My guess is that it's the pressurestat. I'm guessing that it's sticking
sometimes and causing an overpressure situation and the relief valve is
doing it's job.

As Ben said replace the o-ring. If the pump stops and you don't hear the
hiss that's all you need to do. If you fix the hiss and the pump still
keeps coming on you have another issue. I've had the o-ring leak cause my

May be that the check valve for the steam is leaking. If so you should be

Fill the tank, put the filter back in and make sure it goes to the bottom

My brewtus has a vibe pump so it works somewhat differently. If I had it I
would connect it to the water supply and plug it in and see what happens.
It's hard to diagnose anything with it unplugged and no water supply. It
may have been a bad gfi. I think once you plug it in and tell us what's
That's great customer service!

I love the toggles for steam and hot water. I converted my Brewtus II to
this type valve and they work so much better! Nice looking machine.

Hey Ben! It hit me as well. I lost my mind Friday afternoon and ordered a
new GS3 mp from Chris. It should be here before Christmas but you know how
deliveries are this time of year. I've wanted one since they came out and
finally just called them. I talked with Mary and was leaning toward the

You could have a relay that is stuck. It sounds like the pid is working if
it stopped blinking at 200. At least if that's what it's set at. You could
check the relay first by tapping it to see if the temp quits rising. You
could use a meter to see if it is still getting power from the controller
Hi Ira
I've been reading all I could about both the conical and the flat. I was
really surprised at how many people bought both! I'm still trying to tame
the quest but since I quit chasing the readings on the digital thermostats
I've had much better luck. Hopefully by the time the grinders are
Ira how are you liking your monolith? Why the flat instead of the conical?
Thanks.
