with alkaline AA cells. The fact that it drains alkalines so fast and
NiMH cells get destroyed is why I say that. The only thing common to
failure with both types of cells is the camera...

Two replies about compacts that use AA cells stated low battery life.
Perhaps it is because the A570IS is a new camera that the A cells in my
wife's camera are still going strong
need a wall plug. Carry a couple spare AAs
bu if needed, just about anywhere you go in the world you can find AA
cells..

The DJ130 is definitely dye. I stand corrected on the ink-type for
the 1280, which is dye. Many apologies to the list!
I switched to an aftermarket pigment on the 1280 before I gave up on
it, which was equally bad.

To provide a counterpoint to Wayne's experience...
I had an Epson 1280 that was a major clog-monster. I've got an Epson
R200 that is even worse.
My HP DJ130 gets up and prints every time, even after long dormancy.
I don't think this is a
HP vs Epson thing - more of an dye vs. pigment
and replace it with something dependable, probably not another Canon
because of their mediocre support.
