time for me to come up with my thoughtsregarding the disasters. yeah, it would feel more realistic if they spawn random, but on the other  hand i can understand the admins too.but an other thing that is totaly realistic is the adiction system.  it's not realistic that adiction should go up random because in real life, you are not adicted if you just smoke 1 ciggarette. let me give an example how stewpid this system isfrom 8% adiction i smoked a ciggarette and got 26%adiction, then, i smoked 2 ciggarettes again, and the adiction went up  46%in the real life. there is no chance that you will get adicted if you smoke 3 ciggarettesl

I noticed the pattern, but knowing which obstacles are ahead of you doesn't always help, especially when the distance between them can vary, and with so many dangers so close together anyways, it's way too easy to jump one barrier or spike only to land on another, and I try to hit the arrow keys as fast as I can, but at the same time I'm scared to jump too far in case there are three obstacles close together, so if there's a spike or barrier alone I tend to run close to it and jump over it, then jump the next thing and hope I don't land under the delete ray if there is one on the other side. There's something at least every five steps, and I don't want to break my keyboard trying to move faster than I do and risk landing on something deadly at the same time. If I could just make it to a checkpoint other than the fire one I'd be okay, I hope, but I can't and it's a bloody nightmare...edit: Also, I don't know how to close
  my game and keep the quicksave of when I get through each level of the folder, so I have to start over again every time, and the first corrupt sector in Windows just loves to eat me. I don't know how wide it is, but I know the near edge has a delete ray over it, so I have to get as close as I can to it and then jump the sector. I have to pound the arrow to make it across or I fall in and lose a life. I refuse to go into windows with anything less than 255 lives, and if I lose more than three in the first level I quit. I'm terrified that if I don't have enough lives when I get to Rusty, I'm toast, which is why I so deeply despise the Inner Fortress. I was down to 140 lives yesterday and most of those losses were from that stage, so I quit, partly because I wasn't sure if that number of lives would be enough to face Rusty with and partly because I was so. Totally. Sick. Of hearing. That scream/dying music combo. I dreamed about this game last night, dreamed a
 bout finally getting to Rusty. But today when I tried I couldn't jump that stupid first sector in Windows again because my hand was too tired, and I couldn't even achieve the speedrun of My Music. How are you supposed to get that done in 1 minute 30? The bloody Capcha has to be done right the first time and you have to kill all your enemies before you can do it and the bomb only blows up after a certain time and even doing half of Mary Had a Little Lamb and getting a "Good Enough" so you can move on, My best time was 2 minutes and 1 second. I need more bits! Why can't I ever lose enough health and get more bits ...? *cries*

I am sorry for the lack of specificity. Let me elaborate a bit more. My issue has appeared in 3 specific titles: Rail Racer demo, The Horse Racing Game, and Star Trek Final Conflict. They have worked on Windows 7 before, as I used to own a Windows 7 machine. When I open these games, a message appears that the game's executable has stopped working and a solution is being checked for by Windows. I have installed Direct X, still with no luck. Is any more information needed to help me with this issue? If so, let me know. Again, my apologies for the lack of specifics.

Non-configurable would be best, but scaling to your highest level would be okay. I only hate scaling when it's forced on you in the main storyline, but I've gone through that rant before so I'll spare you all the same thing again.I'm usually around level 40-42 or so when I hit the sewers, honestly, but 38-39 isn't too bad either. Tangeria Tower front is an excellent place to grind a lot of different types of manamon, and the encounter rate there is nice and high.

You haven't provided nearly enough information to allow us to even begin to advise you. Which specific games? This problem could be caused by a flaw in the game itself or by missing resources on your computer. Try reading the game's manual and looking for system requirements. If it tells you that some libraries must be installed (like DirectX, etc) then install those and try again. If the games are very old you might be fighting a losing battle trying to make them run on newer versions of windows. Try an XP VM in this case. If the game just has a bug that's causing it to crash, then all you can do is file a bug report and hope for the best.

rusty will be hard, though not as hard as inner fortress, all i can tell you is let teleporter get a bit close and jump over it, i jump more  then 8 spaces, eather 10 or 12, but that's because i practicly hit the arrow keys. if you still cant jump over it, kary made a walkthrough of AAC, hey kary! can you do the post game one? yes, only through the rusty fight, but she passes inner fortress with almost not losing any lives. there is a paddern if you look for it, i cant tell you what  is it, but i will make a recording of me playing windows up to rusty folder tomorrow or on weak end. it might help hearing how you can do it, though it sounds easier then doing it yourself. and dude, wait for it, it only gets worse in the post game... all i'm saying.

I still haven't beaten Rusty. The darned inner fortress keeps getting me every time and I don't want to waste that many lives just trying to get to the end of it. I have made it there twice now, the second time without losing many lives in the previous levels, but I have lost over 100 lives just in that level each time I tried to get through it, and I didn't make it back to where I started in any of those attempts. Either the teleporter would get me, I'd accidentally land on an electric barrier, or a spike would get me one too many times. I was starting to get the hang of the pattern before I gave up yesterday, but I swear the obstacles start getting closer together at some point... I feel like Rusty will be easy compared to this insanity...I still haven't gotten the "Foolish Character!" achievement I've mentioned a bazillion times before, and am pretty much convinced it scales up when you raise your health, but at this point I don
 9;t care. I need all the health I can get. So I just killed that bird in Downloads about 700 times to get the "Killed 1000 animals" achievement. Well worth the grinding. I got 50k bits and spent most of them on health upgrades! I got a few more attack as well, but that isn't helping me kill the viruses and such in Windows any faster. At least I have more of a chance of surviving the delete rays and spikes, though with the spikes you lose huge chunks of health and I really don't like that, especially in the inner fortress where you're basically going to land on one thing or another because you can only runjump about eight spaces at a time and you're trying to outrun the fire, and eventually your sheer luck runs out... Have you worked out yet that I hate the inner fortress?

Right, it can be frustrating at first, but you just need to give it a shot.I forget what the heck my dad used to use on my line but I have another idea that might work just as well. go to a hobby shop that sells foam for building R/C planes out of. Make sure its a water resistant type of foam, then make a disc from it, with a small hole in the center that you can either put that on before you put on the hook, or a small groove that you can slide the line in.

I'm afraid this is a very old topic and what's going on with Q9 has changed quite a bit since this was originally posted.Last year, Blastbay games sold the rights to distribute q9 to the developers of Leasy, which is a set of jfw scripts. Thus, the only way now to register Q9 is to buy leasy, which costs $150, and also requires a fully licensed copy of Jaws. The Leasy developer has been asked on many occasions if he will please sell Q9 as a stand alone game, and has flatly refused, indeed he has even made disparaging remarks about Gamers too and is over all nott a nice person. Many people are very sorry philip sold rights to someone who apparently cares so little for the game.So, I'm afraid that no, there isn't a way to register Q9 at all which is sad. On the plus side however there are many good audio side scrollers around, To begin, try Crazy party, db page here an exceptional game with literally hundreds of minigames to play, including many side scrolling ones, plus it's free. Also, if you use the "search games" link on the front page of the site you can list the games by genre. One genre we have is side scrollers which will list all available currently in the database. I'd personally especially recommend adventure at C:, Angel gift and good old superliam, also Vgstorm who make adventure at C: have a newer side scroller the Gate which I've not tried yet but which has very good reports. so while bad news about Q9, there is plenty more out there. hth. Hi Locutus,Glad to have helped. Now that you mention the H4N, I wish I would've taken it more seriously. I don't know what it sounds like but I imagine it sounds much like the XY-H6 capsule I purchased for the H5.The H5's default mics are not bad. They could record quiet sounds well, and work just fine as a general purpose solution. But the impression I got from Zoom is that they're meant for louder sounds, as they supposedly can tolerate much higher SPLs. If you want a more delicate sound in addition to a wider image, and you don't want or can't afford to spend money on additional capsules to experiment with, I do think you are making a wise choice with the H4N.I know very little about the sound of the external inputs on these recorders, though I imagine they will be adequate for your needs. In general I find many of Zoom's newer recorders especially to be very reasonable in performing their expected tasks.Also I forgot t
 o mention Neal Ewers has reviews of almost all the Zoom recorders up to the H6, and the Olympus ones up to the Ls-100, though I believe his H4N review was made back when the recorder was first released, and not made with an updated model. He is blind so he describes the recorders and their functions from an accessibility point of view to the blind audiophile. At sid, finding an iso is going to be tough. I have tryed, and have encountered similar problems that you have described. You might try to torrent a clean iso, but even that is risky. If you really want xp, your best bet might be just to by a dvd off of ebay or amazon.

searching for an accessible metronome for looping purposes

the subject says it all, lol does anyone know of something I can use for this? either on PC or iOS, either worksit's a kinda dumb reason though if I'm being honest with myself, it's basically just to see if the loops I make are fitting a rhythm, I can usually trust myself to count right but I'm nowhere near perfect when it comes to being exactly 100 percent on the beat especially near the end of whatever it is I'm trying to create a loop of so something to make sure would be coolif anyone knows of anything and would be willing to share that would be greatly appreciated

hi,though I had no intention of replying further at first place, but I've seen a few instances on the forum where it has been brought to our attention that on the internet there are only written words based on which many people tend to draw certain conclusions of their own and consider a statement somewhat different from its original intended meaning. in other words, a person can draw ten different conclusions of their own based on just a single statement, and that may not entirely represent  the views of the moderators, or the community as a whole. please bare in mind that every person firstly, do not have English as their first language, secondly, belongs to various regions, and thirdly they belong to all kind of groups, and moreover, their style of conveyance can be different owing to their primary language and various other factors. a person can have a different intention, either general or specific, but it can be interpreted in various ways by a person 
 who tends to be judgemental all the time. for example, it does not do any good if someone starts  jumping the guns after a slight bit of noise, or upon sensing a slight movement which has nothing to do with the present scenario, when at the same time there are other people in place to deal with this kind of situation as well. besides, that very person wouldn't be contributing to the cause by firing repeated shots which are totally uncalled for. this should be enough to make a situation sound worse compared to it was before that action, probably. what i want to bring forward here is the consequences of this repeated behavior again and again. suppose the person who wrote the above didn't intend it to sound as harsh and narrow as interpreted by someone, would he feel comfortable to comment further on another similar thread later on? in short, this is not encouraging at all and wouldn't help anyone accept proving how biased and paranoid this behavior se
 ems like, from the person who does nothing better but to smack down on those posts which, according to his so called conclusion, are over a certain criteria. if that is the case, I don't think that the moderators here are so ignorant as not to take any sort of action, and if not, then that person gets nothing as he isn't a moderator of course.in short, if someone is not a moderator, they shouldn't assume a responsibility to act like one, and if they really feel something is going against the rules, better use that report button and let them decide, instead of coming here and being consistent with jumping the guns again, and again, and again on almost every post which is not written according to that very person's taste. Hmmm.Hi locutus, who'd have thought the borg need to worry about voice recorders, I mean essentually you guys have unlimited computer power, cloud storage and it is assumed that you have a custom os and like a universe fof memmory and storage probably flash or something.For myself the olympus stuff is good but a bit expensive.Zoon seems ok to, as well as things like the old edorol units as far as I know.I have 2 units a soni icd px 380, and a ux60  as well as an sx35.All have served me, the 35 is dead now, the ux is small but I still use it for the single battery it prevides and the px is good enough.Soni have several icd units available, sx is their professional line well ultimit line, px is their pro version for computer pc conectivity ax is their translation type thing and ux if I remember is their ultraslim portable.However  I have not needed to upgrade for 3 years since I got the px 380 it is not exactly like I need ano
 ther device.The only issue  I would have with these units is the fact that sound from the recorder itself is a pile of crap.The sound of the outputted recordings is really good for general recording and better with a mic.The only downside is that the software on the recorder and also on windows just is not accessible.It used to be when I got the fist sx I owned but both devices have become less accessible to the point of the ux which is ok but not to good.My px is good, the only thing is the menu is not  accessible its not needed and neither is the software for extra features like music storage.I have yet to find out about what size of micro sd I need to fit in it.You also need a lanyard for it.To be honest, you may find it easier to get something small and crappy that can hook to your smart phone or get a netbook or some sort of tablet  to record with for what you do.My field recorder is good but I'd never us
 e it for production quality recording, I have 2 cheap soundcards, well one was relitively cheap, and 1 came with headsets, but still.On a sub note and completely off the topic for a nanoseccond I just found out one of my distant cousins is ciue, got me chuckling, I have a cousin that is q, but no one in my family digs trek so I keep that to myself.

Well Simba Germany is I think somewhat better on a social angle, but still has it's issues. My lady lived in Germany for 17 years, and several things she relates like blindengeld (hope I've spelled that right), and other things in germany sound very progressive and not similar to things in the Uk. then again she still relates issues of for sexample being ignored by others in new situations and the occasionally less good attitude she encountered even in Germany.

No idea on the exe files or other things. I am still using xp, and given the problems I've had with my lady's computer and windows 7, (silly layout, outlook being a bastard, idiotic things in explorer),  I am not sorry to be doing so, though i confess the number of things xp doesn't work with these days is prohibitive so I'll be getting a windows 10 machine later this year. (I don't expect windows 10 to be that much better than 7, but if I must have crap it might as well be the latest crap, and windows 10 does at least have an alternative to outlook for male). For an antivirus I use avg, also C cleaner and malware bites to fix general problems.As to what doesn't work though, the unfortunate answer is actually quite a few things things days, a lot of newer programs and games (even those like games from Vgstorm which should! work with xp), as well as quite a few things on the internet. Heck if it weren't for finishin
 g my doctoral thesis I'd probably get a inwdows 10 machine now.you can get around the utube problem by using yourtube, but other sites are causing problms, including a lot of general utility ones like google drive. So yes, i like Xp and still believe microsoft should just make a more uptodate xp rather than all this other crap with their cruddy 3D and such, particularly to support 30 years worth of sotware, but hay as per usual microsoft is the only opinion that matters, they want more money and that is that, still I buy computers for what they do not anything else and it's trivially true windows is still the operating system with the most support in terms of games etc so I'm stuck with microsoft even though i don't agree with anything they've done since they stopped supporting xp, and I suspect windows 10 will be annoying, though at least it doesn't have the crappitude of outlook as a male program (what the hell was wrong with outlook exp

some very quick questions for dark and others

hiwell, i'll try to make this a quick question, would be no use to write a long post or a rant, although it is quarter past 2 at night here as i type, but here goes. I've decided to install windows xp on the computer, as it slows down and causes countless problems while using windows 7. so, i tried to create a bootable cd with a windows xp iso i found somewhere on the internet. it seemed to work well, but there were some strange problems in the end. for example, i was able to get into setup but afterwards some of the crucial files were missing or the setup could not find them, like winlogin etc. when i looked into the contents of the cd, a lot of files were ending with .exe_, instead of .exe. that might be the cause of the problem, but there were too many files and folders to deal with. as the outcome, i couldn't proceed with installation as planned.so, the question is, how do i create a bootable windows xp cd which works perfectly fine, either b
 y getting relevant iso files or so on. is it necessary to use a third party software for burning the iso? isn't the builtin windows 7 app good enough for doing the burning task. if i recall correctly, a few people including dark might be still using xp, so they are likely to have more experience with this matter compared to others, hence the title of the topic.also, I'm not sure how exactly the process of formatting goes, but what's a good way to install relevant drivers later on? are there some common drivers that are supposed to work with all type of systems? or is there any other arrangement to be made. i have a utility called driver pack solution, so will that be good enough. also, I'm aware of certain limitations of windows xp including youtube and others, but do they cause enough interference to prevent an average person from doing basic tasks? anyways, which antivirus would work well for xp as far as internet activity and files are concerned?
 these are basically some questions i need a solution for as soon as possible. any help would be appreciated. and as a side note, please keep unnecessary comments and opinion off this thread.thank you.

Hi.Well, I have to admit that I don't know the situation for blind or disabled people in other cuntrys like the US, I just know the situation over here in Germany, and from my own personal experiences, it is quite well.There is a city in Germany called Marburg which is often said to be the city of blind people. This might sound strange, but well, it is true.There is the only good school for blind people there which not only teaches you things like in a normal school for the sighted or blind, you as a student also have the ability for orientation training, assistance training in tasks of the dayly lives like cooking and stuff.Also, when you are finnished with school, they are also assisting you in finding a place at university, help you finding a flat or a living space.The people there are ver'y friendly, sometimes to friendly when it comes to help a blind person, but that's a thing for another topic.

Well, the few people actually killed due to going offline more than once during a disasters both had dfc's and didn't have them, so i can assure you that no one with or without dfc's is spaired. The only problem with fully automated disasters is that they can not adjust to players: quantity, reaction, and so on. You know, i'd be glad to not spawn disasters because it's always a time of paying very close attention to everything, but from the other side, it's impossible to leave them unattended, because of what i said. All in all, better to launch them manually so they can be reviewed before they launch, and increased in case of reactions etc.

you  know what? I'm not only in disagreement with Figmant, but I also feel pissed off. Quite honestly, I feel that this guy is used to treat others as hipocrits because they don'k think the same way as him.I don't see where's the problem with having a very old, abandoned, quite hard to find version of eloquence. Yes, nuance is still licensing it, but heck I don't even think this is a matter of piracy. Plus, as far as I know, this coppy of eloquence was not taken from a JAWS DLL, its just the raw thing that datajake found and put together. Faylen, that's right, your best bet is just to fight feral Manamon until your new team members can fight for themselves. My advice is to find the area they are the most effective in that's the closest level to them. For example, if you're trying to raise an electric type, the Promolders and to a lesser extent the Zintrabats may pose trouble, the former is immune to electric and knows quake, the latter is weak to electric but is fast, and if it outspeeds you, can hurt a lot with Aura Master. In contrast, the Tangeria Tower Front doesn't have any earth types except for the very rare Lonar, which appears in a pack of 3 anyway so you will have someone else out who can deal with it. It also has air types who don't have a move that can decimate you. By training there you might be able to make fewer trips to a hotel, and time spent running back is time spent not getting exp. That's just an example, anyway. I think my team is usually roughly level 40 at that 
 point, so you're otherwise doing well. You just need to level up your newcomers so you have a greater variety of types who level match the tamers.

So, last question from me about training points, I think. Since speed seems pretty important, for most mon anyway, would I be doing a disservice by dumping all my training points into speed and maxing it early then training attack the rest of the way or should I keep it balanced from the start?

@Simba, thanks for the suggestion. I did look it up, but the overall consensus I've read is that while it gets good sound for the average listener, the LS14 really is not really designed for professional-sounding music recordings.@Raygrote, thank you so much for that very informative post! I also looked up the LS100, but as with the LS14, the general feeling is one of just ok more than anything else. Now, regarding the Zoom H5... I would totally get it, but here's the thing... IF the built-in mics do better with louder sounds, than it's really not worth getting that, plus mics designed for quieter sounds. I just don't have that much money. IT really is a shame too, because in general I've heard a lot of good things about the H5.On the other hand, the Zoom H4N pro has actually been updated this year, and all the recordings I've heard of one, including some Baroque chamber music, sound quite good indeed. So, methinks that I'll most lik
 ely end up getting that one. Unless, has anyone used any of the Tascam recorders? I've heard high praises for those as well, but only from sighted users...

Hey all,New to the forum, though I do read messages from time to time. I've gotten into manamon, but a bit stuck at the moment so I wondered if anyone had any suggestions.Currently, I have four on my team that are in the mid to high 30s. I've decided to swap out a couple others to try some new types and vary it up a bit, but the only ones I have caught are mid 20s at the highest. I think I should be able to grind those guys to low 30s without issue, but I'm not sure what to do after that. The problem I'm running into is the level difference between wild manamon and the tamers I run across in the same area. I've gotten to the first section of the sewers, and the wild fights there are in the upper 20s, maybe 30 at the highest while the tamers are around 40. Do I just have to grind on the wild ones even if that means only getting 200-400 experience per fight, or is there some other trick? I do have the xp pal, but that only helps so much 
 when the tamers are a tough fight even for my highest which is 38.

Chapters 2 and 3 of Galbadia prime Online are up. Chapter 4 is scheduled to go up tomorrow. You will need an SOL account to read them, and any other story past chapter 1.I am thinking of creating a Galbadia Prime Online universe. Those who have read chapter 3 of Galbadia Prime Online will know what kind of VR game I am creating here. A universe will allow you to create stories within the universe, for example, you could write a story about your characters journey in the game, just as I'm doing with Julian.I'd give details for authors here, but feel free to either contact me via the site feedback form if you have an account, or PM me here perhaps.
