I use a Mirage B-310-G with my K144XV. It is rated at 3W in 100W out,
but the power curve on Mirage's website goes up to 8W in with 100W+
out. My K144XV only puts out about 7-8 watts so I have never had any
problems with over driving it.

Maybe I don't understand your problem, but I don't know why you need the
K3 command strings. You should be able to click on the 'Settings' menu,
then click on 'Rig Interface.' On this screen select Elecraft for the
radio type, select the serial port, baud rate, etc... Then when you

Yes, I would check the crystal configuration. When I originally built
mine, I left the FL1 slot open for future AM or FM filter and put my
2.8KHz filter in FL2. At some point I also noticed I had no audio and
this is because the width knob was turned wider than 2.8 so the K3 was

What software are people using for the JT65 mode? I would like to
possibly start tinkering with JT65 and have WSJT9 installed. There do
not seem to be any options for using CAT to key the K3. I see an option
for a PTT port and buttons for selecting DTR or RTS. I already have an

Holding the SENSOR and RANGE buttons simultaneously changes between
peak-hold and average. You might also want to set the range to 200
since 'auto' may take a couple seconds to determine the correct range
and 2KW would be too high for just 40 or 80 watts.

Hi,
I am in the process of installing the KAT2 and need some clarification
on the bridge null adjustment procedure. Following the instructions, I
set the slot of C55 parallel to the K2 rear panel. After activating
TUNE I can adjust it down to about 002 or so. Then if I put it back

I keep my 13 element 2m beam horizontal for SSB work. I have some kind
of pulsating interference from an unknown source in the FM portion of
the band for it to be of much use.

Yes, that is a circuit breaker on the K3 so a fuse probably is not
necessary. Of course there would certainly be nothing wrong with using
a fuse.

If you are using the sound card to generate the cw tones that are being
fed to the radio, you will probably have to use 'CW (SSB).'

The first thing I would do is load up the K3 Configuration Utility and
connect to the K3. Click on the 'Configuration' tab and select
'Configure Crystal Filters.' Make sure AM enable as well as TX enable
are both selected for FL1.

Oh and don't forget to apply the changes before exiting the K3 utility.

I seem to recall having a similar problem with FLDIGI. I think there is
a checkbox to always use USB that I had to check to get the frequency to
display correctly using DATA-A mode.
